Always Fun an Informative. Zohd makes a inovative plane an uses Great quality setups in pnp. . Ive 2 drifts black an white, Alpha, Delta an talon,. . Cant beat the price for what u get.
Tks!
100%. You know you have a great collection. I got mine for free. Bit with that said. If I would have bought them I would not have been unhappy. I love each one of them for what they are. Zohd is legit. I hated to see their slow down in producing great fpv planes. We need more new ones!
Yes lookin foward to Zohds future. Regards@dronecamps
Thanks for posting this fine review! I haven't been in the air since I finished my Dream Home...
Now that I'm on the Lake, I'm looking to buy a float plane later this year...! Keep the props spinning!
Thanks for review. Im waiting for mine to be delivered. Hopefully it will ship soon. Cheers
Thanks for getting this one up in the air, Justin! Pretty sure you’re the first one to show any flight footage and it looks like it flies really well keep up the good work!
Yes first one to fly it! It’s so quiet man. I’m really hoping people are right about 1 hr flight time on that 7000mah battery. 🔋
@@dronecamps I like that it’s quiet and probably has excellent flight times! I guess we’ll see just how long in the future.
Thanks a lot for your nice review. 👍👍 Seems you'd prefer the Altus to the Reptile Dragon 2, wouldn't you?
I still have my drift from years ago. Still flying great!
Good video, nice to finally see it airborne, I was sitting on the fence but ended up ordering one after I crashed my Zohd Drift; the pride of my fleet.
The Drift was a great little cruiser, it was a little underpowered though, the Altus looks a lot sturdier and that extra speed is much needed.
I will probably glue the fuselage back together on the Drift later down the line, the damage isn't too bad, but the wife doesn't need to know that 😅
Hey Justin, I have a couple of ZOHD airplanes, and I love flying them. I have decided to go with the Speedybee F405 wing. Thanks for the information and video
I've many zohds they grow on u lol
I flew RC wayyy back in the 70's as a kid. I'm recently getting back into RC planes and new to drones. I will tell you that RC planes being offered by most manufacturers today are a big departure from early airframe design. I'm not even talking about the materials but airframe layout and configuration. Example, this aircraft has no dihedral which reduces inherent stability. I understand that from a manufacturing perspective, a straight wing works better with carbon tube spars, however, if the wing were set up on top of the fuselage instead of centered this would increase the pendulum effect thereby providing more inherent stability even without dihedral in the wing. In addition, a shoulder wing layout would provide more prop and wing tip clearance for belly landings reducing the probability of wing tip and propeller damage. Also, I'm curious about the plug in wing connector at the root, in your opinion is the convenience of that feature really a big deal as opposed to traditional connections for motor and servos? Is it a deal breaker for some people? Also, did you use an Insta 360 for the video and does it automatically align the horizon as though the camera were on a gimbal? Thanks?
You don't want dihedral on these planes, you don't want top mounted wings either, thats becaus dihedral reduces efficiency and you want this plane to be very agile, you DONT want it to be that stable, we still have trainers with a lot of dihedral but this is NOT a trainer
Also, the wing plug is amazing and you defenetly want it, especally if you have not only one servo but like a vtx for video or a airspeed sensor on the wing too
Only flyn 15 years, I'm 65 now.
The Zohds grow on one, good parts, assembly an price, lol
Much expected video ! Kudos ! 👍🏻
Thanks a lot 😊
perfect FPV cam!
I am going to take a look n see if we have them in NZ. Thanks. 👌
Nice review, ❤ i will buy this on,
You will actually love this plane.
Love the video, thank you .How would you compare this one to the swordfish?
Better made. Smoother. Quieter. And I love the 9pin wing servo plugs. Made to last.
Nice plane...and flying :) What's that little camera?
Hello,
I received my wing but I can't program it. I have the same configuration as you. Can you make your INAV file downloadable please? Thank So much
My ESCs still beeping, I cant configure them…. :( did you perform a calibration ? How ? Huge thanks
Yeah well zohd always blows everything out of the competition- except big, cheap or glider style planes. Now with the Speedybee f405 wing mini even affordable beginner fpv!
