They should just have the first 2 presents give you the sweaters and after that just give ammo and money
That would be nice
Even if they wanted a sense of randomness to it, they could of scripted a fail safe. Every 5 presents picked up is guaranteed to be a sweeter you don't have.

I’am a solo player, since I started gta online 3-4 years ago. I like being a solo grinder. But minimum requirement of 2 players in a session for a event is very disappointing and i’am very disappointed. Why R* why is everything more difficult than it already is?????

I've given up trying on the PC, cuz none of my friends play anymore and the public lobbies are full of script kiddies bombing, teleporting, giving max wanted level or just straight booting you out to singleplayer. A couple sweaters and an outfit aren't worth the hassle.

It would be better if when it drops a present anyone can collect it within a certain time but even if someone else collects it another player can also collect it, kinda like the collectibles where anyone can get them regardless if someone else grabbed it
I agree with that cause then it would be fair for the like 2-10 people trying to get it, and especially if people couldn’t kill others while participating in the event
@@sethrohitheflo exactly i tried getting presents for a 6 hours one day and was able to get let a total of five cause half the people are using scramjets, oppressors, deluxos and you can’t participate in the event in passive mode so i would just get killed even when im being friendly and just trying to get presents when the rewards are barely worth it
It also doesn't even gift credit to all players in a vehicle, only the driver, it would be more fun with friends pilled into a vehicle for it to count for everyone
Occasionally I think it glitches and drops a present per each person following at random times. Other times its at the same time for every one and its whoever picks it up first. My only gripe about this event is sometimes gifts drop but don't show up yet leave a marker on the map, and other times get stuck midair and you cant reach them
I agree. After all, it's Christmas for cryse sake! 😡
To be honest, my first try never had issues. I travelled next to a friendly player and they followed my idea to call in Phantom Wedge with me. I didn't care for any loot, cash or ammo. I prefer friendly interactions in GTA Online.

For me, I got assaulted by a Oppressor Mk II user and Toredor when I got near the truck. And then they attacked each other.
some guy rammed the truck off the road and we just stood behind it while it was stuck in trees
@@tony42898I used the 6x6 acid lab, it gives zero fucks about jet powered broomsticks. Still took me a couple of lobbies to get the Sprunk sweater but I had fun getting it.

Shit was so easy. I Never had a problem with the truck. At times I was the only one chasing the truck and getting all the gifts
The Gooch event is pissing me off. Several hours already waiting on him
I definite feel your frustration on this, though I also found it fun to mess with the truck and watch what weird stuff might happen to it.
In one caseit wigged out and kepet teleporting randomly, I was laughing too hard t ocare about the gifts.
Cant be any worse then sitting in a session for 5 hours just for the gooch to never come and completely glitch out

I kind of understand your point. For me was waiting for The Gooch. On the first lobby I joined I waited like 1h for him to spawn and nothing, meanwhile I had to escape s grieffer and being careful because there was a modder in the lobby. I then changed to another lobby with 5 people and 3 of them logged out, luckily one person didn't and I could k*ll The Gooch around 10min after I joined.
I got the Gooch while I was going for the yeti so I got both at the same time lmao

Last year I didn't get the Gooch mask because of the horrible design of the event and because the one time I DID have the Gooch try to rob me, it effing glitched out. Hadn't had the Gooch spawn on me this year either, mostly because I do the salvage yard heists and other stuff during which the Gooch doesn't spawn. All in all it's just a pain in the a** for me lol.

