Silver metallic - base. The first green layer is semi-transparent to make light green. Before black shadows, I also added green. I think matte looks better. I needed to use a matte clear coat.

I tried this and the masking tape pulled off the paint bellow where am I going wrong

Perhaps the paint didn't dry completely or the primed surface was incorrectly treated before painting

Everything is individual. Clear coats are different. Manufacturers write how long it takes to dry completely. There are for example clear coats that dry in 16 hours at the required temperature
