    Howdy neighbor. Appreciate the video. Yea I used to help Randy and his wife work the Bear Creek Canoe Run in the summers. I've known them for years. Their home and chicken houses got blown away during the tornadoes that year over in Spruce Pine. The canoe run building there off the highway there heading to Hackleburg got damaged too but we fixed it. Down in The Dismals is a good spot to film too. Me and my momma used to live down there almost 40 years ago when I was about 3-4. But anyway yea haven't been down to Military Bridge in years. I always loved walking around exploring down that way. We have some beautiful places here. Take care Plowboy. 🐍🇺🇸 P.S. I love foxbody Mustangs too. And square body Chevy trucks. Aaaand pretty much any older classic vehicle. I bought an '87 Chevy K20 4wd truck late last fall that I've been tinkerin' with. It runs good but needs a few odd and ends done. I won't yap on about all that now tho. Talk to you later sir.

    Is that the bridge near Chigger Hill? I've never been to the bottom of that one. Of course I don't know when any of the bridges were built but my understanding is that in this area the term military bridge, road or trail was in reference to Andrew Jackson's trek through the area while on his way south during the War of 1812 and the battle of New Orleans. There are lots of those Veteran grave markers in our area. It's a shame most of that story has been lost to history. I enjoyed the walk and talk.

    I bought a Simply Rugged OWB (strong side) for my custom Blackhawk, but... I never considered that my belt loops on my britches are in JUST the wrong spot, forcing me to carry either further back or forward than my ideal carry position. I may have to resort to buying a Mernickle OWB high ride. I like your crossdraw holster, but I prefer to carry where my shirt drapes over it while I am in the woods (I live in UBER-liberal part of the country and don't need the citizens getting all worked up, ha!) Love your vids, they help me relax and chill after work

    • @plowboysghost
      @plowboysghost  2 месяца назад +2

      Split the belt loop! Meaning...put the belt through one slot of the holster, then through the belt loop of your britches, then through the forward slot in the holster.
      The pants belt loop is in the middle of the holster then.

    • @petert8807
      @petert8807 2 месяца назад +1

      @@plowboysghost Good advice, under some cirumstances. This holster has a long flap/foldover for a belt loop, more of an Old West style holster, so there's no way to split the loop. No worries for now, as I have carry setups for other pistols.

    • @jasonelliott2736
      @jasonelliott2736 Месяц назад +2

      5 minutes with needle and thread, move that offending loop. Did that on all my britches for my Bianchi Dirty Harry Rig shoulder rig for a 8 3/8” Model 29. That being said, I’ve got Mernickles PS6SA for an Old Model Vaquero. Carries it high and tight, and like Plowboy says, split the loop, you’ll be delighted with it.

    Man plowboy that's a beautiful area. I miss areas like that. I hate living in the Desert. Funny enough my first 4 wheeler was a mid 80s Suzuki quadsport. It was a very used and Abused 4 Wheeler. it had no brakes. the entire time I owned it. Only way to stop was down shifting or just running into something....the good old days. Kind of funny how so many of us in this Community had similar hobby and Interests. My first car was a camaro iroc-z. I bought from a junk yard when I was 15. It's was junk but really got me into always having at least 1 sports car. Had Multiple early 2000's camaros and transAms. Than it went to corvettes and exotics. Had a ferrari f430 for a while then traded that for a Lamborghini huracan. Unfortunately when i sold my company right before the Pandemic. I sold everything Except a corvette Z06 that makes just under 1000hp and runs 9s in the 1/4 mile. That z06 will probably be the one car I will have for the rest of my life.

      You ain't kidding.
      Less than 10 minutes away, where I grew up, you could walk in a freshly plowed field after a rain and pick them up on top of the ground. Still could...if they'd plow it again.

      Insane traffic and distracted drivers keep me off 2 wheels on the roads .
      I've had my pickup run into by cars while l was stationary 3 or 4 times. ( You know it's bad when it's so often you can't keep count ).
      Don't want to risk it on a motorcycle.
      Thought some more .
      Three times in C-10 , once in F-100 , once more can't remember which vehicle . Plus not quite a year ago , wife had her Explorer totaled that way . ( '99 Police Package , last year of the 5.0 V-8 )
