Today’s video is full of decluttering and organizing! I really thought I was just gonna organize some areas in my home, but I ended up decluttering as well. I had some areas that needed to be organized, and that is just what I did! I came up with some new home organizing and home storage ideas! The changes were simple, but they made a world of difference! Thanks so much for being here today and I hope this video gives you lots of motivation for decluttering and organizing!

Yay! 💖 I've been in the process of organizing and decluttering all closets and drawers in my house. I am like you, makes my heart happy. I loath my basement because it is unfinished and ugly. No pretty storage and not sure what I could do to make it more pleasing for the things it stores.
I see we have the same taste in audiobooks. 🙂

Hi Rita! Yes, you did spot the Bible on my corner desk! It is new! I have always been a King James kind of gal, but I saw this Bible, and I was so intrigued, because each chapter gives you a timeline! It is so interesting! It is an NIV life application study Bible from Amazon!

Hi! I love your storage area! I have a TON of halloween and Christmas stuff that are so big they have to sit on the floor. My storage area always looks like a mess and I can't get rid of my animations things. Good thing that door closes!😂

Hi! I love to organize too. For my storage space I have those same boxes & I wallpaper just the front of them & then the top in floral pattern, so it's pretty. You can do something like that & pretty labels for all totes. Happy organizing 😊

Hi DeDe, isn’t funny how things accumulate so fast when you have grandkids? I recently did a craft area purge bc I had things they aren’t interested in anymore so I gave them to the library. My local library has craft programs so I was glad to pass the items on. My storage area looks exactly the same. Too many holidays and getting in and out of the space has made it seem like a huge mess but as you said, it’s really just totes on the floor and not in their space and a couple miscellaneous items laying around. I agree 💯% about stuff on the floor! I just can’t do it. I can’t leave stuff on the floor or an unmade bed. Those 2 things drive me bonkers! Great video and a nice declutter!
Yes ma’am, you are right! Things are accumulating so fast! I have a feeling I will accumulate a lot of crafts items, and will be in the same position you were. I should check with our library about their different programs! I know my hometown library, which is nearby, has different programs during the week for children that are crafty! I really appreciate how you ask yourself why you do what you do sometimes. I feel this can be the key to helping us change behaviors and hopefully make better choices. Our homes are certainly a work in progress, just like we are. I think as we work on ourselves, we naturally want to work on our spaces. I hope you know how much of a positive difference your hard and thoughtful work and your videos make. You have a way of being honest and you bring a bit of humor, too, which I really appreciate. Hello Matt! It truly is great to hear from you this week! I absolutely love your comment about as we work on ourselves, we naturally want to work on our spaces! I agree with this so much. I think how we care for our home, and our surroundings are a reflection of how we feel about ourselves many times. My mother always told me when you appreciate things you take care of them. When we care for our home, we appreciate it. When we care for ourselves, mind, body and soul, we are appreciating our lives. Maybe I am over dramatizing it, but I just feel there is a correlation between our inner being, and our outer surroundings. I am a big believer in blooming where you are planted! As a crafter, I understand how fast my craft supplies can get out of hand. I try to clean up after each project or at the end of the day, but it is amazing how often I just lay something aside thinking I'll get to it in the morning!! As far as the storage room not being so glamorous, it certainly is attention getting once you go from cluttered to organized!! Thanks again for another great video!

I enjoy all your videos...and I have learned a lot from you. But the 2 main things are: 1) Sometimes what I think may work end up not BUT that's ok. Just being accepting of the fact that we can still accomplish the "goal" in another way is good enough. It's progress not perfection. 2) I now take "before" and "after" photos of spaces I've decluttered and/or organized so I can truly see and feel the fruits of my labor. You're truly an inspiration to me and others, so thank you friend! Btw, you're in my top 3 favorite channels on you tube...and I'm picky. Lol 😂❤

Good morning DeDe. Another great video. I know I’ve said this before, but I love your basement. I would never move out of Florida but I do wish we had basements here. Mine would look just like yours. I’d love to have an area to just go down and play with the kids and I think I would have a full function kitchen down there for holidays. Dreams, dreams dreams! lol. BUT, I’m very grateful for the home I have and worked so hard for. But a girl can dream. Anyway, I love going into a room to reorganize it and end up decluttering it. Win win!! I have a big storage closet in my garage . I purged a ton of stuff-mostly seasonal decorations. Then I put everything in clear bins & labeled them. I now have empty spaces and anyone can find what they need. I donated the opaque bins to the local thrift shop for them to use for sorting. I also love purging and organizing more than anything ❣️