I got both sweaters following it for like 5 total minutes, (Edit- yea I managed to get it on one truck I feel bad for people who suffer for this and yes its stupid how those presents can be flying and I have even had some be showing on the map but it I believe spawns under the map or not at all, but merry Christmas everyone!)
Took me 3-4 trucks to get the sprunk sweater. But both times it was the first gift dropped by the truck
same for me i both in the first 10 minutes
Took me a total of 30 minutes I saw my money go from 9k then up to 11k per drop I got the other jacket on the second truck
There was a event during the PS3/Xbox360 days. Where u would have a circle appear on the map. An a timer counting down for the crate to be dropped. An by the time it had dropped, there was 6 players killing each other over it. Its what created mini wars back in the day. An they had MUCH more item's in that crate.
Those were the days. Everyone had to fight for it. This was before freemode events and business battles came along. I forgot what the shirts were when u won.
This reminds me of my struggles to make the Die Hard event spawn and get the WM29 pistol. Back in 2022 I wasn't around GTA during Christmas and I was pretty pissed when I lost the chance to get the gun. So basically I've waited a whole year for the event to come back, and a whole day just to make it appear in a lobby just to realize how useless it is... Lol
My friend did the same but couldn't get the event to spawn. He was frustrated by this until he got to the gun shop and realize that he could just buy it lol
I got one of the two sweaters after following the holidays hauler but sometimes some of the presents will be floating in the air or be glitching out when I try to pick it up
I once had a glitch or game confusion happen the other day. were the hauler had its trailer disconnected when a player pushed the truck with a nightshark to where the trailer detached, and the truck stopped and then started driving around erratically without its trailer, and the trailer began spawning all over the place up and down the road for about a mile in matter of seconds by fort Zancudo trying to re-spawn in a favorable position creating small festive explosions when it spawns each time. The Truck eventually de-spawned along with the trailer then re-spawned connected together.

great video ghillie. Straight facts with this vid , I might as well been pegged multiple times trying to get these sweaters to spawn as well as the gooch. Spent hrs and nothing still. not spawning presents are glitched all the time
I finally got the gooch outfit and also I’ve got both of the exclusive sweaters.
I got both sweaters back to back. The few trucks I chased, me and the other 4 or 5 people that chased it, we alternated and took turns getting the gifts. Added some cool people thanks to the truck.
when the truck spawned in, me and my mate instantly tried to find ways to stop it, steal it, or force it into the ocean. that was the only fun we got from the christmas truck
I still can't believe I managed to get gooched in a full session. I did wait like 40 minutes just sitting around with cash but i still got insanely lucky
I got the Ecola one in an invite lobby with a friend. When he got off, I joined a public lobby with the truck already spawned and noticed a guy following it. I messaged him, letting him know that I wouldn’t attack him, and that we could alternate the presents. He was completely ok with it, and we did just that. Then another guy came up to it, and I messaged him the same text, and he was ok with it too. For those of you having a hassle with the event, sometimes texting the other players letting them know you’re friendly is enough to have a higher chance of earning the sweaters. It was the most wholesome experience I’ve ever had in GTAO. I completely agree that the one hour spawn time and having another player in the lobby is bullshit though. No reason why we can’t enjoy these events playing solo.
Surprisingly, I got these pretty quick not just twice, but 4 times for my ps5 and Xbox character, the only thing I kinda stressed about today, was just getting my homie to chill with me in a private sesh for the gooch on ps5, but I got everything I wanted, jus need to play entourage for the weapon skins

Managed to get lucky and get both within 2 trucks, but it was certainly not an easy process with how aggressive some players are about this, as well as the disappearing gifts.
I've only been able to get the ecola sweater and that took me 5 hours. Still can't get the gooch outfit even with only 2 players just won't spawn.
That was one of the most fun additions I can remember. Kept ramming it with the Acid Lab until it broke and disappeared
I completely agree. And you didnt even show the worst bugs when it comes to this event. For me it sometimes glitches out so much with many people around the truck, the blue icon keeps moving on the minimap but the truck itself gets stuck. Then the game fails to spawn it back in again, which just produces a lot of orange/green clouds on the map. might be some desync stuff, but for e this is unplayable
I like how you can actually push it around. Me and my friend pushed it In the water and glitched it out
The gooch was the worst for me. Second had to be the yeti. After finding all the clues and waiting in the middle of the road for the yeti to spawn like an idiot, it finally spawns, i heavy snipe him like 3 times as he rushes towards me, and right as its about to die some random loser runs me over AND the yeti, taking my kill. Thankfully i joined a new session fast enough and managed to get it to spawn again but that was bs, some people in this game have serious problems.
Lot of the players have mental issues.

