  • We are back working on the Roadster project- In this video we finish off fixing the front cross member and fabricate a custom made Front spreader bar using a 1928 Ford Brake cross shaft. An old trick used for many years that gives you a nice looking bar with a mount for a variety of options

    Fast Cut makes really good plasma cutter cnc table setup as you I'm sure already know. I was welder fitter for most of my life, I definitely concur with you, one of the greatest tips for a welding is to make sure you get comfortable as best as you can sometimes it's impossible depending on the circumstances but the more comfortable you are the better your welds you will achieve in the long run.

    Why is it every time after I watch an episode, I end up in the garage working on my 51 F1? Your tunes playlist is with me as well. I wish I had 1/2 your fab skills. I'll get there but I am twice your age, so I better get on it! Cheers

    Great way to repurpose old bits. And, I really like your idea of mounting the license plate of that single bracket.

      Always nice to use those old bits, I never throw any thing away, I’m continually reminded 😂

    I had a 1930, 5 window coupe as a high school kid in the ‘60s. I bought it for $75 and kept it original. Fun to see those elegant mechanical parts again and remember when cars were simple machines and easy to understand. Good to see you back!

    • @bennettscustomsco
      @bennettscustomsco  Год назад +1

      Much simpler back then Gary! I couldn’t imagine paying $75 for a 5 window coupe! Holly smokes

    I really enjoy watching your work Jordan and you have inspired me. I bought myself a plasma table and it was a game changer, in fact it was how I discovered you via Karl @ make it customs channel, I'm sure he will agree a plasma table is no substitute for skill , which everyone will agree you have in spades, however the ability to cut and recut brackets saves so much time. Before if I spent anytime making a bracket and it was slightly off I would have to use it, not anymore, a few clicks and boom a new one

      Absolutely right. Doesn’t take the skill away just more efficient! The goal this year to get one

    Love the spreader bar. I might have to steal that idea for my coupe. I was already thinking about a fog light on that mount before you said it. Pretty cool stuff there, thanks for sharing.

    Exactly how I make my brackets. Not enough volume to warrant anything more exotic than a 4" grinder,
    and a linisher. A bit of time spent gets you a real neat finish!

    I was happy to see another video from down under Jordan. What a great idea making that spreader bar out of the "A" Brake actuator. After seeing it, I was kinda surprised that Henry didn't make the spreader V shaped like that with a good sized 8 in the center of it! :) Hoping that you and your family have a wonderful new year!

    Over in the US, we use torchmate plasma tables a lot for customs fabrication needs. we used solid works as the cad system. easier to learn, plus it has 3d modeling capabilities, and the ability to generate a cad file from a photo.

    Hi Jordan
    Hare & Forbes has a plasma system which is an ARCDROID CNC Robot which would go well in your shop with limited space check it out could be the ducks guts for you. Also you have one of there stores in Perth. I would like to know where you got the drawing for the chassis I would love to get one of those great videos.
