- This is my reaction - review to the band LIVE - song Lightning Crashes which I recently just discovered and absolutely love this sound and mood - assume that most of the viewers probably know that song - but I've never recieved any suggestions to that band at all - so maybe I will just remind you about them)
Lyrics
Lightning crashes, a new mother cries
Her placenta falls to the floor
The angel opens her eyes
The confusion sets in
Before the doctor can even close the door
Lightning crashes, an old mother dies
Her intentions fall to the floor
The angel closes her eyes
The confusion that was hers
Belongs now, to the baby down the hall
Oh now feel it comin' back again
Like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind
Forces pullin' from the center of the earth again
I can feel it
Lightning crashes, a new mother cries
This moment she's been waiting for
The angel opens her eyes
Pale blue colored iris, presents the circle
And puts the glory out to hide, hide
Oh now feel it comin' back again
Like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind
Forces pullin' from the center of the earth again
I can feel it
I can feel it
I can feel it comin' back again
Like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind
Forces pullin' from the center of the earth again
I can feel it
I can feel it comin' back again
Like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind
Forces pullin' from the center of the earth again
I can feel it
I can feel it comin' back again
Like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind
Forces pullin' from the center of the earth again
I can feel it

This whole album is sooo good. Iris is a song to listen to. I saw them Live at a musical festival in 1997 and they were beyond fantastic live
This album was a massive hit in the 90s. I reccomend "I Alone" or "Selling The Drama" for other hits from this same album. Great reaction!
Thank you, I’m right now listening and added to playlist 😘
@@IYOU Their album before this, Mental Jewelry is also VERY good! And if you like Live may I suggest Toad The Wet Sprocket. Start with "I Will Not Take These Things for Granted"
@@toriboy25 amazing band.. my favourite album is COIL. but you can find hidden gems in every album..
White Discussion is actually bbetter now.
Its a amazing album and i still listen to it
Its a classic 90's Album
I remember there was a lot of controversy when the single was released. Radio stations were forced to censor the beginning of the song to remove the word "placenta". It was ridiculous.
Throwing Copper is one of the best albums that came out during the 90’s. Every song is amazing, especially Pillar of Davidson. The vocals are insanely good. Top is another.
This song was dedicated to Barbara Lewis that was killed by a drunk
driver. She was a organ donor and saved the life of a 10 month old baby
that received her liver. She was 19. The song 'Lightning Crashes' was wrote on an acoustic guitar in my brother's bedroom shortly before I had moved out of my parents' house and gotten my first place of my own.The video for "Lightning Crashes" lends itself to many misinterpretations of the song's intent. "While the clip is shot in a home environment, I envisioned it taking place in a hospital, where all these simultaneous deaths and births are going on, one family mourning the loss of a woman while a screaming baby emerges from a young mother in another room. Nobody's dying in the act of childbirth, as some viewers think. What you're seeing is actually a happy ending based on a kind of transference of life. The dedication to Barbara Lewis came after the song was written. But it was something that we hoped would honor the memory of a girl we grew up with and help her family cope with sorrow -- which it seems to have accomplished -- in a fashion in keeping with the theme of the song.
Thank you for your comment 🧡 This song has a spirit, such a beautiful piece of art which I love since I heard it first .. The meaning of it deep and touching, I myself cried already many times, but what touch me the most is performance, is voice from that calm almost whisper to emotional almost scream - goosebumps; when you wanna just walk in a rain on the road and nothing matter, just keep moving and for some reason enjoy 🧡
What a wonderful surprise for Iuliia to have Ed stop by her channel. I know of other artists that are visitors here and I hope they all feel free to join in. Taylor Momsen I'm talking to you.😘
I did not know the dedication to Barbara Lewis came after Lightning Crashes was written. Such a beautiful way to honor the life of a friend that was lost way too soon. The song is absolutely brilliant, and genius songwriting.
Ed is criminally underrated as a songwriter. I enjoy both his solo albums. I love the 'Alive' album. The album was certainly a success, but interesting that it didn't do even better. Acknowledgement of faith sometimes gives a album the "christian album" label, which some see and steer away from unfortunately.
The Live song Run Away also is one that is close to me. The version with Shelby Lynne is so great! I'd love to know how it came about that Shelby was featured on the song for the 'Awake' best of Live album.
Mr. Kowalczyk, what beautiful song. I was told by my mother years ago if you count your blessings not your sufferings, you will see that the Lord has put many blessings into your life but people just want to lament on their sufferings.
I was a 90s teen and rocked out to this back in the day. Love how you get into this song as it was one of my favorites, rock music back then was an expression of emotion.
