Akin Brown It's not discontinued, everyone is buying it lol. I have emailed Esky and they are working on it. There are other manufacturers with the same product www.amazon.com/dp/B01F3B91Y6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_f9uFzb3AT64G8
Hey Ray. Did you make a video on how you ran the wire ( video)to your srceen?? I'm thinking of going through drivers side floor panels..still haven't made it home too install yet.?But ,can't wait. Lol..thanks. ..Joe
+Raymond Urias ..I believe I did Raymond....My friend watching our place said,that a package had arrived. ..but,I won't be home until Tuesday...Can't wait!!! Lollll.thank you......Joe
Michael Shetler great that you brought that up! I have tried wireless installs in the past and find that they have ALOT of interference in cities. I know a few people speak highly of Peral Rearvision but at a price point of $500 its something alot of consumers dont want to pay... heck you could get a new Radio and camera for less in most situations.... with that being said Wiring isn't actually that bad. Just takes a little bit of patience and mapping 😀
Hey, can you make a video or explain how to plug the cabels in the radio? it wasn't really clear in the other video. thank you for the videos they help a lot:)
Boucif Reggani yes I have and it is SICK as Fuuuuudge. After I finish the appearance package I'll hit the sound system and install Android IOS... maybe lol
21:00 you mentioned camera #3 (radar cam) wasn't as good quality as the one you currently had installed on the Mercedes. Which camera is that? I want one with the highest video quality.
benefactionhindrance being honest it was a 2 way fight between the car Rover and Radar. You can't go wrong with either of them. I installed the one with Radar since quality was good and it had extra features. ruclips.net/video/X-gt8IOlSZo/видео.html
With the radar camera will you still be able to hear any audio Tone If you do not use the buzzer? I would like to install this vehicle in a pickup truck just not certain on the use of the buzzer and where to locate it due to the short distance of the buzzer chord.
+Eric Alfred great question you can use any buzzer you wish (I personally find this one very satisfying) as long as it has positive and negative leads. You will have to cut the old buzzer off and extended the cables for your truck and solder on the new buzzer if you change it.
+Raymond Urias ..I was thinking that I could run power to backup lights.and, then run (yellow video cable) to head unit..And then hook that little red wire to reverse signal..what's your thoughts??
The little red wire is a 12v lead. Some installers like to get the reverse signal from within the front of the car and this little red wire transfer that 12v signal to the back up camera. I personally like to go to the reverse light and run a relay off of that. The best backup camera for your car would be the Car Rover it will be in 720p and that screen is in 1080 so it may have slight haze. Unfortunately unless that screen has an hmdi port you will never have a true 1080p camera
Nice video. I am looking for a backup camera myself. I have the pioneer sph-da120. Do you know if the cameras tested will work with that? It has the same video input, but i am not sure if these cameras are model specific, or just goes with anything.
GREAT VIDEO! Raymond, what GPS/BACKUP Monitor do you recommend to be used with the E-SKY 170 Radar Camera that won in this comparison? Thank you very much for your input. I am ready to order these items.
Jose Rios Great car for subwoofers!! ok I would install: Pioneer MVH-AV290BT then you will also need Scosche TA2105-B and then you need a harness if you have steering wheel controls you need PAC RP4.2-TY11 Wiring Interface. IF you don't have steering wheel buttons then Metra 70-1761 Receiver Wiring Harness. Then you will need a camera...may I recommend the ESky with Radar lol. Also check out my channel this video should give you confidence: ruclips.net/video/anhNlx3vXBc/видео.html
Thank you for making these videos, I have a Mercedes GLK350 and I am looking to add a back up camera does the GLK need power on all the time or just power from backup light? Thanks
Hey Raymond, maybe I missed it in one of your videos. I’m planning on getting the radar camera for my wife’s 2013 c350 and I was wondering what do I have to buy to convert the cameras RCA video output plug to the factory head unit input? Thank you
Hello Raymond, Concerning the radar backup beeper, you can run a relay off of the reverse light circuit and that will address your concern. On my Porsches, the lighters were constantly on, so I added a relay that operated off of the ignition so that the DVR cameras would start and stop with the vehicles. I did not check all of your comments, but if I am repeating someone else's suggestion, apologies. Did you ever install the radar camera? The hole size must be large to accommodate the cable ends and as you pointed out, the hole will not be behind the mount.
gordon That's exactly what I did. I tapped I to the reverse light wire and added a capacitor to deal with the SAM unit (I have a video for that). And yes I did install it...and I wasn't alone +j.l also did the install and a few others did also. It's a NICE camera!
Great, thanks. Sorry to be an unending PITA, but why did you need a capacitor and which video concerns the "capacitor to deal with the SAM unit" (I assume that you specify the capacitor in the video)?
I have been looking for a camera for a few weeks I ranked the same one 1st. I have led tails so night Vision is not a problem I like the radar tech from a few cars ago and I also miss the noise for some reason. Thanks
+Raymond Sinan The radar really does set it apart from the rest. It's been on my car now for almost 5 months and still works great! Its gotten me out of my REALLY tight spots.
Thanks, and congratulations to the winner. Love your Mercedes vids. Are you going to change your camera then? I have the faceliftet C-class '12. Do you think installation will be as easy as on yours? Thanks.
Hi Raymond, I have a 2011 Ford Mondeo LX TDCI Wagon. I have stock park assist sensors on my car, so I really don't want that loud and annoying beep sounding device. Can I use the camera without connecting that beep maker at all? Please note, I have no idea what a constant power stuff is. so help me please. Thank you.
I have a 2014 Subaru Outback with no backup camera. I am using these videos to learn how to do it. This video helped me very much as I am learning how to install my own backup camera. Now I have to find a video on monitors as my car has not monitor either. Thank you Raymond.
+Bernard Gallant Check out other videos in my channel for ideas...but this maybe what you need, unless you want to change out your whole Radio ruclips.net/video/F8mNytVYuds/видео.html
Hi Raymond, I've bought the camera with radar inspired by your review :) But unable to mount the camera. Could you please make a video showing step by step instruction about how to mount the camera? It will be much appreciated. Thanks
Raymond Urias,Thanks for the quick reply.By the way , my car is Honda Accord 2010 LX-P and the tag area is made of non plastic material. As Esky claimed 'No drilling required and easy to install'.Is there any way to install the radar camera without drilling? Do you have any guidance for me on this? By the way, the link for the video you posted imho, you fast forwarded most valuable part of the camera installation. Please Keep your video without fast forwarding in the future. Please note that every frame of your video is valuable for the DYI people around the world. I'm a subscriber of your channel though :)
Md. Raishul Islam Honda Accord, That's a fun car to play around with!!! I remember when I was in high school messing around with Honda civics...I miss those days...I haven't worked on a Honda in a long time, mainly because they come with everything now from the factory 😅. About the fast forward...That's totally my fault, I'm always trying to find a balance of fun, knowledge and time. I know if the videos are to long it may discourage people from taking the challenge. I try my best to work on that. As for your car I would definitely drill it in BUT if that not your thing you could always use 3M Automotive tape and route the wire into the license plate light housing. I did an install on a Nissan a month ago... Maybe that video will be better for you, I think it will: ruclips.net/video/qV5IApZDvK8/видео.html Also THANK YOU for being awesome and subscribing!!!
