🏰 A Disney fan’s hub for all Walt Disney news today!
If you’re looking for exclusive Disney news or want to experience the inside of the Disney parks, then you’re in the right place. The magic is just a click away! 🚀
For over 16 years, WDW News Today has been your go-to for all things Disney - news, podcasts, radio, and video. We've had a blast sharing our love for Disney, and it's all thanks to our dedicated audience that we're now the best website for Disney Parks News worldwide.
What do you think of Disney's newest attraction?
‼️👏👏👏👏‼️ (t’s too early for actual words, apparently ⬅️) 😂 Fantastic job!
It seems like such a chill, pleasant place to hang out. I'm not even upset that the villains aren't present. Disney needs to do more B- and C- ticket rides, and this one is 1,000% better than Na'avi River Journey.
It's short
I feel like it needed one more scene. But, the animatronics were amazing and it is beautiful!
Waaaay to short
Focusing solely on the romance storyline is actually quite ingenuous for a boat ride, it’s giving retro “tunnel of love” vibes. Japan loves their cute date nights, and this is absolutely perfect for that.
Yes exactly! And in perfect timing, found my new love and we both agreed on doing what we can to save to Tokyo disney and thank God for this ride❤❤
It's cheap.
@@lyndakorner2383cheap = US disney 😂
@@lyndakorner2383No for some rides you don’t really need villians.
@@lyndakorner2383 - It is infinitely superior to the “Tangled” toilets in Magic Kingdom.
Interesting they decided to remove any elements of threat or villainy from the film, as we don't see any of Mother Gothel, or even Flynn Ryder's hunters, but it is kind of cute and relaxing to just enjoy a ride telling a blossoming love story
It’s Japan and north Asian nations are really into romantic settings, dating and that kind of stuff.
Asian societies still can't accept public depictions of narcisistic mothers, although they do exist in real life. They're OK with old witches, but a young beautiful bad mother... that's too much reality for a fantasy land.
Tui
It’s not the story of the film per se. the ride focuses on the romantic story between the two main characters. It’s not a summary of the movie
They get an A+++ for animatronics and sheer beauty of the sets. They get a D for storytelling and length of ride.
It’s not long enough
You can see Rapunzel healing up Flynn Rider’s left hand wrapped with her long magic glowing hair that she now sings the best magical song of “Healing Incantation” in Japanese with her eyes closed this time.
@@bdao1593 lol if that rapunzel was a real person, she would have fallen asleep less than an hour after she started singing
It's stunning, but feels short. I would have liked to at least seen a scene or two with Mother Gothel and the hair getting cut, reuniting with her parents, but the scenes chosen are presented absolutely perfectly.
completely agree. i was like "thats it?" I mean it was beautifully made but there was nothing to it
it's like the little mermaid ride. We miss out on ursula getting her ass handed to her and stabbed in the gut. It's fine. Maybe we can something for the tangled series at some point?
The ride is about the lanterns scene not the whole movie ! It’s more about scenes that connect Flynn with Rapunzel !
Japan is also about romantic stuff
Rapnuzel's hair getting cut would be really hard to make live using animatronics
I wish they added two more scenes: the I’ve Got a Dream scene at the Snuggly Duckling and then the dance at the palace square. Both are still lighthearted and would fit in nicely
I thought the same thing !
Yea me too it would’ve been nice! I still love how the ride turned out though it’s so beautiful :)
but people would probably ask how eugene (flynn's real name) hurt his hand, since without the snuggly duckling scene you can infer that he hurt it while walking with rapunzel through the forest
Japan "we have a full tangled ride with a land and full Animatronic singing outside what do you got disneyworld?" Disneyworld "Bathrooms!"
Disney US abandons Disney to compete with Harry Potter with Galaxys Edge instead using it's timeless properties.
I just wish that Disney could Rapunzel ride to the US in Disney World and Disneyland because in Disney World they just only had bathrooms with no ride at all.😊
@@ItFlorentinthey also need a dedicated nightmare before Christmas ride at Disney world
Ah ah ah themed bathrooms lmao
Best bathrooms at MK by far
That lantern scene is so perfect
Itll be a long time before any of the us parks do anything that good
That scene is almost a copy-paste of the 'Kiss the girl' scene in the Little Mermaid dark ride.
Watching Disneyland Paris building a whole new half of a park, on flat unrestricted fresh soil, and they're just getting a teacups under lanterns ride 😂
I'd argue that the redone Tiana ride is a good attempt.