I do a lot of decluttering, organizing, decorating, cleaning, tips and tricks, simple DIYs( and I do mean simple I’m not super crafty! 😆) Sometimes I’m able to do a my big tidy up on the go and I go and declutter and organize somebody else’s space! I love when organizing projects flood over into other areas of the house I've spent the last two weeks readying our guest room for family coming in for the eclipse. It feels so good having that room all put together for anyone who might stay the night with us. Long overdue! Of course, I went back and watched your video on guest room tidy up!
Hey there! Yes, I love the domino effect when you start one area and just keep moving into the next area! so you have people coming for the eclipse? My daughter is traveling to Arkansas to watch it! I don't have suggestions for making storage more aesthetically pleasing, but I would recommend that you move the cardboard banker boxes of paperwork to a shelf and get it off the ground and only keep totes on the floor. While I have not had an issue with flooding or broken water pipes, I have seen it happen to others far too often to risk it myself. Just something to think about. Also, perhaps consider switching to a digital version of audio books so you don't have to store physical copies. The bonus to that is multiple family members can be enjoying the book at the same time instead of having to take turns. If/when you do make the switch, consider donating the audio books to a nursing home. Lots of nursing home residents can no longer see well enough to read anymore and the audio books fill that void.
Hi Karen! 👋🏼 Sorry for the delayed response. Somehow I missed your message! 🤷🏻♀️ Thank you so much for the reminder about the banker boxes on the floor! The files inside those boxes are my husbands and we used to just have a couple of boxes and we now have six! I used to have them on the shelves and then as we needed more I put them on the floor not even thinking about the potential for flooding! I definitely need to address that and come up with a better solution!

@@MyBigTidyUp We all get blind to our own stuff in ways like that and I figured you probably just didn't realize you were storing paper on the floor, or were super confident that this room would never have a water issue. I wish I had someone who would walk through my house and question some of my decisions! LOL We used to keep a container of dog food in a place that guests would mistake it for the garbage can. It wasn't until finally someone said, ya know... you should either change the container or put it somewhere else if you don't want people throwing garbage in your dog food! Somehow I hadn't put that together myself 🤦♀

I think it's such a good idea to " Re- asses " when it comes to Storage Containers / Products and things d o change as far as " outgrowing " certain solutions . You are so good at that, and recognizing it !! 😊
Its so neat how you have all those things for The Littles, to enjoy at Mee maws.
When I would go through the Games,.. I would post them fir Free ,so single Moms ( and Dads) could get a few because not everyone can afford to buy Family Games/ Games for children, so I wanted to give those to those less fortunate than myself..( or, for the Library ,to give away for Free, as well.)
I was chuckling, about the divuders, ..but I like the Containers you used, because I think having them in clear Containers looks great. I rarely get rid of Books, lol....unless I really don't want to keep a particular Book. But you have a nice selection of Books..
Oh, I agree ..with the Clutter on the floor! Lol. You cracked me up when you were describing your Storage Room....! I think having it " functional " is important, and it need not be looking like a " Pintrest Post "...lol. Personally..... I became tired of all that ..on Pintrest. ... it was like an obsession.with people and the Picture Perfect Posts of Organization..." ... it just seemed so " overdone ", lol..( , and I rarely go to Pintrest for anything, other than Inspiration for Party Ideas ... Weddings/ Birthday/ etc ).

Sonetimes " getting Organized " shows things that we can go through and " pass along ", so someone else can use it/ enjoy it , etc .

I actually am going to talk about it in the future video. Although I think Pinterest is so great for sharing ideas and inspiring people, it also can be very detrimental and create standards that are hard or impossible to live up to. Yes. " Pintrest " . ...it started out " okay " ...but it no longer interests me due to where it has gone....like many things that are Beneficial in the beginning....then it becomes " something else " ( morphs into something else ) ...that's just my personal perspective on it.
And yes... you worded that perfectly. .. the standards are unattainable, and detrimental,...Making people feel " less than " or that they are inadequate. It can be very detrimental. ...which is why I deleted the App, ( 4 or 5 years ago,) and I rarely use Pintrest. I think it's a great thing to address it on your Channel !
