The best way I have found to organize a deep freezer is egg crates you can get them cheap at Home Depot and they stack on top of each other so you can lift out a whole crate to get to the bottom I have a crate for each item like one for corn one for peppers one for onions etc
I totally don't mind that you went thru the freezer and organized it. I personally like the longer preservation and meal videos to see the day start to finish with the projects.
That’s a big job done. We did ours in January, it’s amazing what you find. I wish they could make freezers with automatic rotating shelves, like the file systems in doctors offices.
I'm not three minutes in, and you have me smiling. I can relate. Did my freezer last week. Used large coloured bags for "like" items and a label along the edge to guide me. Quick meals and leftovers went into the hanging baskets. So far, it has helped!! Now, back to the vlog!!
Just recently went through my freezers. Very disorganized as well....I had an assortment of bananas, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, pineapple, pineapple juice, even some cucumber cubes. I blended up different batches and varieties of smoothie mixtures. Froze them in small containers so when anyone wants a smoothie, you can pull them out and thaw them or eat them like a Luigi Ice... Love your organizational skills. Hope your foot is fine!! Thank you!! 😘
😆 I'm sitting here, foot elevated.. with a "nausty" bruise on the top and bottom of my foot. 2 days ago, I cleaned out my pantry. I got it cleaned up and organized. Guess who else didn't label a few cases of canned stuff?!?😏I know what it is, but when did I put it there? 🤔Oh back to the foot- yeah dropped a can on it. The bruise on the bottom is another story! 😆🤨. My granny was famous for keeping one basket in the freezer for leftovers. But, not meal amounts, snack amounts. It was the refrigerator soup basket. When it got full, yep, all of it in a pot. It was always THE BEST soup. I just realized, I'm not subscribed to you ...what the?! No wonder I'm not seeing you guys much, anymore. 🤨Fun video. I'm looking forward to seeing the juicer. I have not ventured to watch the steam canners, yet.
I always wear gloves when organizing my freezers too! I’ve seen other RUclipsrs organizing many freezers bare handed and I think “how can they handle doing that without gloves?!?”
I just remembered, commercial freezer operators have a date system you can use, with color coded tags and things with "use first" or when the item was put inside so you know. You'd think someone would have those for ordinary people.
Today, Pints, 10 chicken, 4 pulled pork, 2 Great Northern and 4 and 1/2 pints of Great Aunt Lucille's Sweet pickles that I started in Jan. Thank you. God Bless and stay safe. EDIT: Thank you for the short videos. I will watch a longer one in winter but summer time I am outside. I have unsubed to channels with an hour long video or hour long live; no need.
Oh hey, on all those corn on the cob, u can just blanch the cobs cut it off and freeze it in serving size bags, we do tons of that every year, kinda a fan favorite
Our refrigerator compressor went out recently, so I had to do some quick sorting to make room in the chest freezer. I am so grateful to you for canning inspiration because I’ve never canned so much in my life!! Thank you for being real and sharing this with us. 🥰
My inventory and freezer are a lot smaller but can get frustrating when looking for a particular item. I use cloth shopping bags with handles to put like items together. Works well. Im envious of all those bags of blueberries.
Great job, Rachel! I have one upright and one deep freezer, but they are not frost free(my choice, they keep food good longer), so when I organize them I also have to defrost them. Let’s just say, it doesn’t happen very often. Fortunately, I defrosted the upright a couple months ago. This video gets me motivated to do the deep freezer. Thanks! Sorry about your foot. PS I almost always watch to the end.
I deleted my comment about using fabric bags as I see they've been suggested a couple times already! Thanks for being real and showing we don't need to be hoarding enough for the zombie apocalypse lol. Preserve what you need and will use!
Ooh...ouch!! That must have hurt. I like the longer videos. I just put it on like it's a TV series and watch while I'm doing something else. Long, short, either way I enjoy them.
I live in Finland and steam juicer is THE way to preserve juices here. Pressure canning is practically unknown and used very little here. So, taking a veeery deep plunge when trying to learn pressure canning.
You are one busy lady and you always inspire me to get up and get things done. I am excited to see the blue berry pie filling video. Have a blessed weekend.
Its amazing how food gets lost in a freezer. I love my door freezers, i bought metal baskets so i know what i have. Working on beef bone broth- chicken, then more tomatoes for spaghetti sauce. Then the fruit, 0ye!
Thanks for this video Rachel! Loved watching it. I stopped halfway through and went downstairs through my freezers and got out all the frozen trout (trout season is starting soon!!) and got it in a big box and will pressure can it tomorrow!! We loved pressure canned trout! We like it so much better than store bought tuna! We actually had 2 jars this past week for lunch 2 different days!!
I bought a steam juicer a couple of years ago I do elderberries and have a big amount of grapes! I have been making a lot of tinctures out of the elderberries! Put up a privacy fence and had to tear up my 30+ years of Concord grapes, but have a big arbor with lots of grapes! I plan on doing cranberries this year for juice ! Love to watch others do their canning and juice. Running out of room for my canned goods , Freeze drying lots also , just got that about a month ago ! You are very organized, and I just wish I had more room for more storage of goods !