@@RHTQ1 not even close
Okay but I could absolutely see some proposals happening while the boats go through the lantern scene.
I’m stealing this idea 😅
@@Luckydog-cc9jnNo I am lol
I'm back watching this video after seeing Tiana's Bayou Adventure- this blows it out of the water in comparison by a lot in terms of storytelling elements and overall set design/pacing. It's enough to look at without feeling bored and the lantern scene is breathtaking on its own alone.
The scoring/mixing of the ride's soundtrack seems so thoughtfully considered and beautiful.
I wish they used gothel. Imagine a final scene in the tower with rapunzel reviving flynn. It would be gorgeous.
I love how simple and beautiful this ride is. Not all rides have to be big broadway productions and I love how tranquil this one turned out
Incredible ride. It translates the movie so well to the real world. Short but sweet.
Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea will be the very first Disney park that I will take my future kids to.
Wow this looks incredible! The way how the animatronics move, the projection on Rapunzel hair, and the sets are so damn amazing!
I gasped over the Set Yourself Free instrumental in the queue
Desperate to see this in real life someday
That map at the end explaining the whole ride layout is amazing
Though it should have said "Gothel Tower", not "Rapunzel Tower".
Where is the map? Do you mean the room with drawings?
I'm actually jealous of how advanced Tokyo is with their technology. It's insane
Not in this case. The animatronics are still made in USA by Disney Imagineers. Do more research man
Apart from what the other person pointed out, Japan, including Tokyo, has some great tech, but they are also very behind in other areas of tech (generally those you would use in everyday life). I love Japan, but we need to be honest about it
its the moneys, not the tech.
It was my dream to be under a lanterns like Rapunzel and it can happen now thanks a lot to whoever came up with the idea.
As someone who was obsessed with Tangled, this is beautiful!
I wanna hear Tom’s honest review of this thing so bad. This is on another level.
Where mother Gothel fine self at … she a baddie… ??
Can we have Fantasy Springs in Florida please!!
@@larryg3038sure ! In 2034!
@@larryg3038I wish 😭
Tokyo has exclusive rights to all its rides, we’re never getting these in America
Does look amazing. Probably won’t ever see this for years. Thanks for letting us all enjoy!
Either Tokyo Disneyland or Disneysea, they're totally killing it with good special effects, attention to details and also realistic animatronics.
Tokyo is killing it!
I didn't grow up with this movie, and I've only seen in once on tv, but this ride hit my romance-bone so hard, I'm now a huge fan.
Looks amazing! 🔥🔥 Only possible complaint is maybe too short of a ride but looks really good!
It’s like a relaxing tunnel of love ❤️ it’s soo beautiful and the music is lovely. We need this at Disneyland
You’ve got enough unique rides, how about other parks having something individual instead of being greedy
@@TayWoodeWhat are you talking about😂
@@BlinkArmy4 lol it’s coz everytime there’s a new attraction in an international disney park the comment section is full of Americans saying “we need this in California/ Orlando? Why don’t we have it?”
You never see an attraction in those parks with comments like “we need this in Tokyo/Paris/Hong Kong, Shanghai right now”
Short, but gorgeous! A perfect c-ticket in my opinion.
Agreed...short..but think I cried
This is surreally pretty. OLC really cares about what they do. Thank you for bringing this to us, Tom. I could cry. Gorgeous!
They really took immersive experience to a whole another level bruh wtf.
I’m a huge Tangled fan and this is so dreamy and beautiful! 😍
There is music from the show in the instrumentals and im so here for it
Oh really? Which ones are featured? It's been a while since I've heard the show's soundtrack.
I heard "Set Yourself Free" in the line. Around 1:35
@@punxsydawn Oh wow thanks! I've just gone straight to the show's soundtrack. I'd heard stuff like Crossing The Line but season 1 isn't as familiar to me, so this is really nice. I gotta start watching the show properly at some point too. I'm a bit sad because RUclips has disabled comments on a lot of the show soundtrack videos, which has resulted in a couple of things being lost. I'm a blind person, and back in the day someone actually commented back describing all of the song's sequences in detail, and what was amazing was there were two users who seemed to seek out my comments and describe each song as I came upon them, and I never got to thank them for it as I go there and one day, poof, RUclips's disabled comments, blasting the descriptions beyond the digital ether and not giving me the chance to thank the people who took time out of their day to describe some stuff to me via the comments.