My 2009 w204 doesn't come equipped with a back up camera. Is it possible to purchase one and install on the current screen. Note my screen is not the fold screen! ? Thank you
+Mariceeel I JUST DID THIS haha but the customer did not want his car filmed. There is a kit you can buy that plugs into the radio: www.ebay.com/i/292165953465?chn=ps&ul_ref=http%253A%252F%252Frover.ebay.com%252Frover%252F1%252F711-117182-37290-0%252F2%253Fmpre%253Dhttps%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.ebay.com%25252Fi%25252F292165953465%25253Fchn%25253Dps%2526itemid%253D292165953465%2526targetid%253D379756172092%2526device%253Dm%2526adtype%253Dpla%2526googleloc%253D9012041%2526poi%253D%2526campaignid%253D962079499%2526adgroupid%253D51784542430%2526rlsatarget%253Dpla-379756172092%2526abcId%253D1129816%2526merchantid%253D119110651%2526gclid%253DCj0KCQiA4bzSBRDOARIsAHJ1UO7Ti_icMPKbDqiT6WnsXpaj7wsTHd0Tz-QywN0m_NHiJgbmkVipOzoaArk_EALw_wcB%2526srcrot%253D711-117182-37290-0%2526rvr_id%253D1408973358621 It comes with everything! Just make sure your radio has that port available in the back. The kit works great, the camera is ok.
Raymond Urias aye is there one that’s compatible with a 2014 durango? That would plug into my uconnect? I don’t have the big 8.4. It’s the base small uconnect system
Ray, is there any good wireless backup and front camera dual display? Want to install on my Mercedes Metris. It has only a small radio display, so no navi.
James Bond There are several. If you want a front camera on this car you would need this: www.midcityengineering.com/product/video-in-motion-vim204/ Then run a trigger switch to activate it. Or you could upgrade your head unit and toggle between the two. Hi! I just bought a 2015 base Tacoma, and I'm wondering if this would work in it. The radio has a display, but it doesn't run apps or fancy stuff. It does connect to Bluetooth, has direct USB aux port, and has the regular radio stuff. Can you help me out, please?
lohengrinknight they have alot of kits for your car. Just find one with your radio. The base model for that year has 2 different radios...don't ask me why. Check this out: www.amazon.com/dp/B00KCAX4VU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_kXdAzbVDN7W0Q
Raymond Urias Thanks! I checked the link out and that seems to be the right one for my Tacoma. The price is a little bulky, though, so I'm gonna see if I can find them at a cheaper price. Thanks again.
I have picked up the Esky EC170-36. I would like to see a video soon on how you managed to install it in your vehicle. The only install guides on this camera model are not in english on youtube. The cables from the camera unit are too large to fit through the holes that are available, or I would have to cut and drill large holes in the back of the car.
Jay C. Comedy Like any LCD monitor or vehicle specific screen. If you are looking for a REALLY easy and CHEAP good kit I recommend this: ruclips.net/video/F8mNytVYuds/видео.html
Been seeing a lot of compliants on these cheap back up camera that with the first rain they get ruined..can you do some sorta test on the winner if rain will ruin it Thanks
+shlomy reich well if any test mine has been on my car for 10 months and has survived hurricane Irma. So I can safely say these test are complete BS. There is a component in the video line that can't get wet. But since these are all for cars that component will never get wet. I'll do a 10 Month follow up of the one on my car.
Could you please double check the Esky Silver link in the description (it doesn't have the radar). Also, did you end up making an installation video for the camera (: ? Thanks!
OVERDOSE I'll check the links tonight and update them. I installed the radar one on the car and it's still on there holding up beautifully ruclips.net/video/X-gt8IOlSZo/видео.html
OVERDOSE ran the wire. It's not hard, just tie them off in the right spots and it will look factory. I also did an install in a Nissan Altima ruclips.net/video/qV5IApZDvK8/видео.html
HI ray. Me again..lol..I bought that same car rover for my bmw..When you installed this for your video.were you using a relay? ..as you know, the plug is completely different. Last question...what do you think of the trunk handle camera versions? Thanks. Raymond.
The first time I didn't use a relay. I used a relay when the Sam unit started messing with it. It would work for 1 second then look like snow. I make it a standard practice to use a relay or capacitor now regardless of what make and model
You don't have to tell me..LOL.Really not a big fan on how they set up the wiring on this car r camera..Rather have a separate video wire going to radio..no biggie though..Thanks Ray...Relay going in Saturday..Freakin snowing here..lol..
Hi Raymond I had a 2012 C300 4Matic and I wanted to add a back up camera but the screen in my car was a small one so do you think the screen has an option to add a camera or a video display ? I knew how to run or install a back up camera because I had done in my other car ( Cadillac CTS and Acura MDX ) by adding a 4.3 pop up display on the dashboard that I've bought from amazon and eBay and they work really good but this time I wanted to hook up to my car display so it will look like a factory one. I could do the same as my other car by adding a car display on the dashboard with a pop up 5 inches display from amazon for under $50 come as a kit with camera . Thank you
Brandon Yen 2012, you should be able to watch this video I made and check the back of your command unit for the green wire/ port. If you have the port then you can wire it directly to your factory radio. It's really easy to pull your head unit out. The process is the same just different display. ruclips.net/video/YwTyKdIqCFQ/видео.html and this one too ruclips.net/video/MBVBo_U40BU/видео.html
Brandon Yen I installed the radar one, and I know other people that are loving it too. MAKE SURE you check behind your radio first to see if you have the port 😀 ruclips.net/video/X-gt8IOlSZo/видео.html
Thank you and I will check behind the radio first before I buy it. And I have I question about that camera you installed in that C300 and you use the right license light and I can tell that it's not in the Center and if you go to park in the parking lot that has a line did the camera show the car in the CENTER in the PARKING LOT LINE ? Or did you have an option to adjust the camera in the set up in the radio to LINE in the Center between the line ? I'd installed a lot of after market cameras that I installed to the license plate after I did it I have to drive to Parking lot at the store that has a Lines and all those cameras don't line up so I had to adjust the camera manually , like bent the camera or go up and down to match with the line of the parking lot . I just wanted to make sure. Thank you
hi Raymond, i have 2012 Mercedes C 300, I dont know whats wrong with my back up camera. it always shows me a black screen when i try to reverse the car. is there any sensor do I need to check?
cars have a reverse light so it would never get that dark, like it was in the trunk cameras and our eyes need some source of light for it to work and see so they only way a back up camera could see that number plate in the boot is , if it had its own source of light
Hi Raymond. Just subscribed to your other video as well. I am thinking to get this camera. I have a 2014 C 250. I think a newer one with the screen in the dash. also just bought map pilot Not sure how to hook up to the head unit.
