James Grage - The Muscle Geek love your videos, but could u give me some info, I have a very physical job and I almost feel I just don't have the energy anymore for these workouts
James Grage - The Muscle Geek hi brother do you mind letting me know how can I buy one of those 3/4 sleeve T, the Grey color one which you wear on one of your video, btw I'm from Singapore.
Really good stuff James! I use to workout back in the 80's and 90's and I'm getting back in again at age 50. Things are way different but in a very good way. I wish I new this info back then it sure would have been beneficial. Thanks for the tips and science behind sculpting a body to look and feel great. Keep up the good work.
hi my name is Jerry am a Turn 60 in October. and I like the way that you explained how to get results on one's muscles. like you said it once there's a lot of people with lots of opinions on how to do exercise I seen a lot of people on RUclips like you say thay do wrong exercises but seen I been see you I have improved a lot the thing is the others thay like to talk a lot and less explanation to do. you explain more and how to do it. thank you very much and I'll keep on washing what's your doing keep up the good work.
James, thanks for all the videos. I'm 41 and got into fitness 7 years ago and you were actually one of the first people I followed. It's nice to follow someone who actually is knowledgeable instead of a lot of the so called fitness gurus clogging up the internet. So, thanks again. Please keep them coming and continue success. I love BPI products btw.
I learnt about mind muscle connection from you. It was from your dumbbell row video and ever since then I haven't given a shit about the number of pounds I'm lifting. You changed my attitude to building muscle and things are going better than ever. No more cheat pullups wondering one month later why my biceps are burnt out and why my back isn't any stronger. Don't be insecure about the size of your lift. Not only is it immaterial, but even if it werent, no body can tell outside the gym.
Glad my wife found you and told me about you. I'm 64 and getting back into body building and learning to do it right, do it smart, so that I don't injure myself. Your explanation of how the muscles work with Mr. Bones is very helpful. Can't wait to watch the next video.
i just want to thank you for you simple demonstration the best thing in this game is that it never ends you always learn new things no matter how long you've been training i'll be waiting for your next video GOD bless you and your family champ
I don't know how I came across your videos, but thank GOD I found them, I have seen many vloggers talks about muscle workouts and I can say you are the best so far, very detailed explanation that for me at least changes many things. The way you present is as amazing as the information, really James a big thumbs up. I wish to see a million subscriber to your channel you really deserve it.
James, you are such a pro, you de-complex everything we suppose to know. know better, work better, maximum result, most of all, doing it safely. thank you!
Dude, you are so articulate and knowledgeable that I have no doubt whatsoever that your little guys will soon grow up to be something incredible and necessary! Wish I discovered you sooner but better late than........... Best to you n Fam~ Carlos n Family
im new to the training life, being overweight my whole life it was time to change that. I really appreciate that you not only show different techniques but explain why you are doing them. I have adopted your shoulder, chest and lat routines so far and man they are killer. Thanks for sharing your knowledge
these videos are not only interesting, but totally informative, everytime I follow one of your tips I make gains and am better able to understand how best to work my muscles, thank you and keep up the great work.
Thanx James, I'm older and just started working out trying to get bigger as much as I like studying how to get bigger, and ur vids are really getting me excited about learning as much as I can, Thanx bud
James, thank you for taking the time to train us online! However, a lot of people have HOME gyms (with free weights) and NOT gym memberships (with cables, machines, etc). Could you please do a video or two demonstrating how to do machine/cable workouts (lat pulldowns, etc) with free weights? I think that would be helpful; I know it would be for me! Thanks in advance.
Awesome information, I like that you go in some detail for us less gym savvy individuals. I've done your delts workout suggestions and biceps and got the best pump ive gotten in a long time
First vid I've seen of yours mate and I have to say I liked it. Like a previous poster has said it's like a shorter (slightly quieter) version of Athlean x. Shorter is great and quieter is great as there a few tubers out there who seem to love shouting at us. Great stuff James, subbed. Also most importantly great info. This is a really easy to follow video on Tricep anatomy and exercise in 8 minutes.
Videos are great James, the added "geek" element is informative because it helps in the understanding of muscle construction and how to properly target specific areas. Like breaking it down to build it up. Keep it up. Much appreciated 💪
Thank you for being a gem in the RUclips fitness. Please keep it up and make more videos. I want to be a muscle geek too! Teach us; we will hunger, learn, and grow. Once again, thank you.
Not gonna lie mate. Just come across your video's recently and they're brilliant. I've been lifting a while, but your pretty deep knowledge just flows/looks effortless. Cheers for the info from the UK!
Now this is actual science! I used to do the stupid inclined tricep extension with a lot of weight for ego, i felt that the movement wasn't right, my head was in the way and i didn't feel it much on my triceps. I used to do skull crushers laying on a bench, and my triceps were bigger before i stopped for a couple of years. I have to start over now, but with the help of the knowledge of this channel... Man, it'll be much quicker!
