Visited the waterfall park a couple years ago. Lovely place. It looks like the tree house part is a newer addition because I don't recall seeing it. Open road and a motorcycle is always an adventure. Thanks Loucous. Mitch 🙏

This episode brought back memories of 20 years ago when I spent a lot of time in Chiang Mai. I love Pattaya, but I had a lot of friends who preferred the north and one friend who settled in and spent the rest of his life there. CM definitely has a charm all its own.

I live just north of Chiang Rai but try to ride to Chiang Mai once a month. You really got lucky with the weather. It;s been raining all this week! I'm planning to visit Route 66 next month, weather permitting.

Are you going to come to Chiang Rai City? Jewel of the north. I lived in Chiang Mai for a while and only once went in a bar at Zoe in Yellow. Full of kids. I miss Chiang Mai, though. Love the old town. Get down Loi Kroh and enjoy yourself, lad.

The last time I was at the Chiang Mai night market, I found a taco stand run by a Burmese guy that worked at a Mexican restaurant in Canada….. his English was really good, the tacos were ok and suffice if you have a craving.

I made that silly comment about a BMW convertible on the Live, but I did want to ask you…are convertibles even purchased much in Thailand? I mean aside from maybe heavily taxed ‘imports’? Just looking at videos, I never seem to notice any.

fairly rare here, they are around but between the hot sun and rainy season I guess they are not too popular with the locals.

Lucas I didn’t know you had a 1250. My GSA 1250 was very comfortable for touring. The new 1300 has a sportier footpeg position so it doesn’t agree with my busted up ankles. BMW screwed up a great bike.

A Dangerous Game if Your Driving . Safe Travels..
Back from my trip to Thailand--Pros--cost of things are a lot cheaper than in US. The Thai people were so kind and helpful to me as I needed a little extra help getting things. The breakfast buffets were actually incredible. 7-11's are a million times better in Thailand than in the US. Cons--omg sidewalks are embarrassingly bad in Pattaya. Bangkok were much better. The hotels are confused about what wheelchair accessibility is. Not one bathroom was accessible. Doors ways too small to fit my chair into the bathroom completely in 2 of the 3 places I stayed. Luckily I'm very ambulatory and can adapt to most situations. Flying into Doha on the way home was just awful--the staff were totally freaked out by someone in a wheelchair that is independent. They actually scolded me for transferring into the seat on my own. So fucking weird. And to top the trip off, I got Covid on the way home. LOL. Overall I enjoyed the trip but the weather was just terrible. Rained everyday. I learned a lot. I would never lived in Pattaya or Bangkok, still think Hua Hin is a better place to live. Much less busy.
You can’t visit Chiang Mai without a visit to the Chiang Mai Erotic Garden.

A friend of mine has recently purchased the BMW M1000XR and claims it's the best bike he's ever owned! He raves about it constantly, but he'll probably part exchange it within 18 months for the next best bike he's ever owned.😂
A friend of mine has a late model XR1000 with an after market power pipe fitted and sounds like a formula 1 when passing at speed, actually scared the sh*t out of me on more than one occasion!
But, the one thing I'm not a fan of is the loud high revs on cool / cold start ups!
Yeah, basically the sport bike motor in a touring bike package, good stuff.

It is no fun riding in the rain. Every bit of the ride changes. Including the fun aspect.

@@Rwj378 Having ridden in Thailand over the past 25 years I strongly disagree. I have never experienced so many bikes coming out of side roads straight into the main road without looking and even carrying on on the wrong side of the road! Self preservation is paramount.
