My favorite coaster ride ever was on Mystic during a surprise summer rain. Those rains that just appear out of nowhere and dump monsoon levels of water just for a few minutes. Well, pulling out of the station, those monsoon rains started to dump. And if you think Mystic is chaotic, wait till you go through it with rain as thick as new England fog. I was completely disoriented. Even with glasses, I had to try and block the rain from my face. My vision completely blurred as rain needles prick over my body. Being so disoriented, I couldn't brace my body for anything, so I was rag doll tossed back and forth like a human windshield wiper over ever moment of ejector. At one point the KI railroad train just appeared in my view before being lost with another flix of my body. This ride was painful, but GLORIOUS!
Sounds amazing, I got a rain night ride on Goliath at great America and felt similar, but mystic Timbers is one of my top bucket list coasters, hope I can ride it this year
I’m glad you enjoyed the coasters at my home park. With mystic ironically enough it runs best during winter fest. I can’t tell you why for whatever reason it runs faster during that time and it’s insane
Mystic is a glorious coaster- elegant and intense, like a kinetic sculpture. I admittedly love GCI’s work overall, but this one feels especially influenced by the work of Traver and Church, and that makes me ridiculously happy.
Personally I think Mystic Timbers is a bit overrated and there are quite a few better GCIs out there. For me Prowler felt better paced and much more out of control. Hopefully Mystic will run a bit better when I get back to Kings Island later this year.
Favorite ride at kings island!

Best GCI
Rode this today. I got the snake.
Cant wait to go this year the wife and I are doing the trip . Thanks for the great review as always you are on yop of your game
It would be interesting if you had an opinion on a nighttime ride. I hear it's right up there with The Beast, in it's own way.
I had one actually! It was better, but not as big a jump as The Beast. Beast is two different rides entirely.
Great review! This is a very fun coaster!
I want to ride that coaster

I think they made mistake timbers so short coz it will not be that expensive to RMC it in a few years. It's getting to be a bad coaster now...
I don't think its super rough yet
