@Based Kaiser Honestly I believe Weisman was always political and socially conscious, I can tell that just from watching Gargoyles. SWAT KATS: Radical Squadron had to be the most violent kids show ever aired (in terms of civilian casualties) and I loved every second of it as a kid. I actually got to ask the show’s creators during a convention panel why it got canceled and they explained that it technically wasn’t. What happened was the higher ups, either at Hanna-Barbera or Turner Broadcasting, refused to let them sell merchandise (which is how all kids shows got their funding back in the day). Pirates of Dark Waters ❤❤❤ when I worked at a comic store, I found their comic series (to which I bought the only copies) but who else knew that show had comics?!
Originally, *Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century* was a spinoff of Filmation's *Bravestarr* series. How do I know this? There's a two-part episode that went by that title.
Oh my gods, dude you manage to revive my entire childhood in one video! And it's glorious! Tail Spin, Biker Mice From Mars, Street Fighter, Sherlock Holms, Jumanji, Pirates of Dark Water, these where my Saturday morning cartoons.
The thing I remember most about Cyber 6, the fact that it premiered alongside Escaflowne lol. Awww, yeah I remember Tailspin, it was so popular at the time that it did get incorporated into Disney Land. On the Train that travels all over the park, you would hear Baloo and Kit talking from Frontier Land to Fantasy Land. And there was a show in Fantasy Land that had chars from Tailspin, Rescue Rangers, and Ducktales in it and it was a musical show. 9-year old me loved it lol.
Growing up in the late 80s early 90s we easily had the best cartoons and movie and video games so much so that my wife and I decided to have are kids grow up watching the same shows movies and playing the same systems we grew up with so they understand how amazing it was growing up in the 90s :) Anyone remember street sharks loved that show lol
I don't remember some of these, but I loved Captain Simian, Biker Mice and Pirates of Darkwater. I was getting a little old in the late 90's so missed some of these.
12:04 this is one of many things i miss about cartoons; that certain art style. This type of art style is such eye candy to me (this is especially present in 2000's shows)
This has to be one of the biggest nostalgia trip ever. I remember watching almost all of these shows as a kid and love majority of them. Shame they don't get some good reboots.
Boy some nostalgia! I remember watching Sherlock Homes in the 21st century back in middle school which was on Qubo in the evening. Sad to hear Qubo go, I mostly grew up more with it than PBS kids because I wanted to avoid the school stuff, it would be great to see it come back or some similar channel that would air some classics.
I loved Xtreme Dinosaurs and Street Sharks so much. Also LOVED anything that was animated Street Fighter. I didn't really get to see this cartoon but I do vaguely remember there being animated movies or a series that was darker, always on late at night on HBO or Starz and I wanted to watch it from beginning to end so bad.
Regarding Nathan Fillian, a lot of us were introduced to him as Caleb the Servant in season 7 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which was before Firefly. 😉 Also, Pirates of Dark Water was one of my absolute FAVOURITE cartoon series of all time. And the Jumanji art style seems to have influenced the Nickelodeon series The Wild Thornberry's.
Except, you're entirely wrong. Firefly aired from September of 2002 until December of 2002 before it was cancelled with the remaining episodes never airing at that time, and Fillion's Caleb did not appear on Buffy until April of 2003 for the series' final 5 episodes. Fillion was very much given the role of Caleb as a consolation after Firefly's cancellation.
Jonny Quest is missing from the list. The 60s series was a game changer and the potential the 90s rebooted series had is undeniable. Also, the episodes made in the 80s were there, i guess.
This is amazing!! I had forgotten most of these shows to be honest but I use to love them as a kid in the 90's!! Thank you so much for bringing back all these incredible memories!! Btw I was a kid in the 90's in Brazil, and watched all these shows as well, go figure 😄
I was probably considered a little too old for cartoons at the time but I loved the cartoons in the 90's I was 11 years old in 1990 Ha Talespin hell yes!!
I remember watching Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys back in the 90s when I was very young as the series broadcast on CITV, I really wished the seris is finally released onto complete DVD just like Road Rovers, Mummies Alive, Street Sharks and Extreme Dinosaurs.
I didn't think that Talespin was underrated, now Pirates of Dark Water is underrated and it was left unresolved. Street Fighter the Animated Series had that feel and tone of G.I. Joe from the 1980s and it came out the same time as Darkstalkers all because of the success of Mega Man from 1994. I know some cartoons that underrated, Piggsburg Pigs as well as Gravesdale High, Darkstalkers, and of course Monster Force which came out alongside with Season 2 of ExoSquad and should have been used as the base for Universal's Dark Universe as well.
Have you ever done a deep dive into that cult Canadian kid's TV show from 1992-1994, The Odyssey? It's 3 seasons of the dreamlike, sometimes bizarre adventures of the young 11-year old Jay Zeigler who goes into a coma after falling from a tree fort and hitting his head, and into a quest in both realities to find his missing, presumed dead, Father. I loved it as a kid, and still re-watch it now!
I kind of outgrew watching cartoons in the early 2000s but Invader Zim was that one show I absolutely loved that kept me watching Nickelodeon for a bit. That show was so short lived. My guess it's because they felt it was too dark and edgy or it being too expensive.
