Yeah, as much as some of the finals community will probably hate to accept it, you’re completely right about the final round needing a total overhaul. 3v3 is the most competitive form of this game, and currently it’s just… weird. And it always has been. It’s weird getting wiped, waiting for 25 seconds, spawning in a random or incoherent spot, and having an inconsistent amount of time to steal depending on when you wiped the first time. It will always be a weird interaction when you get wiped the first time and just barely don’t have enough time to steal back, but simultaneously you feel like you do and so you go to the point just to “ego fight.” It’s just off. I think your idea is amazing where we turn final round into a more “round-based” approach sort of similar to TA where if your team wipes, then both teams reset and a new point spawns. Another similar idea I had could be that when you wipe the attacking team, you automatically win that point and a new vault starts spawning. That way they can reduce the respawn timers without ability cooldowns feeling unfair. They could also then extend the game to a best of 5 cashouts or so to make it even out. That idea wouldn’t actually fundamentally change the mode at all and would probably be a pretty easy change for Embark to make or test. It would keep the mode familiar but also make it way more fair and less awkward.
Nah has to be cashout because it’s how the game is played. I’ve beat much better teams. I beat a team with a light having 17 kills I think but we clutched it out and won.

Congrats on your success this year man. About the Finals, I feel like S5 is the first season that is better than the one before it other than maybe S2. That is to say it's the first time in a while I've felt like the game is heading in the right direction.
Spitballing here. Literally just had this idea, so don't lynch me for it. Thinking about how to fix the issues with plug meta that you were talking about. What if defenders earned additional money by getting kills within a radius of the cashout that they currently hold, whether or not they end up winning that cashout? It could help even the playing field in the event that one team gets 2 free cashouts while another team has to fight the other two teams for theirs?

Griefing is what made me step away from this game right now. I've experienced the exact scenario you explained with being the second place team all round then getting griefed last minute so many times. Almost always happens when there is a ruby team in the lobby and they get a free first cash out because no one wants to push them. The solo experience is hard enough without a coordinated group sabotaging you and ultimately being punished for playing well. I think everyone's ranks and seeds need to be hidden in Ranked other than your own team. Then it should be visable after a knockout or win
My main worry about the game is that they havent done a good job making it casual friendly. Even in quick cash you got some sweaty ahh people lol. Alot of us have 1000+ hours and whenever new people trickle in it can be a daunting task for them.
I can 100% agree! I’m a season 2 diamond player who’s been playing since season 1 and I’m getting pared up with people who have like 1 or 2 wins. Incredibly unfair and unfun for them, I wish to see a changer
only thing I hope for (as prio) is better solo matchmaking, match solo with other pure solo players nothing more frustrating and wanting to quit this game than losing because u got the bad duo while playing multiple trios in comms. For that its mostly just "complete the season pass and move on" - the game

As a solo player, 3 out of every 4 games is for sure going to be a couple of handicapped teammates like I’m supposed to carry them somehow to improve THEIR experience while I suffer. I’ve noticed it’s almost always newer players when they do this lop-sided matchmaking. Maybe it would be good to have a newcomers playlist?
I agree, I'm highly frustrated to face 3 stack premades that mostly wins because of the advantage of being 3 organized friends vs 3 solo players playing 3-4 games one night, especially in high elo. Solo queue would be so much more healthier, but I guess maybe the low playerbase doesn't permit them to go for a "solo" queue and a "trio" queue separate modes.
@@cerseihansen7219 it would only be a couple abilities that need reducing such as rpg and jump pad which are both 40s+ atm. Maybe not jump pad since if you win a fight you can just go and pick up the pad to get it back but I think reducing rpg cd is fair

Thank you for bringing up the third partying. Perhaps if you could try to explain it visually for people who are not high plat and above that would be great. Right now I feel like there is a knowledge gap between lower ranks and anyone fighting for top 500 for example and not by any fault of their own, it is just something you notice the more you play. The griefing this season is insane, and if you are already D3-D2 you get free wins because people who are lower ranks avoid you in the lobbies which is crazy as it allows the #1 team to grief easier.
As a heavy main i use the spear with smokes, domeshield and movement detectors to counter invs its work's really well throw a smokes and dome shield in chasouts just spamming right click when they try to steal 😎 or thow the smokes while reviving instead of domeshield

I'm convinced the devs only play light. The changes to quick play have made the mode unplayable for me, and with that being the main mode of the game for casual players like me I don't see the community being able to grow. You can see this in the most recent season with the player fall off being faster then any previous season.
So I think the solution to the "plug" meta lies in that "wildcard" feature they did during that last tournament that was streamed. Not 100% sure on how to do it, but it would be an interesting X factor for games.

Imho, we really need some sort of anti-cheat. Being able to report people isn't enough. I thought this and had someone else in a game mention it as well. No level 11, with 20 wins and 400 elims, should be melting me in 5 shots. I dont care how good of a gamer you are, im 35, been playing video games since 1994 on windows 3.1.4. Im a 5 season vet with almost 900 hours on console... I know a cheater when i play against a cheater. Im an above average solo ue player. When you go an entire match, in any game mode without so much as a tick of damage, like im talking, 0 kills and +10 deaths. I know you're using a cronos. When i know im fully around a corner, and somehow a shot still hits me for that last tic of health, i know you're using a cronos. Modded PS4s have been a thing for a while, and i know people have started to mod PS5s. But when you literally go out and pay for a device to help you get kills in a game that supposed to be fun, you ruin the game for people like me who helped get this game to where it is now. For the last three seasons, i can honestly say i haven't had as much fun as i did the first two seasons because it was a lesser known game, where people played with honor because it was something different and fun. Now its like anything else where you have kids with massive ego's who just want to be "top 500" in a game that 10 year long CoD enthusiasts probably missed the reveal trailer at the game awards a year ago that their willing to cheat and grief in just to feel good about their miserable lives.

Have to disagree. Revive sickness punishes bad team play and prevents, to a degree, fib chaining. If your teammate fibs you in a bad spot you should die. That’s an inherent trait of the gadget. Unless you want the reviver to like take any damage done to the revivee for like 8 seconds or whatever. Sure you could argue that the revivee is “punished” with another death and a reset of their token timer, but not sure why that really matters in a team game scenario. I would hate for them to not have death after a revive to not reset your token countdown. That would just punish the team winning the fight which is even more unfair. The real solution is to just give the fib the recon senses treatment and delete it from the game and replace it with something else.

Wildcard sounds like a terrible idea IMO. Ex: Triple Medium can’t use Defib how do you counter HML with wildcard; hell nah

plug meta is good imo... plugging the box used to be a thankless and counterproductive job, but someone has to do it for the game to advance

You call it "griefing out" to make the 2nd place team lose by double stacking for 3rd or 4th place but that just seems like the strategic play to me ? Why would you not try to make the less dominant team proceed to the final round, it boosts your chances of winning said final round.