Amazingly well explained... Really nice to see what to do but most important WHY to do ! looking foward to see more instructive videos and more workout ! 💪
man you are so spot on with the information. seriously No BS and some really good tips. You have this great ability of making so much sense while youre talking. like im thinking oh i hope he addresses this issue and you address it without even me having to ask the question. I am from Pakistan and I have been following you for a long time. Youre great brother. Please do not stop uploading videos, youre like a mentor to me. Pls say hi to people in pakistan too, because you have some big fans in this part of the world..We all love your videos man. God bless you.
I stopped doing overhead tricep extensions to target the long head due to one simple demonstration. If you hold you arm overhead with no weight and flex the tricep, I find the tricep doesn't contract very well. However if I have shoulder extension and flex like in a side tricep pose both the long and lateral heads can deeply contract. I would still include overhead work but as a finisher to stretch the tricep.
Love the geeky part of the explanations, knowing why we do each exercise has given me a way to mix my routines a lot better. I've tried it with the rear and side delts, made a few modifications since i dont have some of the equipment that you got, and I am finally starting to feel my shoulders working. Can't wait on a calves video.Great Job Dude.
Man, James! This is some of the best content and information I've seen on the Internet! I consider myself a bit of a muscle geek but you're schooling me. The simplified explanation you gave on biceps and now on triceps helps me to train and share this information a whole lot easier! Please keep more of this great information coming.
Great, that was very informative. It was never clear to me how the 3 heads operated and how to best exercise them. I will bear this advice in mind for future workouts. Thanks.
james grage atlast after reading viewing and asking people for more than 2 months, now i know how to target each head thankyou so much, subscribed, shared, and liked and i will definitely make my gym buddies subscribe your channel
Good.stuff bro-love the science of it all. Also, love seeing all the haters who obviously resent your physique because you got a little help. It has nothing to do with what you're teacing.
I don't like benches and pushups. Looking forward to the push downs. And getting strong enough to do pushups and benches. Want to nail my forearms. I am 67 and haven't done any serious iron since my mid 30s. Excited.
Another great video! Please keep adding different tips and tricks on how to work out a specific muscle. This makes the videos even more useful. By the way, is there another exercise to target the lateral head besides the rope extension? Keep these videos coming brother!
Really interesting and informative. I had no idea about the training differences. Also in a number of your videos use your thumbs as an orientation tool. That's super helpful. I'm a bit of a noob.
Beautifully explained viz muscle insertions and like others have said, no need to apologise for a 'longer' video that's actually really succinct and effective. Nice one dropping the long and short joke too haha.
I would love for you to do a video on static contraction. These workouts that you have been uploading have been very helpful and inspiring. Static contraction would be a good muscle confusion workout once your body gets used to these options you have given.
I would thank you forever for these owesome tips.. I was going to the gym doing exercises without knowing which exercise targeting which. Thank you thank you thank you
I needed this info and the previous video on bicep as one side may be help the other if like me you are not getting results. I find it hard to get a contraction in my tris, but really don't feel burn in biceps . This video helps understand where to put the mind to contract.
Maybe could you provide some insight into your personal training or routines for the body parts you talk about? Hypertrophy vs. strength training, free weights/resistance bands, drop sets/super sets. People's bodies react differently to different forms of training. Recently, I've found my body responds well to light amounts of strength training combined with intensive hypertrophy, especially with resistance bands for contraction in the final quarter of exercises. I'm curious what works for you. Love your channel, keep it up💪🏻
Whether you took a break or not your videos are always epic James!!!! Only suggest using a wireless mic 🎤 to eliminate the echo etc but just knitpicking. All i got lol
Thank you so much for all the information you are freely giving out. This has really upped my game and shown me what needs refining so don't worry about being nerdy as it's helpful to know WHY these reps/sets/exercises are important for each muscle group - I'm loving the vids 👍🏻💪🏻
I lost alot of my muscle mass due to liver transplant, I just starting to get in working out with the rubber bands, I watch your videos to help with that.
I started watching your fitness youtube channel only yesterday. I worked out my shoulders right after watching and I felt like I never exersiced before lol! I did notice different impact only from yesterday!. so excited to watch more ..would be great if you can advise how to incorporate cardio with those exercises? thank you!
Rusty?? Wow, dude, you're probably one of the best. Your instructions and tips are easy to understand and straight to the point, no BSs or whatsoever.
Awesome. Thank you very much for the great feedback.
why do i even need a nobody to like me? do i even care? you got so much time to waste, why don't you go kiss your own then...
James Grage - The Muscle Geek nice!

Really good stuff James! I use to workout back in the 80's and 90's and I'm getting back in again at age 50. Things are way different but in a very good way. I've been watching videos for years and this by far is the best one yet due to the explanation and visual. 👏 👏 👏

His ability to condense high level concepts into a format that is easily and readily digestible is a gift from God. Salute.
Glad my wife found you and told me about you. I'm 64 and getting back into body building and learning to do it right, do it smart, so that I don't injure myself. Your explanation of how the muscles work with Mr. Bones is very helpful. Can't wait to watch the next video.
James, your detailed information makes it easy for non-technical brutes like me to understand the process. Consider yourself subbed.
