Shishui and Itachi are the most sensible character in entire series, there ideology even surpassed all of their hokages, even Hashirama admitted that
Shisui knew the truth about the world. He knew how shallow their clan is. He knew both the village and the clan needed to change. He knew how to achieve real peace. He was so brave to use hid MS on his own clan for peace in the village. When he failed to do so, he gives his powers to his brother and asks him to do whatever it takes but maintain peace. He didn’t change under any circumstance. What a character Shisui is!🙏🏻

Cuz he also used some clips from the Ninja Storm Revolution cutscenes. It wasn't in the episodes if i remember correctly. That fight with danzo and his green susano was shown in the game only i believe.

Man my personal opinion Shisui deserved to live longer. I bet he could go one to one with tobi no sweat. I wished to see his true potential as they say in the series but we actually never get to saw his real strength. Well lets see if he comes in boruto or not !!
Both his and Itachi´s potential are stated to be comparable. So he surely would have become incredibly strong. Although I personally don´t believe he is on paar with Madara and Obito

If he was alive he would have topped the charts I feel.
n the light novel he is shown to be slightly superior in their sparring sessions, however he is also around 3-4 years older.
The story demanded him to be stronger at one point, so Itachi has someone to look up to, learn from and strive to become as good or even better.
@Aightdude Yes he was in their 1 vs 1 encounters. Shisui won nearly twice as much. Most likely due to his age, as it is mentioned several times, that Itachi and Shisui are on par in terms of talent.
Danzo went as far as describing Itachi as a Shinobi, that can only be seen every 100 hundred years and the most giftet Shinobi to ever go to the academy (including probably Kid Minato).
So while Shisui was stronger during his lifetime, Itachi most likely surpassed him at some point despite his Illness
Also Shisuis Susanno is game only - so non canon, even though he most likely did have it

It’s your opinion but the author (especially in the Novels) heavily indicates, that both a near equal in talent, which is reasonable for the plot.
Shisui served the plot as Itachis mentor, friend and role model, from whom he can take over morals and ideals in order to convince the audience of Itachi‘s good intentions and make him joining Akatsuki more reasonable.