Billy Gosnell Sounds like you have 2014 gen 2. The backup camera procedure is more than likely different. Send me a message on Instagram "raymonduriasjr" with a picture of your radio and I will tell you for sure. As for the Map pilot it go into a VCR looking dock in the left corner of your glovebox if you have a 2014 Gen 2. I hope this helped.
Hi Raymond, The Esky Radar backup camera, will it work with any wifi Transmitter. I can not make my mind up what to buy. I want a wifi ,wireless transmitter with a camera, preferably with nightvision, that I can connect to my android tablet. Dont want to pay more than 50-80 dollars. Any ideas ? Kind regards Kevin
Are you sure you want a transmitter? ruclips.net/video/0Rrdn8xFy0s/видео.html The Esky with radar does not have IR. It has low lux. Which means it needs ambient light to see at night.
Ok seen your video. That transmitter is shit. I seen you installed another camera auto-vox mw1 with a screen. The thing is I have an android tablet 8 inch and I want to use this as my monitor because I will be using it as my gps also. So im thinking the only thing I can do is use a wifi transmitter. ?? or am I missing something
You need a transmitter to send the signal to the tablet. Unfortunately every single one is complete garage. The only system that I found that works well with ipads and Android tablet is the Pearl rearvison camera
Raymond Urias ok thanks. That pearl is nothing for me because lm in Sweden and we don't have that size number plates.. I'm thinking of now a 7 or 8 inch smart mirror. But they all have there pros and cons. Very hard to decide unless you have an unlimited budget. 130 dollars is about mu limit.
J.L Yes sir it is. Trying to upload one every Saturday. I will bounce from the Z3 and the 300. It will give you time to install things on your car. I don't want you to fall behind 🤣
J.L Yes sir it is. Trying to upload one every Saturday. I will bounce from the Z3 and the 300. It will give you time to install things on your car. I don't want you to fall behind 🤣
I'm looking to do a back up camera for my c300 I just got I'm destroyed the c class didn't come with one I had a Acura TL type s before this car and was quite surprised our cars didn't come with one ! Did you figure out a good clean location with the number one camera ? I'm looking to buy a camera tomorrow off amazon lol so need some good reviews and stock location
DRamey86 The bulb replacement one is the easiest to install but quality is not the best: ruclips.net/video/8c1ZdvbrCXY/видео.html Here is what I did with the best one: ruclips.net/video/X-gt8IOlSZo/видео.html I would go with the drill hole method and a rubber grommet don't bother taking the camera apart. I know 4 other people that installed it and they love it.
You are correct about the Car Rover camera being OEM. They used to advertise it as OEM and it was only to be used on those models. Even though it is NTSC, I believe the reason that they specified only for those models was because of the way it mounts. Basically, it needs to be mounted to a horizontal surface. Since it dimensionally worked out perfect for the lift gate handle on Saturn Vues (and any other Theta platform vehicle like Buick Rendezvous, Opels, and many others.) I bought it. What caught me off-guard was the mounting nut will not slide over the connector, so I had to drill a larger hole and a smaller hole and make a key hole out of them to push it through the big hole, and then slide it rearward into the slot, and then tighten the retaining nut. I've used mine for a long time, and it works really well. It is impossible to even see the camera from behind the vehicle. When I slide it back in the slot the edge contacts the recess of the handle and squares it up, and it sits in the recess so that you cannot even see the cameras from the back. However they work perfectly. It is/was available in many different finishes by many different vendors. Chrome worked for one of our Standard Vues, and Red for the Redline. I was just came across your video while looking to see if there was anything better out there before I purchased another one. I agree, it would be WONDERFUL to have the radar too and not fiddle with those sensors in the bumper cover and a separate indicator. I will probably use the same one because its like made for Theta platform lift gates, and the radar one would not look as good and would be more work for me. What I would like to come up with is something that will trigger another camera for the front while parking, like the backup lights do for the rear camera. We don't maintain the cameras at all and have never cleaned them. They work good in the low light of backup lights. It is grainy, about like the old 1 lux video cameras, but still very easy to clearly identify anything behind the vehicle for a good distance. I can see how the little ring of LEDs are useful to a video camera or surveillance camera, but to portray a little ring of LEDs around a backup camera as having significance on a vehicle, to me is laughable. They would be dwarfed to insignificance by taillights and brake lights, let alone backup lights.
What I'm having trouble coming up with is a good trigger for the front. The back is easy because you can use the backup light circuit to trigger it. There is a technology difference also between the Car Rover and the other two. The docs say that the Car Rover uses a CCD while the other two use CMOS. In general, the CMOS is cheaper but doesn't do as well with colors, contrasts, or low light. If you do CMOS, you want the Sony 1/3" Super CMOS.
You can use the driving lights and have a switch to trigger it. OR Some new head units have the ability to summon the camera just by clicking a button....which is a glorified version of running a switch
I was thinking something as automatic as the backup camera. Perhaps brake brake lights on, in a gear other than reverse, below a certain speed, etc. LOL! Maybe your running light or switch idea IS the way to go. LOL! Even inexpensive monitors have two inputs with one having priority over the other so when you switched into reverse it would ignore the front camera. One thing that would require some thought is how to keep a front camera clean. Perhaps one like the Car Rover with its down-angle and set back a little would work. (I do love the radar though) One thing that set the Car-Rover-type cameras apart was their ability to handle the cold. A lot of cameras quit working for people in cold weather. Ours work at -18, but they don't look the same. I don't know if that was a camera or monitor issue. With the front there is also the issue of engine heat in the summer. Thinking out loud, Auto Android with devices like my Samsung Note III Phablet is where we are all headed. LOL! I have Bluetooth headsets with auto dialing, automatic dash cam, navigation, GPS speedometer, communication, Internet, radio, TV, music, weather, time, planner, records all of our telephone conversations, records meetings, document with the camera, family pictures, marketing videos and presentations, tracks business miles and provides invoicing time on site, where people are so you know who to send where, credit card, banking, and ODBII information are all in one place. NFC tags already are able to cause my phablet to switch automatically when I get into the vehicle if I want it to, and it is with me wherever I go. What I'm missing is HD cameras front and rear,. "Ask not how well your phablet works with the car; ask how well does the car work with your phablet." LOL! What I need right now is another monitor, backup camera, and I would dearly love a front camera for another 2007 Saturn Vue we have. LOL! If every vehicle were a sedan there would be much less need for them but today's vehicles have far, far more blind spots than in decades prior.
Raymond, thanks for the camera review. The lic. plate u have is from 'Portugal' not Poland. Hence the 'P' under the EU circle of stars stripe on the right. Poland would be 'PL' country code.
the video was great and informative, but you only mention the names of each unit 1 time.....had to keep rewinding to made sure of the brand, but most have different models..Are all models the same?
+Trehn Hazelwood You are correct. Many manufacturers have different models. These 3 specific ones are Amazons best sellers. I left multiple links in the description for each one.
I wired my backup camera "CarRover" to the 15amp fuse but when I use the backup camera, it shows the "watch surroundings" but the camera itself shows a black screen. I ordered a second same backup camera and that came out black too, so my camera isn't the issue. What do you think the issue is??