Yea I feel you on this I got both sweaters in less than a hour of trying in two lobbies almost back to back after some attempts but when it comes to the gooch I’ve been trying for days 💀💀💀
I got a sweater once after like 50 boxes. Half of them didn't even work.
Apocalypse death bake was useful, you can just jump on top of the truck and wait.
I've found you can flip the truck with the wedge so I trapped it in the barriers between the roads and just waited there until I get one of the sweeter.
I feel you're pain, i was in a lobby with my brother trying to get the gooch to spawn. My brother got attacked by the Gooch 3 times, and after about 3 hours just as we were about to log off i was finally attacked by it
I got the e-cola sweater first present, and the sprunk sweater dropped for me when I was taking turns grabbing presents with a player. Every other time I tried to get presents I got blown up by oppressors and deluxo’s which makes me glad I got them when I did. After I got the sweaters there was no reason to follow the truck.
The first and second gift I got from the truck was the sprunk and ecola sweater. However I didn't get the gooch until 12-29. And I have had the gifts freeze in the air and not be able to get them.
The best way on how I survived these truck events is to use a Imani tech vehicle makes all the other players lock on to each other

As a solo player, events like this are always a pain. None of my friends want to touch GTA Online's crusty-a** ever again, and it should be self-explanatory why public sessions are a no-go...
I loved the Black Ops 3 Loot Boxes. For that reason it's my most played CoD still to this day. It always kept me grinding for something.
i managed to get one of the jumpers after multiple lobbies. however the first lobby i entered had 3 people in the same organisation following the truck in nightsharks just hogging it.
I followed this truck for so long the music is burned into my head xD
Agreed, I had similar experience getting sweaters and the gooch outfit. The weapon skins force you to play jobs I wouldn’t otherwise do but I prefer explicit requirements to randomness.
Never got it cause I’m always in an invite only session by myself so be glade you got it!
Yeah i saw a war go on over that truck earlier. My issue was the gooch spawn, i was in a lobby for 2hrs and didn’t see it. Then a new ceo joins and it goes to him. That’s ass, but eventually i got him….. the next day

