If you have sticky buttons, follow John's instructions for removal of the back. I have the remote with two screws and one holding down on circuit board at the top. You can clean the buttons with alcohol and q-tips. Make sure to run the q-tip in between the buttons to really clean the junk out. Thanks John good video.
This was very helpful! I took mine apart and it looked like an entire Dr. Pepper was spilled in there! I used some QD cleaner and now it works perfectly. Getting this stupid thing apart was the hardest part! Thanks!
You might not have known this, but I found out that using the cleaner dissolved the good oils at the same time as cleaning the gunk out of the nooks and crannies. It caused the volume and channel clicker buttons to stick. My solution was to pop the remote back apart and apply a couple drops of light oil. I used Pecan Oil, but I am sure there are better oil choices. Thanks for the video!
Needed a lot of cleaning, holds liquid for a really long time, lots of dog hair (yum). Started with dish detergent & soft brush, moved to alcohol. The toggles have a little tab on the side, it goes toward the outside. Don't stab yourself prying. Plastic scrapers might be safer for hands & the plastic shell.
I did this, I used some alcohol to clean the circuit board where the button lay on, and cleaned the buttons. i guess some sticky stuff got inside. thank you

Thanks for posting. Washed rubber in dish soap and scrubbed contacts with isopropyl. Remote works great now.
