Dude, the 'outside filter' button(second last on the top row) you were referring to was actually to control the center vent for the back seat.

Thank you so much! I literally could not find the button to do the back ac and thought it wasn’t working. If I hadn’t seen your comment, I would have taken it in to Lexus 🤣

You stated that the "S-Flow" button "filters the air" and is good for people with allergies. Incorrect. All that button does is turn off the A/C-Heat flow to the rear of the cabin & gives maximum airflow to the front cabin (i.e. if there is no one in the back seat). And, if the system doesn't sense a front seat passenger, it concentrates all the airflow on the driver. It has nothing to do with filtering. All air goes through the cabin air filter system. It isn't something you can turn on/off.

Thank you Oivey! I noticed that my front passenger temperature indicator display turned off when I didn't have a front passenger. Thought my display was broken. Still love the car, but figured it had a strange defect. Had no idea what the s flow button was. Didn't really pay much attention to it until a randomly came across this video and saw your comment.

Thanks for correcting that error! That s-flow button will have you thinking your vehicle is not working properly. S-flow light on, means only the driver gets A/C or heat. S-flow light off means the whole vehicle gets a/c or heat. It's supposed to be a fuel economy save feature...

@@jasonjones544 Yup! Actually, only the driver gets A/C or heat if there is no front seat passenger and it can economically do so. If there is a passenger, both get it when S-Flow is activated, just not the rear passengers. But I've been driving by myself using the HVAC and both driver/passenger side get air even though I'm alone because the system figures it needs to use those passenger vents in order to get the correct temp. But yeah, it's supposed to save energy ultimately by not heating/cooling parts of the vehicle that don't have occupants. I don't see it on the newer models though...just a button that says "Dual" which makes me wonder if they did away with that feature or still use it on higher trim lines (I have the Luxury Package in the RX350).

Good catch, definitely just a flow direction button.
Anyone ran into issues where new RX 450 seems to have super weak AC? In the heat of colorado my AC seems to be trying but only fans out like 70 degree air, which hardly works when its 95-100 out. If the cabin is already pretty cool, AC works pretty well.

How do you turn on the backseat area?

The rear a/c will also come on when the back doors have been opened before starting the vehicle.

Wow, I've had my 2020, which has the same climate control, for over 3 years now and am just learning about how it operates. I did not even know that I have heated side view mirrors or that windshield wiper defroster. Live and learn, eh.

    Good instructional video, thanks.
Question: is there a way to turn off the fan (or climate control) for the passenger side only? (when there's a passenger in the seat)

Are you telling me indirectly and crypticly that AC does not exist in manual control? How idiotic is that!!