Tail Spin was epic and also a surprise that despite how many episodes there are it only lasted one single season. Pirates of Dark Waters was also a childhood fav. I also remember waking up and sitting with my dad on Saturday mornings watching Biker Mice from Mars
So sad that Swat Katz revival donation drive didn't went as expected. I wonder if there will be a reboot for Biker Mice as well. We have been getting so many great reboots like Animaniacs, Ducktales and TMNT.
This is a good list, Captain Simian & the Space Monkeys, Biker Mice From Mars, Bucky O'Hare, Double Dragon and too many cartoons did not have long enough. I'm glad Biker Mice had a follow up series. It's a shame some of the others haven't been revisted.
I really miss ExoSquad and Xtreme Ghostbusters, both had awesome stories and diverse, deep, casts of characters. Few shows made me think as deeply as those. I liked Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars too, though it was no where near the same quality. I actually watched as many cartoons and anime as I could, up until it all moved to cable and the regular tv blocks died out. It really makes me sad that shows are so consistently locked behind paywalls nowadays. I feel bad for kids that live below the poverty line and don't have the opportunity to enjoy these shows like we did; but I suppose that's what books and playing outside (~shudders~) is for...
The only thing I remember about the Pirates of Dark water is that the monkey-bird "Niddler" was a complete junkie for pomegranates and minga-melons (kinda like watermelon). I really only recall that because I remember begging my mom to buy me one (pomegranate) so I could see what the fruit tasted like. Btw..... tasted amazing. Niddler knew what he was talking about!
I think Monster Force is another forgotten, underrated show that deserves a nod too. The animation and character designs were awful. But the story, background music, voice acting, and just overall atmosphere were quite good. It was more mature than it appeared on the surface. And this coming from a life long anime fan! Speaking of anime, the 90's was not really the period when anime began to make a huge mark on the West. Maybe in North America and other English speaking countries. But anime was already pretty big in Europe (outside UK and Ireland) since at least the 80's.
Great list man. Nostalgia overload. My favorite was Exo Squad. I had lots of the toys when I was a kid and recently started watching it again with my son and he loves it too. It was so good, almost structured like an anime with it's continuous ongoing plot and heavy social themes. The characters were awesome too. Gonna hunt down some of the figures I had when I was a kid.
I had all the action figures and motorcycles of biker mice. I absolutely loved that show. Also Cadillac and Dinosaurs was my favourite arcade game back in my day
I think it's a bot doing the voice over. It also seems to have trouble with other certain words and it pronounces Maurice LaMarche as "Morris Lamarsh". Most of these listicle channels have bots doing the voice overs, but they're often fairly convincing.
Another couple of great ones: King Arthur and the Knights of Justice and COWboys of Moo Mesa…I wished my children had good quality cartoons like these to watch.
Biker Mice from Mars was one of Ian Ziering's first voice acting Vinnie was the man or should i say mouse lol that i fell in love with as a kid the other was Wildwing Flashblade the team captain in Mighty Ducks: The Animated Series and i'm surprised that this show didn't make the list as it only lasted one season and ended on such a cliffhanger
forgot about xtreme dinosaurs wow. list made me think of my favorites, Mighty Max, Street Sharks, Highlander animated series, Gargoyles. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Biker Mice From Mars was my show for real, great memories. Another one that's not on here is Toxic Crusaders, loved that one too.
I become a big fan of "Swat Cats" after watching reruns on the boomerang channel! 🚀🐱🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Biker Mice from Mars!✨💯🙌🏾 That one was my second hero after TMNT
So crazy how this list unlock these forgotten memories. I love it!
Road Rovers was also a pretty under rated cartoon from the 90s, in my opinion.
Growing up in the late 80s early 90s we easily had the best cartoons and movie and video games so much so that my wife and I decided to have are kids grow up watching the same shows movies and playing the same systems we grew up with so they understand how amazing it was growing up in the 90s :)
Anyone remember street sharks loved that show lol
Love Extreme Ghostbusters!! I watched all the episodes on RUclips.
I was wondering if there would be references to Extreme Ghostbusters in the current film (Afterlife).
Spoiler Alert: there aren't.
I don't remember some of these, but I loved Captain Simian, Biker Mice and Pirates of Darkwater. I was getting a little old in the late 90's so missed some of these.
Man this brings back some good memories
12:04 this is one of many things i miss about cartoons; that certain art style. This type of art style is such eye candy to me (this is especially present in 2000's shows)
Visionary was one of the best shows I've seen growing up that got canceled to soon.
Also earthworm jim is another gem
Visionaries were amazing and yet it was a 1980s cartoon that came out a year after Inhumanoids.
Earthworm Jim was one of my favorite cartoons. Don't make stuff that cool anymore.
@@feck2594 did you hear that they are going to do another animated series.
@@stainshield no but that's great , hope it's good.
Gargoyles was epic. Curious how Street Sharks held up - can’t be good haha
Street sharks hell yeah
Always pissed off my girlfriend when I'd get up early to watch Biker Mice From Mars. 🙀
Jonny Quest is missing from the list. The 60s series was a game changer and the potential the 90s rebooted series had is undeniable. Also, the episodes made in the 80s were there, i guess.