If Disney World, were to ever get this I would genuinely cry tears of joy. But it’s unlikely they would ever do something like this
This ride looks incredible but I would have loved to see a scene from the snuggly duckling
It’s so beautiful 🥹
wow the lanterns were memorizing and the castle picture before was beautiful
Anyone else cry during the lantern scene 😭❤
I love that they use some of the music from the Tangled sequel series in the queue :)))
I wish I can find that rendition of “I See the Light (Japanese)” in full one day, the score and singing voices are more beautiful than even the movie!
Depending on which region you’re in.
It will release on streaming on june 19. You can buy the CD in the park
@@idk-zt8rx Where can I find it?
Have you found it anywhere?
I find it interesting how they used a song from tangled the series/rapunzels tangled adventure for the waiting room
This is one of the beatiful boat rides i have ever seen
I would’ve loved to have seen a mother gothel animatronic, but this ride is very sweet ❤️
I think this is going to be my favorite ride in Fantasy Springs!!
THIS IS WHERE I WANNA BE PROPOSED TOO. GOING THROUGH THE LANGERN SCENEEEEE. IVE GOT A DREAM AND THIS IS IT
So so good, but needs one or two additional scenes, too short.
Even though i can't understand a WORD this are breathtaking
The only issues I see are that 1: The ride is on the short side and 2: The outside animatronics. Don't get me wrong they are amazing feats of technology, but the constant exposure to the elements could pose problems for their longevity in the future.
Omg this is fabulous!!! Love how it starts OUTSIDE!
THIS HOW YOU DO AN IMMERSIVE RIDE!
THE RIDE LOOKS GREAT!
Watching this makes me want to get back to the parks, any of them. Someday my wife and I will find a way to again.
The visuals are stunning but that's it
OMG THEY'RE PLAYING MUSIC FROM TANGLED THE SERIES!!!!!!! 1:38
Wow how wonderful 😊
This ride could’ve used more scenes, but otherwise looks great
Wow! Stunned. This is like 10x better than that weird Navi River thing.
Ride start: 3:45
This is so beautiful. The technology is crazy impressive, the atmosphere well-designed. The 'tunnel of love' theme is perfect... and better for younger kiddos too! I love the healing scene...
Speechless!!!!!!
WDW use to be the premier park. No more. OLC second to known. The king is dead. Long live the king.
It’s lit beautifully.
Short but beautifully done, they outdid themselves on all three major rides especially their version of frozen.
Peter pan also looks quite fun
6:49 WHY DOES THIS SOUND BETTER THAN IT DOES IN THE MOVIE?!
*** since I am Asian, I’ve seen it in Japanese and Chinese
The voices were not harmonizing this well in the film! I swear it’s different
8:14 and then switching parts like this wasn’t part of it either! Love it!
Super short, but the lanterns made me cry
Such a beautiful 🤩 attraction! ☀️ 🏮
Looks amazing! Please come to WDW 🙏
Not going to happen.
Love the lantern festival scene, absolutely stunning 🤩
Oh my gosh. Bring this ride to the U.S. please! Please!!!! I beg you. This is my all-time favorite Disney movie and I have been dreaming about a ride like this. Please, California! Please!!!!! 🙏🏼 🎵 I've got a dream! 🎵 Lol
Wow this was so magical
It does feel different at night
This ride looks amazing!
Here’s a timestamp for the beginning of the ride: 3:48
Also the detail/animatronics look spectacular
Gorgeous
I cried a lot while watching this
I love this so much! Tangled is my favourite Disney film and I love how sweet and simple this is, definitely an easy ride to enjoy! But I really wish there were a couple more scenes like the Snuggly Duckling, or the end scene with the hair being cut and Flynn/Eugene being revived, I feel like they would add to the magical feel of the ride. Or even some projections on the walls as transitions between the animatronics to carry the story a bit more and flesh the ride out. I wish there was more Tangled content at the parks though, so this is super exciting!
Also I'd genuinely like to thank you for putting this video up. As someone who has never been to the parks, and will probably struggle to get to them in future, I really appreciate the vicarious experiences I can get through the ride videos and vlogs!
Think I’ve watched this 4 times already. So beautiful. Worth multiple rides. Wonder how much the light/lantern bill could be? :)
It's an amazing ride, based off of the 2010 Disney movie & the 2017-2020 Disney Channel show! In fact, Rapunzel & Eugene are so kawaii; nonetheless do you folks ever imagine Ash & Serena from Pokemon, cosplayed as Rapunzel & Eugene, hmm?🎉🎉 Odin's Hideous Zippleback!👍👍
the line at the beginning was way to suspenseful for me 😂
Its so perfect I can't believe
Very beautiful! Am I correct in seeing that part is outside and part inside/dark ride? I think it's an A+ based on looks and attention to detail but maybe a B- on storytelling just because it's only Flynn/Rapunzel's love story, nothing with Mother Gothel. But overall looks like an amazing ride!
