I honestly couldn’t hold back tears in this scene. All of Senua’s pain, all this time, her journey, it all led up to this moment. And then... my computer fucking crashed.
Dang thats honestly depressing. I cherish moments like these in games as i know there is only one "first time" for experiencing something and for it to be ruined by a crash, well, its just sad...
I really couldn't handle the ending... I was so down to fight with senua to the very end. I held my own against these hoards of enemies for so, so long, because I knew hela was so close and I really wanted to get her. for senua's sake. So she could save dillian. I was screaming when I died after probably about 15 minutes of pure teeth-grinding combat... only to realize that I was supposed to lose and let go. Seriously this game was something else.
A *lot* of people seemed very stubborn--so much so that the repeated "Let go of your battle... You don't have to fight anymore..." whispers went pretty much ignored.
@@mb2001 well to be fair, the voices do wisper throughout the entire game... and they also wisper that I should not open a certain door or go a certain way. So I wasn't gonna start listening to them in the very end of the game

They were what brought me to tears even before the start of the end scene, because even if I knew they were right and I had to let go, I couldn't bring myself to let Senua down, because having her let go off Dillion really striked a string inside me. But I was kinda surprised nobody else (from what I saw in the many playthrough I watched afterwards) was striked that hard by those actually sweet and reassuring voices.
When I arrived at Helheim and saw Hela in the distance I was ready to go to war. Then the thumping beat set in, with the piano just a little offbeat. I had goosebumps all over my body. And even though I controlled Senua. I still cheered for her, and told her to get up, because the scenery, the music, everything just pulled me in. After around 20 Minutes of fighting against the never ending hordes of enemies, I died. I screamed because I thought I lost. But what happened then was so much emotional again that I didn't even wanted to close my eyes to not miss anything. This was the best I ever had in all of the games.
I totally understand what you mean.. to me it was like I was become one with Senua during the whole game.. I'd never felt this close to a game character before.. it was like I was in the battle not Senua and it wasn't only a game.. It was me against my own thoughts, my own darkness and my own pains..

I played tons of games. I played games everyone considers masterpieces, I played games that made others cry like there's no tomorrow. Yes, I played rdr2 and yes, I did cry to that too. But there was such rawness and beauty to this game, it's like passion radiates from it everywhere you look. There's no game that made me feel as emotionally challenged at this one. The love I hold for Senua, the fear I felt during Odin's trials, the way my hands kept shaking at the last fight and I held my ground for minutes at a time. Everything this game made me experience.. it was special. I'll keep playing games, as I always do, but there's a certain sadness that comes with knowing I'll never play anything as good as this game (well, maybe hellblade 2), knowing probably no game will be able to make me feel as strongly as this one did.
i agree this is what makes me want to learn game development. These kind of games where the passion just radiates from the game itself. Even if hellblade 2 doesnt turn out to be that good, this game will forever have a place in my heart

I have finished this game today and I'm so thrilled about how good game is, great atmosphere good story and a great actors, I have finished it before 6 hours and I'm still having goosebumps from the final boss!!

The most epic climax of the game and, personally, of all my old gamer experience...i never fight a so desperate and epic battle like Senua's epilogue. The Melina's ( the Senua's actress) screams, the pianos dramatic accords, the bosses...all perfect.. Thanks for the upload..
Tbh, couple of minutes, I would say seconds in the game I started feeling that I'm walking right beside senua till the end of the story. Felt every last emotion the game has to offer. I was even angry at and scared from hela at the same time in the end. While fighting those enemies, I was clicking my mouse ferociously as if I was holding that sword of hers. Such an incredible journey that I doubt I'll ever live again. I hope I'm mistaken tho.

This is bar none one of the top 5 endings to a game I've ever played... well, that's what I'd say if this were a game. It isn't. It's a haunting, emotionally testing, beautiful journey. What do you say about an experience like this? I know I can't help her save Dillion. I know she must let go eventually. But she's come so far, and I wanted desperately for something to have mattered from all this. All because of how hard she's had it... and because she deserves so much more... You can cut down shadows till the sun sets, and truth be told, I conquered many before I succumbed to them. But you will be destroyed before Dillion ever comes back. You've denied that Dillion cannot be restored, you've bargained with Hell itself to make that happen, lashed out in anger against your demons, broke down in depression when you thought you stood no chance, and at last accepted that Dillion is at peace and should rest at last. In other words, this has all been naught but the five stages of despair.
I just finished this game for the second time yesterday. Its truly a phenomenal masterpiece. Apart from the fact that i was in tears through the end sequence, i noticed something. After fighting for almost 30 minutes in the unwinnable fight, Senuas voice (HER voice, not one of her voices) can be heard saying "Let go of Dillion. Let go of your battle". Its the only time that you hear her voice when she's not speaking i think, and it's an insane experience. I just gave up after that; what else is there to do, other than letting go,
One of the most unique and meaningful gaming moments I’ve ever experienced. This game goes in my top 5 just for the emotion it teased out. Incredible writing.

So, I play a lot of games. I've played plenty of games with great stories. And I've played plenty of games that made me feel something. But never have I felt so connected to a character as I did when I was in this last boss fight. It was such a tense moment. I remember yelling at my TV as the waves of Northmen just kept coming and coming. I don't think I've ever been so frustrated - but in the best way possible. I wanted to reach Hela, I wanted to save Dillian, I wanted Senua to realize that none of this was her fault. And when I finally died I was so upset that I'd failed, I was on the verge of tears... Only to be rewarded for all my efforts with that absolutely beautiful final sequence. Truly a masterpiece.
I died in the final battle while trying my best, without realizing I had to die. I think that contributed to the power of the moment. If I had made Senua give in, because I knew I had to die to "finish the game", that would have broken immersion and the ending just wouldn't have been the same.
I really wish I'd played this game sooner an absolute masterpiece, this moment of the game really gave the best vibe for the ending of a game, I really enjoyed myself on the journey this game took me on.
It was so sad you been with her at the beginning learned about her story so much so that you felt a need to see it through you wanted to save Dillion and when the time came you fought for so long for harder then you ever did in the game in the final fight and I couldn’t accept when the voices kept saying that Iv fought long enough that I need to let go to let go of Dillion when Iv come so far.... truly and amazing experience

Before playing it I watched the ending of it just to ease the tension that always gets me when I need to play a new game. Watching was good. Once played it and completed...it was different. I didn't cry, but this game left a void in my soul and heart that barely any other games can do to me. I was sitting on my couch, in silence. Then I clapped for 5 minutes straight.

Lawrence Paculan 10:58 essentially. I looked up the version you spoke of and while it ends at the end of the battle, my version includes the outtro music that plays afterward. Not a big thing, but it's the reason I made this version because I prefer it included.
there's actually a huge difference. The percussion is more intense, the tempo is quicker, it has the violins and other string instruments that aren't present in the original. Basically, it's a remix.

I played this in the final Olgierd Von Everec boss-fight in the painting level of the Hearts of Stone DLC in Witcher 3 and damn it fit like charm.

I died in the final battle while trying my best, without realizing I had to die. I think that contributed to the power of the moment. If I had made Senua give in, because I knew I had to die to "finish the game", that would have broken immersion and the ending just wouldn't have been the same.

Lawrence Paculan 10:58 essentially. I looked up the version you spoke of and while it ends at the end of the battle, my version includes the outtro music that plays afterward.
Not a big thing, but it's the reason I made this version because I prefer it included.
there's actually a huge difference. The percussion is more intense, the tempo is quicker, it has the violins and other string instruments that aren't present in the original. Basically, it's a remix.