Love the size of your freezer! Good job gettimg that big, chilly project done!!! I 100% know what it takes to do that because I pulled everything out of our 7-ft deep freezer mid-January (got the freezer May, 2021), and it was like shopping! I re-organized that thing twice before over the past two years, but with all the stockpiling, I'd lost track of everything that was on the bottom layers, lol. I found some big soft plastic baskets at Aldi last year, and bought a couple of those, (did nothing with them for four months), and they worked so well to get the meats back in there, separated by poultry vs beef/pork! I love that they won't break like the cheapo/stiff bins I'd had in there before (Dollar Tree). I used smaller 20" x 12" baskets to organize all the frozen veggies, and those work great also. It feels so good knowing exactly what we have in there, right?!? Woo hooo, moving into Spring all organized!!! Yaayyy us!!!! 🏆😀🥒🫑🥔🥓🐷🐄
Yay! Thank you for the motivation! My freezers need organized as well. I can't tell you how much you and your channel have been such a blessing in my life. My 3 year old now asks me what Mrs. Rachel or Mr. Todd is making when he sees me watching your videos.
I stopped using boxes in my freezer as they were too difficult to get in and out. I bought a bunch of canvas bags. Filled each with the same product then wrote the name on the handles. So easy to get in and out and underneath now and keeps chest freezer organized.
Great job, no waste. I recently inventoried my freezer and pantry. Have been using all the older dated items and I'm very pleased with the results! Some of those ears of corn will make a delicious Sweet Corn Ice Cream. (see Baking Sense for recipe) So good!
I'm always dropping stuff out of the upright freezers on my feet as it's just dangerous to even open the doors at times. I'm not that organized unfortunately. Love having fruit juice concentrate on hand for making jelly anytime or even flavoring a glass of iced tea. My dad's favorite is blackberry.
I was laughing when you was struggling to get the things in the bottom of your deep freezer. I am 4’11” and have to almost crawl in with my feet in the air. I am always afraid I am going to fall inside. I really want to get an upright freezer to make it easier to get things out of it.
I have been working through the vegetables and fruits in my freezer as well. Yesterday I made stuffed peppers, with a mix if celery, onions, cubed squash, and beef. I also made mini banana bread loaves, and zucchini brownies with peanut butter chips.
I hope your foot is OK!!! This motivates me to get at my freezers. I have a little one that is SUPPOSED to be for just bread and quick foods and easy to grab things but it always becomes the "Catch ALL" and the big freezer is for meat but like you, I can't reach down to the bottom, so I call it "The Abyss". There's some dang scary stuff down there! But I'm working on canning a bunch of it. 😁😁
So awesome! And just note, I always watch the entire video. I know I see my analytics too and it's kind of low, maybe 8 to 10 mins tops watch time. I love watching your content. Thank you 💕
This got me thinking of all the peppers in my freezer that I had not used. Guess pepper jelly is on my to do list, after I defrost them. Thanks for the motivation!
Have you made any more kiddie treats? We all need to cut back on sugars and unhealthy treats so having you make some inspires us to do the same. I made my son in law energy balls that he loves to have with his coffee in the morning…no baking and they are made with dates, peanut butter, oats, chocolate chips and sometimes I put coconut flakes , sun flower seeds and chia seeds in it.
I keep a few extra laundry baskets just for organizing and doing inventory for the freezers. As I am pulling things out they go in baskets that are with like items and if they are too heavy I can slide them around on the floor and from freezer to freezer
I’m defrosting my “frost-free” upright freezer today and will be reorganizing it tonight. Hopefully this will be the last cold cold spell till next fall. Have to use the outside freezer while I can.
Hi Rachel, I just got an 18qt. Electric roaster, for $40.00, I have looked on Amazon for a new one, they are terribly expensive. If course it is used, but looks like new. Pretty happy about it. Now I feel like m ak I my bone broth.
WOW! That is an amazing freezer space at the end! I love seeing all that food, great work! I've been wanting to get a deep freezer on our little Hawaii Homestead so badly!
I just did mine last week and can totally relate! and Thank You for making short videos! I have been watching another channel for over a year and hers are getting longer and longer and I really stopped watching because of that. Yes we are all busy aren't we? I do like your content and did subscribe but just don't last through long sessions. Thanks again for thinking of your subscribers!
Frozen rock hard freezer bags always fall on the top of your foot. Never fails, part of Murphy's law 😆 The corn cob syrup, isn't this basically corn syrup when done? Like the high fructose kind, but safer and homegrown.
The best way I have found to organize a deep freezer is egg crates you can get them cheap at Home Depot and they stack on top of each other so you can lift out a whole crate to get to the bottom
I have a crate for each item like one for corn one for peppers one for onions etc
I really love and appreciate the shorter videos. Much easier to watch little by little 💜
I totally don't mind that you went thru the freezer and organized it. I personally like the longer preservation and meal videos to see the day start to finish with the projects.
That’s a big job done. We did ours in January, it’s amazing what you find. I wish they could make freezers with automatic rotating shelves, like the file systems in doctors offices.
That’s a big job done! I can’t wait to see the canning process.❤
It’s amazing what we find when we clean out freezers! Good job!
Such a feeling of accomplishment when I organize my freezers. Love watching your videos and learning.
I'm not three minutes in, and you have me smiling. I can relate. Did my freezer last week. Used large coloured bags for "like" items and a label along the edge to guide me. Quick meals and leftovers went into the hanging baskets. So far, it has helped!! Now, back to the vlog!!