I love this song, thank you so much for reacting to it!
💋 I’m glad - that was my intention
🤠 One of the greatest songs, albums, bands of the 90's! Their CD "Throwing Copper" and Alanis' "Jagged Little Pill" dominated my CD player! ♥
Well said, I miss that time that it’s CD or tape and you explore it whole with deep attention , not like now - when new generation is lost appreciation because everything is available for free unlimited within a sec..
@@IYOU 🤠 I totally agree. I started with albums, then 8-track tapes, then cassettes, and finally CD's. I still have hundreds of each. You listened to the ENTIRE recording! 👍♥
@@IYOU 🤠 Back then we had "concept albums." Each song tied into another, like Pink Floyd's "Animals" and Willie Nelson's "Red Headed Stranger." Those were the days! 👍♥
Well, at least now we have a choice and still can choose to listen whole album, it’s just very sad overall what is happened with music industry and how low quality of music now with high quality of soft and hard ware etc
💜
@@IYOU 🤠 So true. In the 70's and 80's we had "album rock" stations on FM radio that would play an entire album side, or BOTH sides, with no breaks or commercials! 😂♥
Thank you for the very thoughtful reaction. Throwing Copper is a brilliant album and the song Lightning Crashes deeply touched me when it was released in the 1990s. It is still my favorite song - as I have become older the circle of life has become more salient.
I may be just a tad late lol but this was one of the best reactions I've seen to this song. Great Job!!
Thank you for reacting to this one. This is one one my favorites. Goes right to soul. You explained it perfectly.👍
This was a beautiful reaction and review. Thank you 😊 💓
I loved them in the 90s growing up listening to them on the radio simple times
Oh, yes! I love this song! The angel opens her eyes!
I bought the album as soon as I heard this song back in the 90's! Great song and album!
It took you that long to buy the album? :P I kid LOL
Such a bittersweet song.
That is really really cool that you chose that song on your own! When I was a kid this was probably the second or third album I bought on my own. My oldest daughter was being born around this time and it scared the shit out of me….
Live wrote this song about Barb Lewis who was a childhood friend of theirs that was killed by a drunk driver.
Great reaction! Powerful song that should be played very loud!✌❤
You are like alive encyclopedia, know everything) I’m exploring whole album now, so good, but I never even heard the bands name like ever🧡🧡🧡💋
A encyclopedia who doesn't use commas properly. I always skipped class in school to go create and play music. Music saved my life. So I guess my comma usage problems are ok.😋
No, it’s actually unacceptable and rude, but I personally tolerate to this only because you created team Iuliia/yulia/you/yu/)))
I wasn’t a good student ether ) omg, it means that we are such a rule breakers, thanks only for that seRRRious contract😘
Ok, Official name is now TEAM YOU!
I like IULIIA, but I can see nobody gonna know how to say....Such dummies.
TEAM YOU! will market better. We may have to copyright it so nobody try to steal.😳😏
@@Michael----- why not GIULIA? Italian spelling is so sweet..GIULIA ...dont 'you like if Giulia agrees? GIULIA TEAM 🏆🎖
Growing up, I think this was my first ever "favorite song" ("Black Balloon" by Goo Goo Dolls was another that just sorta hit me in the feels as a kid)
lol looks like you've already reacted to Black Balloon... if I see "One" by U2 on your channel then that'll be a hat trick ;p
I had never heard this song before, I love it though. Thanks so much to you
Awesome song!! Definitely a great choice! 🔥👍🔥
Obviously i didint know the song but makes me move , so emotional in a kind of Bryan Adams style and then the fact, the meaning and the concept and images running behind you clearly moves holding tears.
Music and voice is very touching and opened sound i like very much , you are discovering very rare pieces of past unknown or underrated
My conception about loss of loved ones i cant really conceive they passed alway even if im not religious but i just feel like they are gone in another distance place far away and someday we'll meet again.
Great reaction Yulia is very touching and good when you feel deep inside a song and lyrics, are the most chilling impressing reaction, as when you cried for Stairway to Heaven reaction 💗
This song is on most of the mixed music stations here in Boston everyday. The whole disc is good 🤘
Your reactions are even more beautiful than your face. I love the way you get deep into a song, and just roll around in it. Keep them coming.