Ugh this is beautiful!!! One of my goals in life is to visit this place one day
This part made me cry 4:25 and this make me filled up with tears 5:41 my heaven 7:17
So excited for this
This looks amazing! Thanks for sharing. Heading there in 2 weeks, we can't wait!!!
I WENT THERE LAST YEAR WHEN THERE WASNT THIS RIDE 😭😭
シーラプンツェル出来てくれて嬉しい💜
So…better rides than in the US parks.
Its a beautiful ride but very short. However i know its not a journey ride. Though to be honest i don't think i would wait 3 hours for this ride. Even how beautiful the animatronics are.
With Standby Pass, it probably will never be that long
Would've been a nice attraction for Disneyland that could replace the motorboats that closed in 1993. Perhaps going under Autopia and partially under the Matterhorn?
They likely can’t build any of this since OLC has an exclusivity contract
Curious to see how well the AA's handle being outside.
They’re not full AAs, much like the witch in Mine Train
@@WDWNT Hay Tom, can I just say, I'm a blind person, and that video where you returned to the studio the other day, then spent time actually describing Disney Springs, all of the elements, I think that's so cool. I know you and your writers do this a lot describing what the bags, shirts and merch look like as well, and, honestly, it's such a diffferent thing to do on the channel when you report on these items. Please keep this up. I don't know how much you know this but you are helping the blind community to understand, and bringing imagination to life, by doing that.
The lantern scene is amaaaazing BUT the ride is way too short ! Just 4 scenes and you are out ! Comparing with the frozen ride or peter pan this is very surprising.
This does look absolutely stunning, but it feels incredibly short with how much they hyped it up. Don’t get me wrong, the quality of what is presented is great, and I’m sure they were focusing on the romance, but I feel like omitting some scenes kinda makes their love story feel a little rushed along with the big reveal of the lantern scene. I guess I was just expecting more for it being the first Tangled ride and coming from the video of the Frozen ride. I get Frozen is more popular, but considering that none of the other parks are probably going to make a Tangled ride soon, you’d think they’d want to go more ham. Idk, maybe I was too excited for it.
To be honest, the lanterns scene is the most iconic part of the movie ! Probably I would ride many times if wasn’t watching so many videos !
@@PauloSiqueiraJunior-yi9ky yeah, it is the most iconic part of the movie, but that’s what makes the reveal in the ride feel a bit rushed to me.
@@gamebeecolor I would agree with two more scenes like the Snuggling Duckling " I’ve got a dream " song scene and the village part when she was dancing but the ride is not the journey about the movie and it is specific about the lanterns part ! Maybe another park can make the journey ride one day !
スペースが足らなかったのかもしれないけど短すぎますね...
ランタンの所はめちゃくちゃ綺麗だけどそこで終わっちゃうから物足りない😂
なのに他のアトラクと同じくらいの時間、5分乗ってるってすごいマジック
TANGLED RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like the perfect attraction
Love this, they should have used this as the New Splash Mountain theme instead of Tiana
I like the Maximus..💙💙
Hey, thank you for the preview. It really is delightful. I do have a few comments. 1) I agree it does seem a bit short and in the last scene, seeing Rapunzel and Prince waving goodbye instead of the wall art would have been less anticlimactic, 2) How will those very advanced animatronics last in the weather and 3) I kind of wish the imagineers had not made her hair a glowing bundle in that one scene. There's something very uncanny about a glowing hair bundle.
Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival is the new ride seen at Fantasy Springs nearby Tokyo DisneySea where Rapunzel now speaks and sings in Japanese along with Flynn Rider.
The lantern scene is absolutely breathtaking (what I think many wished the “Kiss the Girl” scene looked like)! Still, it’s such a short attraction with only a handful of animatronics. I would have LOVED “I’ve Got a Dream” in the Snuggly Duckling, “Mother Knows Best” or ANY appearance by Mother Gothel. I just wish it had gotten a more fleshed out ride, like Frozen received (it quite literally got a full retelling of the story)…Tangled doesn’t get nearly enough love even though I find it a better film than Frozen.
……..and Disneyland gets a new churro flavor! 🤷🏼♂️🤔😂
