I'll add 2 things that is in my repair kit: 1) a pair of latex or nitrile gloves to keep yourself clean after finishing your repair. Really helpful if you have to touch the chain. Still helpful for handling a tire repair. 2) a pair of really fine point needle nose pliers (or hefty tweezers) to remove tiny thorns. 90% of flats here in desert country is due to thorns. I had my first trike on-the-road repair a few months ago, and both of these handy. I also had a spare tube which speeded up the repair. I will also add 3) a portable patch kit, for those rare times you get 2 flats on one ride. You will need a patch repair kit for when you get back home, to fix the tube.

I live/ride in Portland, sometime wet.. I use ATB ie: AbsolutelyTheBest chain oil (the RED is made for my conditions)(made in Oregon).. it has a mild solvent to help keep the chain clean, I put it on the rollers first, then wipe off the chain to get excess off, then apply another drop on each roller of the chain, then wipe it off again.. My recumbent chains last twice as long as other riders according to my mechanic.