He must not know what to do then.....just saying . If its not a cable issue then i would recheck his connection behind the radio. He/She may have accidentally plugged in the factory farka cable to the Y adapter. there can only be one video source plugged in. If its not any of that then try reprogramming it again. and its not that then I cant help you with out actually being in the car and checking every connection.
Quick question... you every thought about putting 3 backup cameras on the trunk... (or in the car period) and then be able to switch between the 3 to see different angles... I would love to see the versatility of 3 camera views...
+Jah Cousteauu I thought about it.... Then thought of how annoying it would be to have 3 screens in the car. The new cars can do that since they have the software for it. I do plan on adding a from camera to the car. And Wellington.
I had just brought a new Jeep Wrangler I was watching your video and I was wondering which amber is better the ones you have to wire or the one that you can add to your phone.I really enjoyed watching you video and you explain everything very well of hooking up the camera. And if you can remember me for a winner when you do chose a winner, but regardless if a winner or not I will continue watching you videos because I like how you are honest and explain where you can understand.THANK YOU!
So in the original install video the light went inside a clear housing, so how exactly does the radar one hook up? am I still putting it where the left light was?
ChapCity YaBish to the right of it. If you threw out your factory original bulb fear not upgrade with these puppies: www.amazon.com/dp/B008BWMSOK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_JmEu8kLgh7W46 here is the install: ruclips.net/video/X-gt8IOlSZo/видео.html
ChapCity YaBish You can power radar 24/7 like a CCD camera. IF you own a German car and get a fuzzy picture check out my video on noise. German cars have sensors that MAY disrupt the the camera. If you have an American car or Asian then you should be fine.
I don't know about all these cams, I've been messing about with Amazon backup cams for the past 3 years, they all crap out at some stage, end up leaking or just plain crap out. I had one like you liked with the solid construction with the single screw, installed like a champ but it leaked. I have another one now, also seems solid but image is soft and the angle is strange. I am almost ready to give up on STD def and rig up some type of HD camera with long HDMI cable.
+Jacana Productions lol that would be interesting to see. My radar camera has been on my car now for a year and it's still as sharp as a the day I bought it. Yea I have seen a trend with shitty cameras Installed by dealerships. So far Tesla and Mazda are ranking as some of the worst IMO
Alex To go You have 2 options and the difference is about $100. IF it was my car I would just upgrade the radio with a Pioneer MVH ! You can check out crutchfied for which one fits your car exactly I took a guess and and assumed you don't have the Bose system. www.crutchfield.com/g_168550/In-dash-DVD-Players-Video-Receivers.html?tp=20217 if that's the route you take it will be easy and fun make sure you check out my Z3 radio install for a rough idea of how it is. ruclips.net/video/anhNlx3vXBc/видео.html NOW if your not up for spending the extra $100 then you should check out this video I did: ruclips.net/video/qV5IApZDvK8/видео.html ok you have plenty of home work now...HAVE A FUN INSTALL!
You can pretty easily install the buzzer in a constant power vehicle... just wire the positive terminal through the reverse light, and it will only turn on when the light goes on...
Hello there, aloha everyone! need some help here if any? I got one of those camera, and ive installed it, followed every single instruction for installation! I have a alpine ive head unit with a reverse trigger, i connected the camera power source to the reverse back up light, and the reverse trigger from the head unit to the + reverse back up light! In the morning is fine camera works ok, powers on when switch the gear to reverse and triggers the head unit to show the back up camera, but the problem is at night, yes! Its When i turn on the tail lights and step on the brake pedal, my head unit triggers to camera even gear is not on reverse, there is no image since camera on powers when i put the gear on reverse! So yeah at nigh when i turn on the tail lights and every time i step on break this happens, it triggers my head monitor in reverse, i tried and check all the wirings, and even replace all the tail light, brake signal light bulb new, but its weird when i remove one of the brake light bulb and turn the tail lights on and step on brake its doesnt trigger my head unit monitor to reverse,! Is there anything im missing? Really need help, thank u in advanced, mahalo!
+Patrick E First I would check that trigger connection with your headlights on and when you press the brakes it seems like you maybe drawing current from the wrong wire. Here is a video how to do that. ruclips.net/video/asew2cQCUgs/видео.html. The reverse + is where the trigger wire will go and camera.
Great video. When you find a NIGHT camera that works. Please advise. I am torn by the best made VS. the radar one. Seen all (?) videos dealing with C300. Now rather then spending $800+ , I can buy parts for under $50. Use my labor. Being retired, is cheap😊
I need help dude!! I got a 2015 Mercedes Benz CLA 250. The head unit is: NTG5*1. I already wired the camera but I cant install it to the head unit. 1) I don't know in which plug to install it on since there is one that actually says "CAM". and 2) Im not sure that Farka cable will work. Can you please help me out? Also some people are telling me I need a device called NAV-TV. Is it true?
Giancarlo Cassella CLA... That's a completely different car. You are looking at additional parts in the range of $500. You need a special adapter for it to work on the car look up navikis
Raymond Urias Yes sir it does, I found your other/previous video on how you installed it after I commented. Any maker/model number to use would be awesome. Great tutorial video, people like you have saved me a lot of headaches as a service tech over the years. ✌🏻
I drive a Audi A6 and it's got a very good back up camera with all round sona with directional audible sound in the interior so I know how come I get to object from different angles. Great video tho
Raymond Urias I did add a relay. I am wondering if the extreme cold has done anything? It worked great for a month I had to add the relay to get picture first.
I'm so impressed at how much effort you put into making your videos. As you well know there are some really bad ones out there. This helps me to decide if I really want to install one and which brand if so. Thanks keep it up.
Peter Janak Jr This is a great question! from what I know any camera that is NOT TOUCHING your license plate is 100% legal. Plate cameras are illegal in most states since they may block the registration sticker or the county of the vehicle. Florida doesn't play here is one of MANY stories www.mypalmbeachpost.com/news/crime--law/driving-with-this-car-accessory-could-get-you-163-ticket-florida/yFPY07sRJbuOFvjFdrKDdI/
Raymond....I couldn't read thru all the comments to see if it was covered or not, but for the radar camera and the issue with the alarm constantly going off due to being attached to a constant power, what you have to do is splice the power line into your reverse light bulb wire so when you place your car in reverse it sends power to both the reverse light bulb and the radar sensor and turns it off when you come out of reverse gear. Hope that helps! Thanks for the video.
Nicely put together video. Why didn't you do the obvious, and wire up to the reversing light. If it gives a fault, maybe a relay to switch the permanent power. On the illumination front, you;ve forgotten about the reversing lights, should be plenty, i'm pretty sure they should be saying "low light capable" The fact that the emergency hostage button is a thing, cracked me up. #only in America I find it fascinating that 1 radar sensor can do the job of 2 or 4, the sensor doesn't look shaped, would think that would cause false side alarms!
