There are tons of Japan videos on RUclips but nothing can beat yours they are casual, not scripted, and just natural, if that makes any sense. And I know I said it before but your choice of music man, you have a talent for that ! Anyway really enjoy these videos Jim, it hit me right trought my nostalgic heart when I see the places I went before .
Thank you! I added a track list to the description if you'd like to listen to the music by itself. I just try to find music that matches the visuals and tone I'm going for.
always love these walking around Japan videos! even just seeing the buildings and signs and stuff outside of all the videogame stuff is really neat! would definitely love to visit someday, though.
I always enjoy the night time better than the day Jim. I'm actually a night owl that does my shopping from 10PM-3AM. Don't have to deal with crowds, traffic, and everything is restocked for the day trippers that have their routine to go along bro. Plus, I like the silents in my area when everyone is mostly asleep too 8^) Anthony..

Thanks for making videos like this. I visited Japan this time 2 years ago, and you’ve visited a lot of places which I also visited - including this area of Shinjuku area where my AirBnB was located. I’m reliving my favourite time through your content!
Great video! Thanks for the info and shots. Are these arcades also crowded during the day or is it more of a night thing? Just curious to compare to how it is in the US. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Don't think I've ever been to Yestron though... not sure if they had that when I lived there. They for a while had a retro arcade across from Seibu Shinjuku station that wasn't very spacious but had many floors. It unfortunately closed down only after a few years of me living there, but it was pretty cool, tons of retro arcade games!
I live about 10 minutes from Shinjuku and I'm happy with that. I live in a quiet neighborhood but whenever I want to I can head down to the loud and busy streets of Shinjuku.
Been to Japan 7 times, always pay a visit to these Shinjuku arcades to play ufo catchers and Street Fighter 4. Claw tip, the prong furthest away from the prize is often the strongest.
Awesome video man and thanks for bringing us along. I’m planning on visiting Japan next year with my brother and his girlfriend. The majority of Japanese people seem to have so much mutual respect compared to most Americans. Cheers!
I've been to Shinjuku SportsLand this summer! Wanted to play some Tekken but I found their levers a little bit too flimsy for my taste. Still, great arcade. Nice video as always!
I’ll be staying in Shinjuku one week in april, moody and helpful video! Now that you visit many arcades, have you seen a War-Zard/ Red Earth machine lately? Always been curious about that fighter and would love to try it if I find it in Tokyo...
I still find it odd that you can smoke in these arcades. I mean not every floor but the important floors (arcade games!) you can...how's the smell? Is it really bad or do they filter the air fairly well?
Shinjuku Taito by the east exit was my main arcade when I was last in Japan. I’m actually moving to Tokyo next month. Let’s meet at an arcade sometime.
Wow, brings back tons of memories man. I used to do the exact same thing. I actually lived in Shinjuku though, so it makes sense. Mostly went to Taito on Shinjuku-Dori (or is it Yasukuni?) and the arcades in Kabukicho.
Nice. Your channel tricked the RUclips algorithm into showing me Japanese ads for a railway system damaged by an earthquake. I'll take that over American ads any day of the week.
Nice Vid dude. Those Arcade Machines looks dope as fuck. No Wonder why they are so popular. If i had this up herer in my local town, i would get straight addicted xD
I know the USA has some sega arcades of sorts but any taito? Sadly most arcades here are redemption game mainstream non gamer type places :( some places don't even have arcades at all fortunately barcades with the classics have popped up
For that view you'll need to go up to the observation deck of Tokyo Sky Tree. The song is a remix of "Leave Alone", Dudley's stage theme from Street Fighter III 2nd Impact. Links in the description.
The only issue I have with this arcade is that the air conditioning is not strong and it is a smoking-allowed arcade so the basement floors really reek of smoke scents...
I wish they have arcades in shinokubo shinjuku they have!?!? I wish they if they have arcade game centers in shinokubo shinjuku I hope they have it!?!?

i like how he edited in some retro game commercial every now and then.
true nostalgic....

I agree the music always compliment what's going on. I've already started binge watching his vids.
These videos never cease to blow me away. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you man for documenting all of this!

I love to go to Shinjuku, Tokyo one day to check out the arcades
Thanks for showing us around Kamurocho

Would have been nice to see some Yakuza around

Your videos are always great, but your music selection is awesome too. Could you list the tracks you use in the description? That would be the best!

Cool vid! I'm glad I ran across this channel. I can use these as a guide when I visit Tokyo :)
So I'm guessing that the arcades in Akihabara are the only one that carry the exclusive anime prize figures then.
Don't know if they're the only ones, but they have an abundance.
you get a like for the streets of rage music alone
Much appreciated.
I’ll be staying in Shinjuku one week in april, moody and helpful video!

Your videos are phenomenal!
15:09 Didnt know this beat out of nowhere got the attention until now. Thank you for the support man
Youre editing is on point, Love your style, music is really nice too
The music in 4:38 is obviously The Bubble Man stage in Megaman 2!
I still find it odd that you can smoke in these arcades. I mean not every floor but the important floors (arcade games!) you can...how's the smell? Is it really bad or do they filter the air fairly well?
Hmm, if you hate the smell of smoke then you might find it a bit overwhelming, but I'm a bit of a bar fly so it doesn't bother me.
Heavenly goodness!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😵😬
This makes me want to play Yakuza LOL
I missed japan
The best Part of this Video are those advertising from the 70s/80s xD
I need to go there bad
gonna be staying in shinjuku for 4 days so definitely gonna check this stuff out....how late do they stay open?
11 or midnight I think.
Awesome video!!!

Shinjuku Taito by the east exit was my main arcade when I was last in Japan. I’m actually moving to Tokyo next month. Let’s meet at an arcade sometime.
Love your videos btw. IT really helps me see what it might be like once I am able to come there. Stupid covid stopped my plans :(
Hello Jim I always wanted to know what is the respond in Japan to USA games like God of War or the New Spiderman for the ps4? Are they popular ?
?
Western developed games usually don't do all that well here for whatever reason.
Have you seen an arcade that has the real old stuff? Like your Galagas and Donkey Kongs? Or do things start at the 90’S there?
Yeah, there are dedicated retro arcades here with classic 80's games, but they're less common.
What an amazing country!
or city? He did a video about "most of Japan isn't like Tokyo and cute stuff" sort of thing.
Absolutely LOVED this video. Lol everytime with the random commercials. Thank you !
Anyone knows the song name at 11:13?
This one is Hypervirtua by EsGi.

Pretty much any game store or electronic store will have PlayStation and Nintendo stuff.
Are there any more arcades there with a decent retro game selection like in Taito Hey or Mikado?