I was lucky to know someone who was afk'ing the LS Car Meet in a closed lobby. I went to theirs and waited for the event to spawn and followed the truck by myself. Got to Paleto Bay before I got the sweater but all the packages worked. Then shortly after got the Gooch to spawn also!
I got the ecola sweater right away. It took me a few sessions and a lot of battling to get the sprunk sweater. I had one session where I followed the truck almost from start to finish, and no sweater. Strange thing is some of the glitched packages for me, my buddy was able to pick up no problem
Followed one truck and got all drops (except the bugged ones) and only got the e cola sweater. It took forever since it even took a turn back in Paleto Bay and again on the highway near Grapeseed.
Or instead of the truck for the twelve days for Christmas there is a present containing a unique reward that’s hidden and you get a picture through the email like the revolver one
I, personally, had zero issues getting the sweaters, got them both in the same lobby from my first/second presents from the hauler while I was doing the new Chop Shop robberies. My issue was the players, they all kept running to it and hogging the presents, and at one point glitched the hauler out by disconnecting the trailer somehow, causing the truck to have a seizure trying to spawn back in. The Yeti event was pretty cool, though, but having to wait for an hour after getting all the clues when it wasnt night for the Yeti to spawn was a nightmare.
I literally waited 4 hours with one of my friends in a private session for the gooch to spawn on me, the previous 3 times gooch just go and spawn on my friend 3 times back to back
was playing with friends in an invite only, one boosting into it with the vigilante and disconnected the trailer. the truck then spent the next few minutes trying to fix this issue and it was rampantly teleporting across the entire city.
Was the Gooch event as tedious as the one from last year. I usually don’t try to win these because of how crazy the events are.
Its the same event. Last year I couldn't get it to appear for the life of me, this year it was easier. RNG be like.
Saw someone mentioned that you can land your deluxo on the truck. I verified that it works. You can basically just park there and you automatically pick up the gifts when they are dropped. I did have to tap forward every couple of minutes as the car slowly inches towards the back of the truck. Otherwise I could get up and get a drink or walk around while the truck circled the map. (Friend lobby obviously)
I had two really good lobbies for this event. I ran up to the hauler and there was two other people driving behind it, right up until a crew of three idiots in an Insurgent pick up came in hot just to kill everyone. I killed one and everyone else jumped on the crew while I just drove away unscathed. Had one other friendly player while we drove along we swapped with each other after every package dropped to keep it even. Second session, since I didn't have the ecola sweater, no one cared about the truck and I just collected everything for 3/4 of the total route.
I am indeed one of those lucky ones this year to get both sweaters & the Gooch outfit at their first instances. Not as much for previous Festive Surprise rewards, but my RNG wasn't too bad for the most part.
I went in a lobby it spawned and i grabbed my mk 2 there were 4 ghosted deluxos surrounding the truck!
I gave thst truck the tism when i hit it with the phantom wedge plus i think you can attach to the trailer if you're fast enough.
I got both of my sweaters and a bunch of dumb cash and ammo, so decided to have fun. I got out my Phantom Wedge and started knocking it off the road. after a while it just freaks out and the driver will go the wrong way or crash weirdly. So fun!
Daum didn’t know I was lucky getting a sweater on my first run in with the truck lol
I played for hours and hours today. Every hauler spawn was being followed by tanks and oppressors wrecking everyone and trying to destroy the truck. Half of the gifts were glitched as well. I didn’t even consider joining a new session. Just missed out. I guess I’ll try again tomorrow. Thanks!
The first time i found the truck it was almost about to get to Legion Square and end the event. And the only gift that dropped before despawning gave me the eCola sweater. The second time i had to follow it to paleto bay to get the Sprunk sweater. And then, i requested the MOC and show it who has the biggest di- truck, who has the biggest truck.
Regardless, still a lot more fun that trying to spawn the goddamn gooch.
At least your truck didn't purposely get stuck so many times. Mine fell off the zancudo bridge, kept crashing on the gas station by paleto and more. Truck only dropped 2 collectable gifts. The other ones were floating or were invisible.
i seem to be the only one who even bothers to get the presents in the sessions i’m in and didn’t even know it was possible to get a sweater until this video. i don’t know how many presents i’ve already opened. 😭😭
I was lucky to get the both sweaters after 5 presents and my lobby was very good and everyone was taking turns getting them one after another. I can however see how terribly wrong this can go and it can be annoying if you have a bad lobby, bad luck, or both.

I got the gooch outfit by accident lol. I was just driving down the road and killed the grinch as it spawned in

My biggest problem with the holiday update was that it was just a lot of waiting. Wait for the truck. Wait for the Die Hard shootout. Wait for the Gooch. The Gooch alone took me over 4 hours to get because I think it bugged. I sat in 1 lobby for over 3 hours waiting for it to spawn and I'm pretty sure it just stopped spawning at one point. So I had to join a different lobby and wait another hour for it. The cherry on top was when I joined my friend and 5 minutes after joining the session the Gooch spawned on me again. Getting everything took me far longer than I was hoping and it was so boring.
I got the sprung sweater as he was talking bout the sweater dropping 💀💀.
for me i couldnt get the sweaters at all even after going for multiple trucks, but after a while i finally got it only after complaining about it for a while and was about to get off and when i got it it was only the sprunk sweater which the one i really wanted was the ecola sweater. i still dont have it yet but once i get it im never taking it off even in the shower

