Your brief overview of Don Carlo sparked my interest. Thank you -- this one has flown under the radar! Played it for the first time today, and I really enjoyed this simple and fun area majority card game.
Glad you're back and we'll Jeremy! It's refreshing to have someone doing these types of videos without trying to create a business out of it. I also really like the focus on overlooked games.
Bought Monasterium based off this video. It looks incredibly good and right up my alley! Also, sent you a geekmail to invite you on my channel to stream about Boardgames. I'd love to have you on if you can make it. Have a good rest of your weekend Jeremy and welcome back!!
Glad you’re back! I appreciate your coverage of classic(-style) euros and overlooked games. Mexica was a new discovery for me this year; looking forward to trying Renature. I’m glad Iwari is bringing a new audience to a classic series of games, but I’m sticking with my cheapo copy of Han. How did you feel about the playtime of Faiyum? My comments feel it runs long (and feels that way) and that’s a barrier for me to getting games played.
It's a lengthy game, but nothing unmanageable (around 2 hours). The duration feels necessary because near the end of the game the board options will shrink and some cards will outlive their usefulness due to component quantities being limited. I've found that that makes the end of the game (where you're generally stockpiling money and resources in anticipation for the end cards) feel different than the beginning, so it hasn't felt particularly stretched out to me... and players can always expedite the end game by cycling their decks more quickly if they feel that that benefits them... it's similar to Anno 1800 in that regard.
I'm curious about Faiyum. Does the different order that the cards come out keep the game from playing out similarly from game to game? That was my main concern after learning that you see every card during the game. I really enjoy your end of the lists! 2020 was a weird year, but I'm looking forward to getting Renature and My City to the table at some point.
Please put out a best of 2023...and 2022! Always enjoy your takes on these games
Glad to see you back.
We've missed you

Intrigued by Don Carlo. I agree that Cross Clues and My City are awesome and family friendly