+bridgendesar Great observation, and I did end up installing the radar on the car as you described. ruclips.net/video/X-gt8IOlSZo/видео.html You are correct about the low light, it completely correct. The reverse light are plenty and now with the led upgrade it's like daylight and amazing night quality too. I was just upset that they falsely use IR as the form of advertising. As for the camera I love it and refer it enough, it is only one sensor so it may not be as fast a 4 sensors to measure distance but realistically I'm not flooring it in reverse after I buy my groceries lol!
I noticed something different between the Car Rover and the ones I'm using. The ones I'm using uses the Sony CCD 1/3". I notice the price went up about $12, but you might want to try one of those. Check out on Amazon Sincere -Night Vision Car Rear View Camera 170 Degree. That one also has the Sony CCD 1/3. First, the 1/3 CCDs do better at night because of their size. Secondly, they are a lot clearer because they have more scan lines. The CCD technology, as opposed to CMOS, AND TVL (for analog cameras and monitors), which regulates horizontal resolution, are the major factors. Both add some cost. The Car Rover is CCD, while the other two you reviewed are CMOS, which is why you liked the image so much better on the Car Rover. However, the Car Rover is 420 TVL while the Sony CCD 1/3 is 600. Backup wide-format monitors are typically 800 x 480. The Sony 1/3 CCD can do up to 811x508 while the 1/4" CCD can only do 510x496, which means it only has about 60% of the picture quality and missing quite a bit of low-light performance. Cheap, little monitors do not have the smarts to do math and intelligently construct missing information like newer TVs do. Another thing that can help, although I don't have one, is to get the 120 degree field of view instead of 170, but if you need 170, you need 170. I know you can get You can get TVL up to around 1000, but I haven't seen a backup camera with 1000 TVL.
+Jack T thank you for all of this information and for updating me about car Rovers increase in price. I don't think there is a backup camera with 1000tvl that I'm aware of that exist. I'm sure other subscribers will find this information to be useful.
Loved listening to to your video, I would love to just a wireless back up camera for my RV and it seems almost impossible to find one that is just wireless, without wires to run from one end to the other, I know you must know of such one. with all the devices out there, one has to work for me. HELP
I can pay around $100.00 for one if I know I can install it myself, and it is wireless without running the wire from one end to another as I said before. I know you can help me out, even if I have to come to Fla for you to install it for me. hehehe hahaha
I think all those 3 cameras are equipped with passive infrared sensor, they don't have an infrared emitter (as active infrared sensor), so it can't see any thing inside the car trunk.
+SPORTS WORLD if you have the NAV screen you maybe able to do it. Whatc this video, and go to the end and see if you can program yours first. The 08's have an older command firmware....some have the new one: ruclips.net/video/YwTyKdIqCFQ/видео.html
I have never seen anyone do a comparison test on anything like you did. So, thanks. I am considering upgrading my wife's 2013 Toyota radio to accept such a device, so I have been poking around RUclips for help. Thanks.
The blinking light in your trunk should be the trunk release from inside. If a person gets put in trunk, s/he can find the trunk release following the blinking light and escape (as seen on tv news).
Im not overly concerned with how clear the camera or monitor is. What im more concerned about is does it work. Avoiding obstacles below the view of the rear view mirror ie "blind spot" is what i need. I do appreaciate the review on these products. It helps when your researching products. So, Thank you.
Must be fate that I came across this video. I JUST bought my 2012 C300 this week and was hoping I can install a camera. Thanks for doing the leg work on this. Hope I get picked for the free camera!
- Night Vision means that the IR filter from the lenses have been removed - UK used/uses PAL for analog video , not NTSC , no related to the language spoken - The video system ( PAL/ NTSC ) is irrelevant if it's going to be a closed circuit in the car, unless you are using the OEM video system existing in the car.
Raymond would it be easy to instal the rear camera in a SLK 55 2015
A little more involved. You need a factory integration kit. They typically are about $250
Thanks so much Raymond. I miss your videos.
Dear Raymond. Can you help me out where to get the actory integration kit? Thanks man.
WE DID IT! 100 SUBSCRIBERS! Thank you 👊. I will pick out the winners at random and make a video tonight 2-27-17 with the results!
Raymond Urias u can ur turn of the screen on the
328 .... u can turn of through I drive display settings
El TUPACANASO hey do you know how to do that? I tried and it doesn't let me on the 328i it's a 2016
Hey Raymond nice video bro but I can't find that Esky backup camera with the radar anywhere on amazon... Is it discontinued?
Akin Brown It's not discontinued, everyone is buying it lol. I have emailed Esky and they are working on it. There are other manufacturers with the same product
www.amazon.com/dp/B01F3B91Y6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_f9uFzb3AT64G8
Hey Ray. Did you make a video on how you ran the wire ( video)to your srceen?? I'm thinking of going through drivers side floor panels..still haven't made it home too install yet.?But ,can't wait. Lol..thanks. ..Joe
ruclips.net/video/YwTyKdIqCFQ/видео.html
Did you get your part in the mail?
+Raymond Urias ..I believe I did Raymond....My friend watching our place said,that a package had arrived. ..but,I won't be home until Tuesday...Can't wait!!! Lollll.thank you......Joe
Have you tried the 2.4g Wireless Color Video Transmitter and Receiver for the Vehicle Backup Camera so you don't have to do a big wiring job?
Michael Shetler great that you brought that up! I have tried wireless installs in the past and find that they have ALOT of interference in cities. I know a few people speak highly of Peral Rearvision but at a price point of $500 its something alot of consumers dont want to pay... heck you could get a new Radio and camera for less in most situations.... with that being said Wiring isn't actually that bad. Just takes a little bit of patience and mapping 😀
Thanks for the information! Very useful. Where can I find more information on how to complete full installation on an 08 C300?
check out my channel. Also make sure you have a Command unit with Navigation.
Thank you for the awesome comparison video, Now you can do a Best $30 Backup Camera of 2019/20!
Hey,
can you make a video or explain how to plug the cabels in the radio? it wasn't really clear in the other video.
thank you for the videos they help a lot:)
Boucif Reggani that's a hot topic so I guess I'm gonna have to lol
Looking forward to it, about to order a camera now:D
Have you seen the video's were they have screen mirroring on their mercedes w204?
Next challenge?
I watched your program and I’m very please that you went through the effort to run chores which cameras best is I appreciate your effort, Jerry
+TheJerry1946 thanks man!
Raymond Urias Thanks man, keep up the excellent videos!
What do think is the best backup camera for a 528i..just installed aftermarket dvdgpsnav 8.8 screen. Thanks for that great video
+joe lane does it have yellow rca?
+Raymond Urias.. yes it does..has pretty much everything..has that extra can-bus box..(I guess that's what you would call it. ). Lol.
+Raymond Urias...Yes it does..When It's in reverse..it switches to backup screen....thanks again..Very informative video....joe
Any camera using a rca cable will be ok to use. All of these will work on your car
Thanks. Bought one now. Will be looking forward to installing it.
When hooking up power and ground to reverse light ? Power goes to reverse light power and will ground go to light wire or metal of body of vehicle ?
+dunno yolo if you know which wire is ground then you can tap that. If you don't then it's best to tap the body of the car.
GREAT VIDEO!