2 days ago I got the desired Sprunk sweater as well.. After I got the eCola one which I didn't fancy.
The fact that they make you sit and wait around just to maybe get a Gooch spawn is such BS. Was hoping they would change it this year but nope. These things needs to spawn more often.
You don't have to sit and wait. You can play the game lol. My friend got the Gooch to spawn on him while he was searching for Yeti clues.
get a friend in a lobby and have him sit in a building and you outside make sure to have money on you and dont be in any vehicle
Truck spawns too in invite. My bf was driving and me as passenger was getting all the drops. After 4 days trying, I finally got both sweaters almost in row. We had to split in 2 cars so he could get his gifts drops. We never had glitched drops. I also think that 60min is too long waiting. Gootch spawned just today, and we play every day at least 4h. From the pov of the overall festive events, I'm sad that the snowman hunt and the weazel didn't spawn anymore for us this year, cause we already have the items from last year. So what? Why R* didn't allow us to redo these events, as they did with the pumpkins?
Remember during the old days when there was cargo drops to get beer hats? You’d have to fight the whole lobby lol. I got 5/6 beer hats.
Also, events like damage, king of the castle, etc will not let you pick up the presents
It took me 3 trucks to get both sweaters. Usually, about 5 people follow it. It’s fun to goof with the randoms and the truck. I agree though, it’s stupid
I have discovered that sometimes, if you focus on one task too much it can become monotonous.
I was lucky to get the ecola sweater but the amount of time it took me is ridiculous I just need the sprunk sweater also a cop car is probably best to do this to get the npc cars out the way
For those having problem with this i have a tip for this one. It works for pc but i dont know about the consoles. U just need to lobby hop until u find a lobby with a hauler already driving around. Than just use the solo open lobby glitch with the task manager to get disconnected from all the other players in the lobby but still being in the lobby. Now u are in a solo lobby with the hauler driving around and u just have to collect the presents without having to fight off anyone. I got my second sweater this way

Me and my friend was in a closed friends only lobby, he had no idea of how the holiday truck starts or how it drops gifts he thought we coudl kill the driver lol, but I told him we need to follow it and yes while we in seperate cars the drops glitched out and floated in the air many times so good idea but poor execution good job r*.
i rarely play gta 5 anymore but i hopped on the other day to get the yeti suit and maybe get a sweater. i saw the truck and 3 people in cars. blew them up immediately as the present came out. picked it up. sprunk sweater. i left the area and felt horrible lol
thankfully i was in a 3 man lobby and the person that was collecting presents with me was nice enough not to shoot at me or blow me up so i let him get some when he got left behind. a rare sight in a lobby.
There is also a glitch. The truck once stopped and infinitely dropped gifts. I got a couple of warning screens of "too many transactions" by just standing behind the truck.
I got lucky and just about every time I get on the truck event barely started or was about to, but there were people already following them most of the time. I got the sweaters on separate tries so it might be only 1; also both were half way thru it’s route. I think the Gooch is worse if you don’t have a friend to cheese it since it targets one player about every 45 minutes and may go after a person that joins after you. I waited in a low populated lobby until it was me and 2 others and walked from my arcade in Del Perro and reached LSC near the mall before he mugged me.

Very cool idea, not done very well, i agree. Thankfully, me and my friend were grinding in a friend only lobby when it spawned, we followed it, and it took about 10 minutes for each of us to get one of the sweaters, he got his first, and I actually didn't even know that there was a second one cuz I don't read the newswire immediately sometimes. Glad to know there are 2, but I probably won't go for the other one unless me and my friend just happen to be grinding and it appears again, but no lobby hopping for me, thank you.
I got both shirts the 2nd time I went around the map. But I did have to fight like hell with 4 other players from the Casino to just about Sandyshores😅

I agree with you 100% I have been trying all damn day to get the Weazel Plazza Shootout to spawn in also. I have been trying to get the stupid Gooch to spawn in as well kind of ridiculous to spend all day in multiple multiple of sessions to walk out empty-handed.
Why does everyone expect to get everything in one day on an event that is lasting for 2 weeks ???

Each truck should have dropped 1 sweater on it's journey. Just a case of having to follow it the entire route but you know it will drop one. I must have done the route 5 or 6 times to get both sweaters. Never had the floating glitch though. Did have the truck cab leave without the trailer and it stopped dropping them, trailer was stuck on a barrier when I approached it. I had to force the truck off the road using the phantom wedge when it respawned with the trailer but ended its journey before it reached del perro beach. So it's probably timed as well as the final location that causes it to vanish.
I got the gooch as soon as I spawned and both sweatshirts 10 mins in the session lol
You know Ghillie you brought back a horrible memory. Back in BO3 days, I always WANTED the HG-40(MP-40) but of course as you said I NEVER got it. I tried for years after it came out and never got it. My other two buddies got it as their first gun from the black market crates. Me?........ nope never got it. R.I.P. RNG is terrible in games