They brought it back thou
Extreme Ghostbusters are my (most) favorite here in this video
👍👍👍
This is amazing!! I had forgotten most of these shows to be honest but I use to love them as a kid in the 90's!! Thank you so much for bringing back all these incredible memories!! Btw I was a kid in the 90's in Brazil, and watched all these shows as well, go figure 😄
I really like Rebecca from talespin
I was probably considered a little too old for cartoons at the time but I loved the cartoons in the 90's I was 11 years old in 1990 Ha Talespin hell yes!!
I remember watching Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys back in the 90s when I was very young as the series broadcast on CITV, I really wished the seris is finally released onto complete DVD just like Road Rovers, Mummies Alive, Street Sharks and Extreme Dinosaurs.
This video hit me right in the childhood :) thank you for making it
I didn't think that Talespin was underrated, now Pirates of Dark Water is underrated and it was left unresolved.
I loved it as a kid, and still re-watch it now!
oohhh... I loved watching that show about the duality of the concious and unconcious...
I kind of outgrew watching cartoons in the early 2000s but Invader Zim was that one show I absolutely loved that kept me watching Nickelodeon for a bit. That show was so short lived. My guess it's because they felt it was too dark and edgy or it being too expensive.
Both are reasons and Invader Zim is an instant classic
That and the creators claim to fame was an underground comic called "Johnny the Homicidal Maniac"
Invader Zim is one of those shows that would've been a lot more successful in the 90s especially on MTV.
@@jamesjohnston1935 that’s badass
@@jamesjohnston1935 JTHM was pretty sick and cool... immediately thought of that comic the first time I saw invader zim...
I knew everything but Cadilacs and Dinosaurs, thank you for the nostalgia trip.
The 90s' wouldn't have been anything without..... EARTHWORM JIM
I loved the intro song of earthworm jim... and the Sega game was awesome
I would like to add Street Sharks, Ronin Warriors, Wild C.A.T.S. and Ultraforce to this list of my awesome childhood cartoons.
Wild Cats had one of the most bad ass intro's ever.
Street Sharks should have definitely been longer. I loved that series and I'd love it if it were revived today.
Double Dragon is based on the video game and the movie of the same name.
Came here for Biker Mice from Mars. Loved this as a kid
The 90s = When every cartoon didn't look like Bob's Burgers yet.
Biker Mice, SF animation were my favorites, X-men animation, Spider-man animated series, 90's cartoons were really good.
I was always a huge fan of Mummies Alive. Pretty neat concept that had some pretty deep and philosophical themes. Same with Mad Max.
I meant Might Max, lol
Bucky O’Hare!!!!!!!! Loved it!
Love the list, but it's missing;
* Bucky O'Hare & The Toad Wars
* Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm
* ExoSquad
I really enjoyed SWAT Kats and Pirates of Dark Water more than any other show on the list.
Pirates of Dark Water was one of the greatest cartoons ever .
I said this exact thing
The shows here are based in the US so anime inspiration was made during that time
Great list man.
I used to watch Extreme Dinosaurs! I loved that series.
A whole roster of gems. I've seen all of these and I've tracked down, harvested, and archived them all in my personal library.
Frank Welker should have reprised his role as Slimer.
I had all the action figures and motorcycles of biker mice. I absolutely loved that show. Also Cadillac and Dinosaurs was my favourite arcade game back in my day
Pirates of Dark Water was really good. Too bad we never got to see the end.
Also Ioz starts with an i it’s pronounced “Eye-Oz”
I think it's a bot doing the voice over. It also seems to have trouble with other certain words and it pronounces Maurice LaMarche as "Morris Lamarsh". Most of these listicle channels have bots doing the voice overs, but they're often fairly convincing.
I enjoyed every min of this video... Memories. Being a kid in the 90's was truly the best. Classic toons 4sure
Swat cats was my fav out of all of em
As Long As These Shows Aired I’m Glad There’s Sites To Watch Every One Of These Shows
Love Tail Spin!
Another couple of great ones: King Arthur and the Knights of Justice and COWboys of Moo Mesa…I wished my children had good quality cartoons like these to watch.
Please. „Demonic Entities from the Outcasts TV-Show explained“
90s cartoons awesome and action packed today 😴
This was a pretty cool list and had shows that I actually forgot about! But how does this list NOT have Gargoyles?!
Wouldn't the golden age of cartoons be the 80's? 90's be the silver age and the bronce age would fall under the early 2000's?
80’s wasn’t as expansive as the 90’s in cartoons. Maybe in anime the 80’s would be considered the golden age but not cartoons
Swat Kats was amazing. You forgot a cartoon though. Street Sharks. Loved that show
The comic book art style that these shows had was great it makes the show look badass and give it lively feeling something which lacks today.
Biker mice was actually a marvel property and had comic issues of the first episodes
Just perfect, thanks for your amazing content 🤓
forgot about xtreme dinosaurs wow. list made me think of my favorites, Mighty Max, Street Sharks, Highlander animated series, Gargoyles. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