Raymond, what GPS/BACKUP Monitor do you recommend to be used with the E-SKY 170 Radar Camera that won in this comparison?
Thank you very much for your input. I am ready to order these items.
Dante Rios Thanks. What type of car do you have
Jose Rios Great car for subwoofers!! ok I would install: Pioneer MVH-AV290BT then you will also need Scosche TA2105-B and then you need a harness if you have steering wheel controls you need PAC RP4.2-TY11 Wiring Interface. IF you don't have steering wheel buttons then Metra 70-1761 Receiver Wiring Harness. Then you will need a camera...may I recommend the ESky with Radar lol. Also check out my channel this video should give you confidence:

Thank you for making these videos, I have a Mercedes GLK350 and I am looking to add a back up camera does the GLK need power on all the time or just power from backup light?
Thanks
Kev Spellman Thanks, all Mercedes-Benz need full time power or the computer may/ will throw a fault.
Raymond Urias
Thanks
Kev Spellman I just installed it on the C300 you can wire it to reverse lights.
Raymond Urias
Thank you for the update great
Kev Spellman Congratulations you are a winner of Car Rover camera. please send me a private message.
Hey Raymond, maybe I missed it in one of your videos. I’m planning on getting the radar camera for my wife’s 2013 c350 and I was wondering what do I have to buy to convert the cameras RCA video output plug to the factory head unit input? Thank you
It is a different process then my car. I helped my friend with his this should help you
ruclips.net/video/p0yl1CzctCk/видео.html
Raymond Urias - Thank you sir! Your are a true gentleman.
So how did you deal with the hole and what is the link to the video?
gordon It was not as bad as I thought...
ruclips.net/video/X-gt8IOlSZo/видео.html
Thanks.
Spengler Thanks! I did change it out and installing it on your car is the same:
ruclips.net/video/X-gt8IOlSZo/видео.html
Hi Raymond,
I have a 2011 Ford Mondeo LX TDCI Wagon. I have stock park assist sensors on my car, so I really don't want that loud and annoying beep sounding device. Can I use the camera without connecting that beep maker at all?
Please note, I have no idea what a constant power stuff is. so help me please.
Thank you.
ruclips.net/video/asew2cQCUgs/видео.html
I have a 2014 Subaru Outback with no backup camera. I am using these videos to learn how to do it. This video helped me very much as I am learning how to install my own backup camera. Now I have to find a video on monitors as my car has not monitor either. Thank you Raymond.
+Bernard Gallant Check out other videos in my channel for ideas...but this maybe what you need, unless you want to change out your whole Radio
ruclips.net/video/F8mNytVYuds/видео.html
Hi Raymond, I've bought the camera with radar inspired by your review :)
But unable to mount the camera.
Could you please make a video showing step by step instruction about how to mount the camera? It will be much appreciated. Thanks
Md. Raishul Islam here you go:
ruclips.net/video/X-gt8IOlSZo/видео.html
Maybe that video will be better for you, I think it will:
ruclips.net/video/qV5IApZDvK8/видео.html
Also THANK YOU for being awesome and subscribing!!!
My 2009 w204 doesn't come equipped with a back up camera. Is it possible to purchase one and install on the current screen. Note my screen is not the fold screen! ? Thank you
Nope ..... But you can buy this:

😁
I need one for my 2016 Toyota Corolla. Any suggestions? By the way it has a screen already
+Mariceeel I JUST DID THIS haha but the customer did not want his car filmed. There is a kit you can buy that plugs into the radio:
www.ebay.com/i/292165953465?chn=ps&ul_ref=http%253A%252F%252Frover.ebay.com%252Frover%252F1%252F711-117182-37290-0%252F2%253Fmpre%253Dhttps%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.ebay.com%25252Fi%25252F292165953465%25253Fchn%25253Dps%2526itemid%253D292165953465%2526targetid%253D379756172092%2526device%253Dm%2526adtype%253Dpla%2526googleloc%253D9012041%2526poi%253D%2526campaignid%253D962079499%2526adgroupid%253D51784542430%2526rlsatarget%253Dpla-379756172092%2526abcId%253D1129816%2526merchantid%253D119110651%2526gclid%253DCj0KCQiA4bzSBRDOARIsAHJ1UO7Ti_icMPKbDqiT6WnsXpaj7wsTHd0Tz-QywN0m_NHiJgbmkVipOzoaArk_EALw_wcB%2526srcrot%253D711-117182-37290-0%2526rvr_id%253D1408973358621
It comes with everything! Just make sure your radio has that port available in the back. The kit works great, the camera is ok.
Raymond Urias aye is there one that’s compatible with a 2014 durango? That would plug into my uconnect? I don’t have the big 8.4. It’s the base small uconnect system
how are you connection the camera to show onto the screen? Thank yo
Ray, is there any good wireless backup and front camera dual display? Want to install on my Mercedes Metris. It has only a small radio display, so no navi.
James Bond There are several. If you want a front camera on this car you would need this:
www.midcityengineering.com/product/video-in-motion-vim204/
Then run a trigger switch to activate it. Or you could upgrade your head unit and toggle between the two.

Question: the guiding grid lines ,is that from the camera or mercedes software? As in can it be turned off?
Each camera has its own grid lines. Some can be turned off by cutting a marked wire
Check this out:
www.amazon.com/dp/B00KCAX4VU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_kXdAzbVDN7W0Q
Raymond Urias Thanks! I checked the link out and that seems to be the right one for my Tacoma. The price is a little bulky, though, so I'm gonna see if I can find them at a cheaper price. Thanks again.
I have picked up the Esky EC170-36. I would like to see a video soon on how you managed to install it in your vehicle. The only install guides on this camera model are not in english on youtube. The cables from the camera unit are too large to fit through the holes that are available, or I would have to cut and drill large holes in the back of the car.
+Bryan Wan here is how I did it.....in English lol
ruclips.net/video/X-gt8IOlSZo/видео.html
Very nice. Thanks for the followup!
What is the name and model of the number one camera? I have a Volvo XC90 and think it will work well.
Jay C. Comedy Here you go:

it's the exact same camera 😁 only $18
Is the wiring easy to install to a LCD monitor? Do you think it work with a Garmin Gps?
Jay C. Comedy Like any LCD monitor or vehicle specific screen. If you are looking for a REALLY easy and CHEAP good kit I recommend this:

The shortcut for Polish licence plates is PL
Mauritz Mauritz I was wayyyy off. Thanks for telling me!
Raymond Urias no problem :D
was about to say that haha, i'm from portugal :P
88 is the first registration year of the car, and 06 is the month
pxKfatmaN tuga em todo o lado 😂
Hey, you can turn off the display in the BMW and program one of the buttons on the radio to turn the screen off as soon as you click that button
James Baker BMW That's awesome, do you know the process of programing that?
for the constant power on the buzzer one, you could put a relay on either the camera or the buzzer and run the relay to the radio
+Your Friendly Neighborhood Nerd You are 100% correct and that's exactly what I ultimately did.
*Side note awesome profile picture!