Fantastic
Yes song by (live), the 90's music I like.🔥🔥🔥🔥⚡⚡⚡
I couldn't agree with you more Yulia everything you said about life/death was spiritual.Another great music review from my favorite YT channel.Have a great weekend! ☮ 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 👍
Thank you, and my weekend will begin sooooon in a trip to NYC, can you imagine , Isn’t is wow?) I’ve seen it in a movie only and it’s like something magical, I’m gonna be crazy exited one on the streets)) hope your weekend gonna be great too🧡
@@IYOU oh wow that sounds fun. You're are becoming quite the tra traveler. Just kidding. Hope you have special times in Times Square and Central Park etc... Stay safe with your family(Sophee and husband) and enjoy time with yor mother.Just as Sophee is your precious child so are you to her. Happy for you!🌝
Awesome Song. Haven't heard in years👏👏👏
They are from my hometown, York PA 🙂
This song is a masterpiece, it's about the cycle of life and death, beautifully performed by not only the singer but the band as well
One off my favourite songs of all time love from Scotland 🏴
🧡🧡🧡
You are awesome
Love your channel
Never Heard of Them. Just watched the Official Video and Cried, so Right Not I'm Left with Mixed Emotions. I did like the song though : )
Oh noooo, I watched it and thought how wrong I was upload it in the morning, morning is already tough time) I owe you something funny I guess😂
@@IYOU You owe me nothing, I look forward to whatever's coming next : )
I liked live when they came out, They were very diff. Between most bands, musically and lyrically. I’m glad you stumbled upon it. Good and memorable somg
Song
bIRTH AND rEBIRTH, iTS sooo GOOD, MY FAVE SONG!
This song is just utterly primal.
🌹
I always thought this song was about a woman giving birth and dying right after leaving her baby behind. Very powerful song, I remember buying the album when it came out.
I honestly don't recall hearing this one before, which is rare for me as I've been a huge music fan for many years now. The 90s are my favorite era of music I've lived through by far and it's kind of wild to me I somehow missed this band. I was too young to realize what was going on musically in the 70s and I've always found 80s music to be overrated.
It's always awesome to watch you react to songs that touch you on an emotional level. This one has a Pearl Jam kind of feel in my opinion. I'll definitely have to check out more from them.
I’m so happy that I showed you a song which is new for you. I listened an album yesterday - nice music, plus many people mentioned that it was wow albuM back in 90s 🧡🧡🧡
@@IYOU I'm happy you did too😁! I almost never get to find put about an older band I like but have never heard of before.
Y'know, it's almost cliche when people talk about how quickly they click a link after seeing the title and/or thumbnail. Well, cliche confirmed. Saw this and immediately clicked...everything else was going to take a backseat for the next ten minutes or so.
I'm a huge fan of Live. First discovered them way back in 1992. Saw the video for the song "Pain Lies on the Riverside" and I just KNEW that I was going to be a fan for the long run. And, when I discovered that they were touring, I had to see them in person. They did not let me down. I saw them again a couple of years later...but, I haven't seem them in person since the mid-90's. I definitely want/need to see them again...and soon.
That all having been said, "Pain Lies on the Riverside" might be an interesting song/video to react to.
Random observation: I don't know if it's the case for others...but it feels like every song that introduces me to a band, that song ends up being my favorite song by that band.
Wow, how cool, I didn’t expect that you love thank so much!
Ok I’m gonna check it out while my relaxed breakfast) and it’s not weird - first sound always special - like my High Hopes (by Pink Floyd)💜
Well. I listened - no wonder that it’s your favorite- it’s mamaaaaa awesome, that fast rhythm with nostalgia mode, and his voice, and interesting bass line, I already added 5 songs into my general playlist 🌍
@@IYOU I think that this video and your comments highlight why I'm here...it's the musical journey. Discovering new artists/songs. Seeing where the journey takes you. And if there's something interesting to add, I'll try and add it. Otherwise, I'm content to sit back and enjoy the journey and see what it takes you...and me.
I alone was my favorite this one was good too
This song was my 14-22
The only song I know with the word plencta in it
It's rare that I hear people talk about reincarnation after hearing this song, but I agree. I don't believe in god or spirits but I think we are all of the same stuff and it's all connected on a deep level. The stuff we are takes many forms, and we are but one of the forms it takes.
This is a really interesting song!
Please, react to Devil's dance by Metallica, it's a great song
This is off the album throwing copper and that whole album is very good listen to the rest of it whether on the channel or not
I’ve listened all their albums and
The Distance to here has more songs which I liked, but everyone talking only about Throwing copper.
@@IYOU everyone has different taste in music, it's probably just because this album wasn't earlier album of theirs and was closer to the original sound people are hardcore fans sometimes. Glad you explored it though.
@@IYOU I really think you would like third eye blind their self-titled album third eye blind is really good all the way through You should listen to it whether it's on the channel or not
