@@Merryfrankster_ I ended up replacing it myself. On the 2010 the power steering is electric. All that needed replacing was just the rack itself. Took about 4 hours and 3 bottles of Gatorade to do it
Hi, what's the mileage on that car? Also could you do bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor on the rear exhaust manifold replacement? Is it difficult? There's none on youtube. Hope you enjoy this up coming Christmas.
It is not that difficult if you can get under the car. It's very easy if the car is on a lift. If you're trying to do it on your back with the car on jackstands, it could be difficult to reach.
There's a way to fix this in most cases by lubricating the slip joint! Worked on mine! Like new
On a 2010 toyota rav4, the rack and pinion wore out. This was accompanied by random low accelerations and a traction light that kept activating.
I have a 2008 RAV4 in the shop now that we had to buy a whole new rack and pinion. Old one developed too much play and could not be aligned.

Had this exact issue on my previous rav4. Sold it before i could figure out what caused it