Raymond Urias thanks
Been seeing a lot of compliants on these cheap back up camera that with the first rain they get ruined..can you do some sorta test on the winner if rain will ruin it
Thanks
+shlomy reich well if any test mine has been on my car for 10 months and has survived hurricane Irma. So I can safely say these test are complete BS. There is a component in the video line that can't get wet. But since these are all for cars that component will never get wet. I'll do a 10 Month follow up of the one on my car.
Could you please double check the Esky Silver link in the description (it doesn't have the radar). Also, did you end up making an installation video for the camera (: ? Thanks!
OVERDOSE I'll check the links tonight and update them.
I installed the radar one on the car and it's still on there holding up beautifully
ruclips.net/video/X-gt8IOlSZo/видео.html
Raymond Urias did you use transmitters too? Or just the normal wiring? Im trying to avoid having wires hanging off of trunk everytime I open it
OVERDOSE ran the wire. It's not hard, just tie them off in the right spots and it will look factory. I also did an install in a Nissan Altima
ruclips.net/video/qV5IApZDvK8/видео.html
The process is the same just different display.
ruclips.net/video/YwTyKdIqCFQ/видео.html
and this one too
ruclips.net/video/MBVBo_U40BU/видео.html
Raymond Urias thank you I'll order them an put it on my C300. Your videos will help me
Raymond Urias I kept watching your videos but I missed the part that which camera did you put on that C300 ? Is it an Esky with radar? Thanks
Brandon Yen I installed the radar one, and I know other people that are loving it too. MAKE SURE you check behind your radio first to see if you have the port 😀
ruclips.net/video/X-gt8IOlSZo/видео.html
Thank you
hello love your videos what you suggest for mercedes C200 year 2014 model ?
When you mount it..does it have to be pointed down or up?
Plug it in to find orientation, then install it accordingly
hi Raymond, i have 2012 Mercedes C 300, I dont know whats wrong with my back up camera. it always shows me a black screen when i try to reverse the car. is there any sensor do I need to check?
Sounds like you need a relay:
ruclips.net/video/MNWNAC7kNUA/видео.html
that should resolve your issue :)
thank you so much also it says in the screen "please check entire surroundings"
Mohammed Alsaysaban yes it needs a relay camera is not getting enough power due to Sam unit
I'm having such a hard time getting my back up camera led lights to turn on, what could be happening? could you help me with this?
E just me I'll give it a shot, which camera do you have? And what car is it on?
cars have a reverse light so it would never get that dark, like it was in the trunk
cameras and our eyes need some source of light for it to work and see
so they only way a back up camera could see that number plate in the boot is , if it had its own source of light
+KidoGameplay you are 100% correct. But the fact that they advertise it has IR is a straight up lie lol. If it said low lux I would give it a pass.
Yes map pilot works fine. Yes might have gen 2. I don't know how to do instantgram. I am 65 yrs old haha. However do know how to use e-mail.
not sure if the car is prewired for camera
How about using an FPV camera from quadcopters as backup camera for cars? Those are much wider.
+Car Ser I have not thought if that. It's worth trying out, I actually have a whole bunch of new cameras that will be tested soon.
Great insight into backup camera. Can they ship this to India?
+Lokesh Bisht Maybe this will help you:
Look at this on eBay www.ebay.com/itm/361414767599
Hi Raymond, The Esky Radar backup camera, will it work with any wifi Transmitter. I can not make my mind up what to buy. I want a wifi ,wireless transmitter with a camera, preferably with nightvision, that I can connect to my android tablet. Dont want to pay more than 50-80 dollars. Any ideas ? Kind regards Kevin
Are you sure you want a transmitter?
ruclips.net/video/0Rrdn8xFy0s/видео.html
The Esky with radar does not have IR. It has low lux. Which means it needs ambient light to see at night.
Dont you need a wifi transmitter to connect to an android tablet ??
Is the new video still dropping tomorrow?
J.L Yes sir it is. Trying to upload one every Saturday. I will bounce from the Z3 and the 300. It will give you time to install things on your car. I don't want you to fall behind 🤣

How has the camera and radar combo held up. I looked on amazon and reviews have been growing on issues.
Thanks!!
Felipe Cortes mine is still on my car and works perfectly. You can see it in my latest video
DRamey86 The bulb replacement one is the easiest to install but quality is not the best:
ruclips.net/video/8c1ZdvbrCXY/видео.html
Here is what I did with the best one:
ruclips.net/video/X-gt8IOlSZo/видео.html
I would go with the drill hole method and a rubber grommet don't bother taking the camera apart. I know 4 other people that installed it and they love it.
That one came in what 3rd place ? Did you get the first place mounted clean and good yet ?
Jack T I do have plans for a front facing camera Install and review. Thanks for all the info!
It will have to due. I don't have a better idea other than perhaps a momentary contact switch and timer. Looking forward to what you come up with.
Raymond, thanks for the camera review. The lic. plate u have is from 'Portugal' not Poland. Hence the 'P' under the EU circle of stars stripe on the right. Poland would be 'PL' country code.
Sean Savinell I need to travel more....

the video was great and informative, but you only mention the names of each unit 1 time.....had to keep rewinding to made sure of the brand, but most have different models..Are all models the same?
+Trehn Hazelwood You are correct. Many manufacturers have different models. These 3 specific ones are Amazons best sellers. I left multiple links in the description for each one.
I wired my backup camera "CarRover" to the 15amp fuse but when I use the backup camera, it shows the "watch surroundings" but the camera itself shows a black screen. I ordered a second same backup camera and that came out black too, so my camera isn't the issue. What do you think the issue is??
Harchintosh sounds like the video cable is not plugged in correctly. Make sure it's plugged in on both ends. Could have accidentally been disconnected
Raymond Urias my mechanic did the installation, he disconnected and connected both to the fakra cable and to the camera. Could it be anything else?
If you threw out your factory original bulb fear not upgrade with these puppies:
www.amazon.com/dp/B008BWMSOK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_JmEu8kLgh7W46
here is the install:
ruclips.net/video/X-gt8IOlSZo/видео.html
Awesome! Thank You!
Oh and why did I need splicers?
ChapCity YaBish You can power radar 24/7 like a CCD camera. IF you own a German car and get a fuzzy picture check out my video on noise. German cars have sensors that MAY disrupt the the camera. If you have an American car or Asian then you should be fine.
Oh okay thanks again man, and I should be ok, we have the same car lol
Hi, great video, buy the way that plate is Portuguese from Portugal, how did it get there :D
Thanks Raymond. I'm enjoying your Vids. on Back-up cameras! Trying to decide which to order.
so what if your car doesn't have a monitor. do u buy the screen separately?
Alex To go Which car do you have?
A Sentra 2013 model
Alex To go You have 2 options and the difference is about $100. IF it was my car I would just upgrade the radio with a Pioneer MVH ! You can check out crutchfied for which one fits your car exactly I took a guess and and assumed you don't have the Bose system.
www.crutchfield.com/g_168550/In-dash-DVD-Players-Video-Receivers.html?tp=20217
if that's the route you take it will be easy and fun make sure you check out my Z3 radio install for a rough idea of how it is.

