Aluminium cans also kills a lot of animals by being throw away in to nature. The old plastic bottles was used up to 100 times before they got melted down these new ones with the thin walls leak toxic material from day one.

Such good info about aluminium. We buy our drinks and juice concentrates and really whatever we can in aluminium rather than plastic and have done for many years . The relatively few plastic bottles we have used have become roofing shingles on sheds and barns, strong lightweight chains and broom bristles.

Aluminium production and recycling uses a lot of energy, more than plastic bottles do. This means more CO2 emissions. Infinitely recyclable is also untrue, material is lost in every recycling process, so new energy-costly aluminium has to be used. I appreciate the good will but this is not better than plastic bottles, it's just shifting the problem to a different material! Reusable and glass bottles are the way to go.

@@vottoduder Aluminum by percentage is more reusable than plastic. Because of how it is reforged into a aluminium lug with little to no loss of material. Most plastics can be recyclable, but in most cases, the cost of recycling that bottle is more expensive than just making a new one. So companies, instead of doing the right thing for our Earth, just decide to make a new one.
@@vottoduder some plastics like plastic film and plastic bottle caps are "too" costly to recycle and the return of material is so low its not worth the cost. Plus many countries simply do bot have the infrastructure to support it or economy to export it (at their cost), i think if lets say, India (a big producer of waste plastic) sold its waste plastic to europe, say 70% of it (all recyclable 30% not, as a rough percentage) with the money earned going towards the cost of sorting/cleaning with some small profit and europe getting cheaper plastic as a base product to refine / recycle into what it needs we would solve a lot of the issues we have now and stop further pollutuon whilst we transition into aluminium products as our recyclable packaging. We live in a majority capitalist world, I agree with what you're saying but the reality is not everyone is so selfless or environmentally thinking, if you making environmentally friendly business practices cost efficient or better yet save money, then it usually becomes a different story.
@@vottoduder the expensive part is the cleaning and sorting, well it would be for our end due to the cost of labour. Once Aluminium is mined, refined and press forged into the can shape all of which isnt as expensive as you'd think (from my experience in 12+ years of engineering), its in the system and the most expensive part, the mining and refining, is already done as as the video states is100% recyclable as press forged aluminium only needs trimming and the trimmings are reused, you melt it back down and get 100% of that back. But yes countries less well off are going to use the cheapest methods and materials available, as do we when we provide relief to them. China however, is prosperous now producing millionaires/billionaires, they have just done so in such a short time by not giving a crap like western countries did in the past but on steroids.

Abhishek Mishra You must be aware, I hope, that aluminium soda cans have a lining inside? This is because aluminum is poisonous/ toxic to humans, amongst other creatures. This lining may have BPA.
I’ve found a few handy links (see below), so don’t just believe that aluminium is the bees knees of metals. It is a light, inexpensive metal, but it will react with soda, and many acidic foods, like tomato. This is why, if you cook in alumimium, and have leftovers, never leave them in the aluminium pot to avoid contamination by the aluminium. Same goes for cooking utensils. Luckily, most people use stainless steel, silicone etc. these days.

I still think stainless steel is the best option..

Man, I've been looking for aluminum cans of water to go mainstream for a while. Would definitely buy over plastic if the option was right there next to the bottles. 10/10. Keep it up, man. It's for a good cause.
There is still a very thin layer of plastic inside of a can, so technically not the best for the environment...If they went glass, the slow decline in sand resources/cost of glass does not make it economical either.

Such good info about aluminium. We buy our drinks and juice concentrates and really whatever we can in aluminium rather than plastic and have done for many years . The relatively few plastic bottles we have used have become roofing shingles on sheds and barns, strong lightweight chains and broom bristles.

Aluminium production and recycling uses a lot of energy, more than plastic bottles do. This means more CO2 emissions.
Infinitely recyclable is also untrue, material is lost in every recycling process, so new energy-costly aluminium has to be used.
I appreciate the good will but this is not better than plastic bottles, it's just shifting the problem to a different material! Reusable and glass bottles are the way to go.

I know I should not hold a grudge , but I am still angry about more telescopes being placed on Mauna Kea. It was bad enough that they had already placed so many on sacred land. A time when I was in college comes to mind; I remember the cold stares I received for suggesting that we organize a trip to a local park to clean up litter. The stares came from classmates who said they wanted to do something to help clean up the environment. We should all be more like you, and do, not just say.
I would love to open a community center that would help to educate people on the dangers of things like plastic and litter. I think part of the problem is that the most people are not really aware of what things like plastic do to their bodies, and to the environment. I often wonder if people realize what is really at stake. To be fair, it is hard to see with big companies downplaying the dangers.

@@vottoduder Aluminum by percentage is more reusable than plastic. Because of how it is reforged into a aluminium lug with little to no loss of material. Most plastics can be recyclable, but in most cases, the cost of recycling that bottle is more expensive than just making a new one. So companies, instead of doing the right thing for our Earth, just decide to make a new one.

@@vottoduder some plastics like plastic film and plastic bottle caps are "too" costly to recycle and the return of material is so low its not worth the cost. Plus many countries simply do bot have the infrastructure to support it or economy to export it (at their cost), i think if lets say, India (a big producer of waste plastic) sold its waste plastic to europe, say 70% of it (all recyclable 30% not, as a rough percentage) with the money earned going towards the cost of sorting/cleaning with some small profit and europe getting cheaper plastic as a base product to refine / recycle into what it needs we would solve a lot of the issues we have now and stop further pollutuon whilst we transition into aluminium products as our recyclable packaging.
We live in a majority capitalist world, I agree with what you're saying but the reality is not everyone is so selfless or environmentally thinking, if you making environmentally friendly business practices cost efficient or better yet save money, then it usually becomes a different story.

@@vottoduder the expensive part is the cleaning and sorting, well it would be for our end due to the cost of labour. Once Aluminium is mined, refined and press forged into the can shape all of which isnt as expensive as you'd think (from my experience in 12+ years of engineering), its in the system and the most expensive part, the mining and refining, is already done as as the video states is100% recyclable as press forged aluminium only needs trimming and the trimmings are reused, you melt it back down and get 100% of that back.
But yes countries less well off are going to use the cheapest methods and materials available, as do we when we provide relief to them. China however, is prosperous now producing millionaires/billionaires, they have just done so in such a short time by not giving a crap like western countries did in the past but on steroids.