I heard this is going to have a VTOL conversion kit further down the line, I am looking forward to when that comes out, see how it flies with all that set up
Yes I can’t wait
Will VTOL require LiPo instead of Li-Ion batt?
@@shamandgg Not necessarily - if you use the Molicels P45b's you would probably be ok
Looks like it flies nice 👍, I have one on the way for fpv. You could get an hour flight time with that 7000mah 😂
I REALLY hope you’re right about the 1hr flight time. I will do further 7000mah testing. This was a quick flight.
@@dronecamps You might get bored after an hour if not doing fpv, even then you might lol so good luck. I've a 5000mah in a atomrc dolphin and get 40-50mins cruising, amp draw is supposed to be similar with the altus.
Sir, enjoy the channel . Im 65yo, tho not into fpv much, . Do have the Zohd kopilot/ an Zohd camera, low end stuff,,, an low end goggles
Have the Zohd white an black drift, Talon,Alpha,Delta, lol.
Zohd offers so Dang Economical,$$
This twin Engine is not Fast like The Motion RCHavok, or FMS Flash I have.
It is Quick, an Fast Enough. The Zohds are well thought out an made. Im happy as U Are bout them back in the game.
Ill get this on Soon
The Zohd Alpha rear,,Prop Jees Crashed My first one, Honestly this New one Alpha in Box, Hope I can get a Stablizer to help me Fly it,. So fast,,,, touchy as Heck. At any Rate, Glad ur Still helping all the Noobs an Experienced flyers.
Regards
Captain John Alabama
Alright John! Sounds like you have some good stuff there. That Copilot should be able to help you enjoy some smooth flights. Keep us posted on how things go
😊😊😊
I flew my rc jet today (one of those 100$ foam jets)
And bro i got almost 20 birds chasing my plane i swear but they really didint attack they just tried to hit me but fail
Does this plane really need 3 blade props. 2 blade would be more efficient.
She would Do a bit more speed. 3 blades "Tractor" help climb rate.
I'm going look into 2 prop eventually. I like line of sight most part.
Zod... lol it's actually ZO then HD but no worries. 😎👍
Thanks. I’ve been calling it zod since they sent me their first plane. But thanks.
@@dronecamps
No worries lol everyone does.
The Company is actually ZO HD there is just no space between, so of course.... Zod with silent H. 😂😎
It's all good 👍🍻
CH...ina .... 😹
First here

30 minutes? I'm guessing more like an hour. My fat butt Alba Bird goes an hour with a 5200 li-ion. I like the flat aero appearance
I hope you’re right!!! Makes me excited. I will do some more flying with this 7000
@@dronecamps log your time and check the voltage when you're done. Remember lithium ions can go down much lower than a lipo, I think that particular one could go down to 2.5 per cell
What plane do you like better. Heewing ranger or zohd Alta ?
I'm wondering the same!
@@arshadmohammed1072it has a rudder!

I flew since the 80s. My first plane the Cox EzBee has great dihedral. Most planes with Dihedral were built for stability and beginners in mind.
This plane is intermediate. The plane is streamlined and built for speed. Dihedral is great for slow fly and less stall window.
And the plug in wing wiring is pretty standard now a days for these types of “drone” aircraft. They can be quickly take apart for transport. Less hanger rash. And the 9 pin attachment is really thick and will not come apart in flight. It’s a decade past the previous versions. It’s beefy. I personally hated the first ones I saw 5 years ago. They were thin and detached. This wing is also held by a lang carbon spar, and two large screw in bolts on the inside the fuselage. This wing is sturdy! Unlike my EzBee wing that snapped at 500ft. 😂 That .046 became a missile! 😂
The future is good. Dive in my friend.
Justin D.
Ps. Yes that camera has EIS stability. Pretty amazing it looks like a motorized gimbal. It’s just taped on top! Insta360 makes really good cams.