Keep up the great work, Rachel! Your integrity and consistency is admired.

Thank you for the shorter format! It does help when I have so many other things happening, but hate missing a video when I see you've posted!
Good job Rachel. No fun organizing but so rewarding.
I always wear gloves when organizing my freezers too! I’ve seen other RUclipsrs organizing many freezers bare handed and I think “how can they handle doing that without gloves?!?”
I like the longer videos. There is a pause so you can go do something and come back. Thanks for sharing.
I can not tell you how many times I have dropped frozen bags on my toes! It smarts!!
I just remembered, commercial freezer operators have a date system you can use, with color coded tags and things with "use first" or when the item was put inside so you know. You'd think someone would have those for ordinary people.

Strawberry jam and BluBarb jam are awesome. Fun video to watch. Thanks for sharing. 🥰🥰🥰
Oh hey, on all those corn on the cob, u can just blanch the cobs cut it off and freeze it in serving size bags, we do tons of that every year, kinda a fan favorite
Perfect music to the freezer shuffle.🤣🤣
ITWAS NOT TOO LONG FOR ME--LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!!
Maybe next year you could sell blueberries to Neighbors from a small farm stand
Love your videos! It always feels like a visit with a good friend!
Our refrigerator compressor went out recently, so I had to do some quick sorting to make room in the chest freezer. I am so grateful to you for canning inspiration because I’ve never canned so much in my life!! Thank you for being real and sharing this with us. 🥰

I love to use bags with handles for freezer stuff. That way it’s easier to lift out
Thank you for the great tip! Bringing lots of ideas to mind on how I can better organize my freezer! Blessings on your day Kiddo!🥰🌻🐛💕
I really enjoyed watching what was in your freezer 💕
Great job, Rachel! I have one upright and one deep freezer, but they are not frost free(my choice, they keep food good longer), so when I organize them I also have to defrost them. Let’s just say, it doesn’t happen very often. Fortunately, I defrosted the upright a couple months ago. This video gets me motivated to do the deep freezer. Thanks! Sorry about your foot.
PS I almost always watch to the end.
I sort like items with handled reusable grocery bags. So much easier to move things around when necessary.
You just make me smile that you for all you do. Have a great day
Hi Rachel, That's A Big Freezer, Reminds me of my grandmother🛡️🌐♀️🎼⌚Nice Tunes, Tons of Food! Veggies! 😊 Tons of Canning 🫙🫙🫙🫙🫙🫙 Jars, WOW!
Oh, I’ve been putting this task off! Today is the day, thank you for the inspiration. Great job!
I use an ice cream scoop to freeze mashed potato on a cookie sheet then store in a gallon bag. Easy to grab what you need.
I deleted my comment about using fabric bags as I see they've been suggested a couple times already! Thanks for being real and showing we don't need to be hoarding enough for the zombie apocalypse lol. Preserve what you need and will use!
I wish I had that many blueberries, but I'm working on building my blueberry bed.
I’ve dropped frozen things on my feet too . Ouch!
Ooh...ouch!! That must have hurt. I like the longer videos. I just put it on like it's a TV series and watch while I'm doing something else. Long, short, either way I enjoy them.