ok you have plenty of home work now...HAVE A FUN INSTALL!
Thank you
Greetings! I have a 2009 C350, is it possible for me to add this to my car's Command unit?
+EVH Wannabe does your car have navigation?
Raymond Urias Yes sir it does, I found your other/previous video on how you installed it after I commented. Any maker/model number to use would be awesome. Great tutorial video, people like you have saved me a lot of headaches as a service tech over the years. ✌🏻
When are you planning on coming out with the best backup camera for 2018 ?
I drive a Audi A6 and it's got a very good back up camera with all round sona with directional audible sound in the interior so I know how come I get to object from different angles. Great video tho
+Theo Fennel that's a mighty car you have
The camera on my car doesn't have radar! I kinda like it! I think the shade from those tree's are affecting your visibility of the license plate???
Will it work on a Honda or a Chevrolet truck great videos
HI installed camera and the power hub thing, camera worked for 2 months. now I have a black screen. any ideas on how to fix it?
+Trevor R try adding a relay
ruclips.net/video/MNWNAC7kNUA/видео.html
Raymond Urias I did add a relay. I am wondering if the extreme cold has done anything? It worked great for a month I had to add the relay to get picture first.
+Trevor Ruszkowski how cold are we talking lol I know the operating temp can't go below -40F for most of them.
Raymond Urias it’s been a constant 19 or colder at night.
Raymond Urias it’s just odd that it was working perfect after the relay was put in to all the cold now a black screen.
I'm so impressed at how much effort you put into making your videos. As you well know there are some really bad ones out there. This helps me to decide if I really want to install one and which brand if so. Thanks keep it up.
So, have the winners been picked?
Thanks Raymond,
Thai
Thai Vuong Yes we hit that milestone. I do have another give away going on. Check out the Mercedes Benz dashcam install
What brand is the best? I dont know how to spell it thanks
MMAMELEEdotCOM ESky or Car Rover they are both good for the price
The elsky camera with radar would that fit in 2012 Nissan Altima
+Yaseen Yusoof Definitely will fit under the lip!
Can the car rover camera go in different directions?
What do you mean
Anybody try to transplant the camera component from the car rover onto the radar one? I'm going to pick up both to see if it's possible.
+Ninth Nihil Let me know how it goes you could make the world's best camera causing an anomaly that suck our universe into a black hole
What is illegal in all states regarding the camera?
Peter Janak Jr This is a great question! from what I know any camera that is NOT TOUCHING your license plate is 100% legal. Plate cameras are illegal in most states since they may block the registration sticker or the county of the vehicle.
Florida doesn't play here is one of MANY stories
www.mypalmbeachpost.com/news/crime--law/driving-with-this-car-accessory-could-get-you-163-ticket-florida/yFPY07sRJbuOFvjFdrKDdI/
+Frank Nere Thanks man that's what I ended up doing. Couldn't be happier with it.
Nicely put together video.
Why didn't you do the obvious, and wire up to the reversing light. If it gives a fault, maybe a relay to switch the permanent power.
On the illumination front, you;ve forgotten about the reversing lights, should be plenty, i'm pretty sure they should be saying "low light capable"
The fact that the emergency hostage button is a thing, cracked me up. #only in America
I find it fascinating that 1 radar sensor can do the job of 2 or 4, the sensor doesn't look shaped, would think that would cause false side alarms!
+bridgendesar Great observation, and I did end up installing the radar on the car as you described.
ruclips.net/video/X-gt8IOlSZo/видео.html
You are correct about the low light, it completely correct.
I have a clk 430 2001 need to find best back up camera for my car do not want to do any drilling.
Nice job. I have a sm tt and was considering getting a backup camera to assist with hitching ir even to help park.
+LittleLadyk2002 they are definitely worth having on trucks! I pinned a comment on the top for a chance to win a nice kit!
Loved listening to to your video, I would love to just a wireless back up camera for my RV and it seems almost impossible to find one that is just wireless, without wires to run from one end to the other, I know you must know of such one. with all the devices out there, one has to work for me. HELP
I can definitely help you. First what is your budget?
I can pay around $100.00 for one if I know I can install it myself, and it is wireless without running the wire from one end to another as I said before. I know you can help me out, even if I have to come to Fla for you to install it for me. hehehe hahaha
What screen do you have or are you looking for an everything kit?
Any new recommendations since this video? Great job by the way!
Not yet i still have mine and love it. Waiting for some new ones to come out.
Thx!
I think all those 3 cameras are equipped with passive infrared sensor, they don't have an infrared emitter (as active infrared sensor), so it can't see any thing inside the car trunk.
+p452833 sounds like I'll be running another experiment
i have a 08 c300 iand i would really like to install a backup cam and a remote starter
+SPORTS WORLD if you have the NAV screen you maybe able to do it. Whatc this video, and go to the end and see if you can program yours first. The 08's have an older command firmware....some have the new one:
ruclips.net/video/YwTyKdIqCFQ/видео.html
You should have tested one of the more expensive cameras also. Like the Kenwood CMOS-320
Buzz Hammond believe it or not I just purchased that camera to see if spending that kind of money is justified
Gracias Carnal ! lastima que ya no venden la cámara en Amazon...voy a buscarla en ebay.
Huh I wonder if could buy one of these cameras with radar and replace it with the stock camera.
+Erik Gonzalez Anything is possible....but far from easy
Wht part of Florida are you in...
Great video. You really helped me figure out what camera to purchase. Thank you.
I have never seen anyone do a comparison test on anything like you did. So, thanks. I am considering upgrading my wife's 2013 Toyota radio to accept such a device, so I have been poking around RUclips for help. Thanks.
+tom721100 Thanks for the compliment. Check out the pioneer head units they are amazing and have a ton of features!
The blinking light in your trunk should be the trunk release from inside. If a person gets put in trunk, s/he can find the trunk release following the blinking light and escape (as seen on tv news).
Thomas W. Good ol Liam Neeson button
Im not overly concerned with how clear the camera or monitor is. What im more concerned about is does it work. Avoiding obstacles below the view of the rear view mirror ie "blind spot" is what i need. I do appreaciate the review on these products. It helps when your researching products. So, Thank you.
Great review. Been shopping for one of these for a while and now I have even more information to make a decision. Thanks for the great video and info.
Licencje plate is from Portugal " P" . Polish is "PL".
Andrzej Yup way off
Must be fate that I came across this video. I JUST bought my 2012 C300 this week and was hoping I can install a camera. Thanks for doing the leg work on this. Hope I get picked for the free camera!
+Christopher Gillyard we are getting mighty close :)
Christopher Gillyard Congratulations you are a winner of the Radar cam. Please send me a private message.
I Really like the way you presented your video very simple I can understand and you speak very clearly
- Night Vision means that the IR filter from the lenses have been removed
- UK used/uses PAL for analog video , not NTSC , no related to the language spoken
- The video system ( PAL/ NTSC ) is irrelevant if it's going to be a closed circuit in the car, unless you are using the OEM video system existing in the car.
