In this video I showcase my wireframe model for the dashboard of my new React Native project where I am building HealthMode, and explain how it is a much better feel and I should've been doing this from the start.
I don't regret my time with NextJS on web because all the typescript logic should be the same and all the Supabase functions and data is the same, it's just the means of displaying it and interacting with the app.
This journey hsould be fun!
HealthMode: Fitness for Free, as you may have noticed from the name, is a 100% free fitness app 📱 with no premium subscriptions 💸.

This is a psuedo-follow up to yesterday's video: ruclips.net/video/HFKhORSbO2o/видео.html where I spoke about my issues with NextJS and why I should've been doing React Native / Expo from the start. I decided to put my money where my mouth is and actually start doing Native so here we are.
Hopefully some actual postive energy this time instead of complaining haha.
I'm excited to port everything over and am confident in my ability to do so.
Thanks for watching!
For react native do you write it once and it works for the native device it’s on? Android, iOS, web, desktop, etc. or do you need to write it a different timr for each platform?
You write it once and it can be built to any device
@@TiernanDeFrancodoes it automatically adjust responsiveness too for different device sizes? React native also can be turned into a website right?
Do you need a MacBook in order to develop for iPhone? And test your app locally?
You can use the expo to app to build to iOS with like a remote server (you can do it from windows) it’s cool. But I’m pretty sure if you don’t want to pay for Expo’s cloud service you do need one
@@TiernanDeFrancoare you using a MacBook?
@@zojirushi1 I have one but I record and code on my PC and will probably just use it for building iOS
Which is better React.js or React Native?
Different use cases
If I was specifically making something only for web id probably choose NextJs over vanilla react. But I’m loving React Native after working with it for like a day
Are you using gpt4 or gpt3?
I made a custom GPT that basically explains what I’m trying to do so I don’t have to do that everytime
@@TiernanDeFrancoyou do pay monthly to have the feature tho right.
@@zojirushi1 yeah but It’s on my business credit card and i get to write it off so less taxable income baby!
@@TiernanDeFrancocan you explain how you set your custom gpt up? Was it just basically giving it context. Like saying you want to make an app like my fitness pal. But better and free? And you provide the wireframes/designs to it?
@@zojirushi1 yes I said “I am making an app that is an alternative to MyFitnessPal but 100% free called HealthMode, I am using React Native with Expo and need you to be able to convert JSX to Native components
Hi dear, Nice video. Are you looking for a thumbnail designer who creates eye-catching Thumbnails, and also can optimize thumbnails for search engine optimization (SEO) and RUclips's algorithm by including relevant keywords and phrases that will help you get higher CTR and reach more audiences?