Working on beef bone broth- chicken, then more tomatoes for spaghetti sauce. Then the fruit, 0ye!
We froze so many corn cobs… then two of my kids started braces 😂. Love how creatively you use everything!
Oh wow!
Strawberry rhubarb jelly!
It's so smart to watch your analytics. I agree that shorter is good...even though I just turn on your channel and let it play for hours. LOL
I bought a steam juicer a couple of years ago I do elderberries and have a big amount of grapes! I have been making a lot of tinctures out of the elderberries! We can relate to your experience!! Fun to see & motivate me to tidy up mine again!
I redo my freezers all the time. Unfortunately, I have three other adults that buy food. They mess up my system when they put their stuff away.😂
Oh man did I ever need this video Rachel, those tomatoes would be a great juice item.
Love the size of your freezer! Good job gettimg that big, chilly project done!!! Brilliant never thought to use lightweight gloves. Never even thought. Thanks for the unexpected tip.
Yay! Thank you for the motivation! My freezers need organized as well. I can't tell you how much you and your channel have been such a blessing in my life. My 3 year old now asks me what Mrs. Rachel or Mr. Todd is making when he sees me watching your videos.
Great job! Hope your leg/foot (or whatever you dropped frozen food on ) is ok! You have inspired me to get in there and reorganize my freezers!🤪
I stopped using boxes in my freezer as they were too difficult to get in and out. I bought a bunch of canvas bags. Filled each with the same product then wrote the name on the handles. So easy to get in and out and underneath now and keeps chest freezer organized.
Hi Racheal... it would be good to see how you preserve the Irish potatoes for the freezer
Thanks for inspiring me to clean out my chest freezer!
Woohoo! That's a lot accomplished!

Don’t forget parsley stems for your scrap box 😃
I put a white board on my freezers so I can keep track of everything inside
That was so helpful to see your thought process, as I’m not the most organized but am trying to be better.
How about making some rhubarb and strawberry jam, absolutely delicious. Love, love, love an organised space it allows me to think clearly.
No too much jam already and no juice on the shelves
Will be 'checking in' for that concentrate...sounds amazing !
I was laughing when you was struggling to get the things in the bottom of your deep freezer. I am 4’11” and have to almost crawl in with my feet in the air. I am always afraid I am going to fall inside. I really want to get an upright freezer to make it easier to get things out of it.
Ours is extra bad, because we have it up on cinder blocks - in case we get water in our basement.
Oh Geez, hope your foots okay. Love ya.
hey, that's exactly what I'm doing this weekend!
Please let us know later how the cardboard boxes hold up in the freezer. I need a new organizing system for my chest freezer.
Yay, organized freezer. I need todo 😅that as well.
I have been working through the vegetables and fruits in my freezer as well. Yesterday I made stuffed peppers, with a mix if celery, onions, cubed squash, and beef. I also made mini banana bread loaves, and zucchini brownies with peanut butter chips.
I would really enjoy the blueberry pie filling . Thanks for sharing your organization skills.
I hope your foot is OK!!!

Same with our channel.
Todd Rachel's gonna get you for putting that at the end lol. I know that hurt landing on her foot, I did laugh WITH her haha. Thank you for sharing.
It was her idea 😃
@@1870s nice!
This got me thinking of all the peppers in my freezer that I had not used. Guess pepper jelly is on my to do list, after I defrost them. Thanks for the motivation!
We all have to do that.
I get so many ideas from you. Have a great time making juice.
ill have one big one that is stuffed to do up/ clean and organize, canning etc.
Its a extra workout, getting those items on the bottom😁 I struggle also
My freezer is still on my to-do list 😂
Have you made any more kiddie treats? We all need to cut back on sugars and unhealthy treats so having you make some inspires us to do the same.
I made my son in law energy balls that he loves to have with his coffee in the morning…no baking and they are made with dates, peanut butter, oats, chocolate chips and sometimes I put coconut flakes , sun flower seeds and chia seeds in it.
Great job Rachel!
I just got another freezer! Can't wait to fill it with a side of beef! Lots of stuff getting started in the garden now too. Love from N. Texas.
Buy beef now if you can, 6-9 mos out isn't any better looking
I keep a few extra laundry baskets just for organizing and doing inventory for the freezers. As I am pulling things out they go in baskets that are with like items and if they are too heavy I can slide them around on the floor and from freezer to freezer
Great idea!
Thanks for sharing! It has motivated me to start cleaning out the freezers. Getting ready to make some strawberry rhubarb jam!
I need to get into my freezer stock as well. Tomatos for sure!
I’m defrosting my “frost-free” upright freezer today and will be reorganizing it tonight. Hopefully this will be the last cold cold spell till next fall. Have to use the outside freezer while I can.
I really need to do this too. And I am very interested in recipes for juice and pie filling. Cant wait...see you then
Wow… that was big awesome job!!

I do like your content and did subscribe but just don't last through long sessions. Thanks again for thinking of your subscribers!
That was fun!
Great Job!❤ Wow…didn’t realize you can freeze raw potatoes? Awesome!! I’ll have to try that this season!
Absolutely
Jalapeño and corn cornbread
I need to do this.
Frozen rock hard freezer bags always fall on the top of your foot. Never fails, part of Murphy's law 😆 The corn cob syrup, isn't this basically corn syrup when done? Like the high fructose kind, but safer and homegrown.
Can you take the kernels off those cobs of corn and can up some Mexican Corn? just thinking about that cause I have been craving it. LOL
