Lived in Minneapolis for two years and Fargo, ND for 30 years. I've lived in KC metro for 6 months. I've seen / been passively exposed to more crime in 6 months then I did in 34 years between living in MN/ND. Quirky weird, fun place and great culture... but damn the crime is wild and really spread out between suburbs.

What kind of crime are we talking about; purse snatching, chainsaw killing or something in the middle?
@@lashlarue59 Well, I will let him answer if he wants, but this past week we just had a driveby shooting. Nobody was killed, so I would classify that as "somewhere in the middle" on your scale?

Don’t go to Whataburger! When we visited this past December we made it a point to see what the hype was about. And now, we’re still wondering! You guys ok with the storm that just passed by?
I agree with Whataburger! My theory is that those who grew up with In-N-Out/Whataburger/Braum's, etc. grow really attached to that burger. That's the only reason that we could see for people liking Whataburger.
Yes! Thanks for asking! We did get water in our basement, but we just finished clearing that out and its dry again!
I would never move back to Kansas City as I don't have enough money to live anywhere but the ghetto 😢

Water in the basement will happen often. We slept downstairs of our grandparents house and woke up with water in the basement. What kind of insurance do you need for tornadoes?
I will call my insurance agent today, but I believe that standard homeowners insurance covers tornadoes. The thing that isn't covered by a standard policy is usually flood.
Water in the basement is usually a foundation issue.
@@shelondasaxton5786 True. When foundations crack, or if there is too much water it can come through the walls.

Speaking of going to church. Do businesses close down on Sundays? Usually to encourage people to go to church
Some do, definitely more than what closed down when we lived in California. There are plenty of main stores that do stay open. We just went shopping at Aldi today, so they didn't close!
@@LivingInKansasCity-JaylennWong I used to date a girl in Irving, Tx (long distance, don’t ask). And on Sundays everyone, except the big stores, closed on Sundays. Which I liked because it encouraged people to go to church,
@@Kana7782 I think I would like that too, less things to do means more time to Sabbath. I would say that many local businesses will close down on Sundays, especially those mom & pop shops. How long ago did you live in Irving?
@@LivingInKansasCity-JaylennWong I didn’t live in Irving. She lived in Irving. I live in the Los Angeles area. My cousin set us up. Which is why I mentioned it was a long distance relationship.

In Kansas City are the tornados bad as they say they are
Sometimes! Depends on where you are. In our experience, they are bad towards the outer part of the KC metro. I heard of a guy who had his property destroyed by a tornado this year. He lives up in Smithville. However, our home is right in the middle of the metro, and we don't really get really bad tornadoes. That could all change in one day though!

If you hate KC so much just leave as some one who lives in LA (century city) but grew up in KC you seem like you hate them. Also not everyone if you actually knew the community isn’t religious, your facts are wrong and it’s actually disrespectful. I don’t see why you even left LA? If it’s so great in Thai town? I don’t call Santa Clarita LA so why even bring up north of the river? Maybe you should look up while there was segregation you can blame Truman for that! Ugh I love when people talk about things they didn’t grow up there !!! Also there is no real Korean or Japanese community which says a lot the only reason there is the best Vietnamese is because they were forced there for camps and that’s terrible!!! Why do you hate lake jacomo? Too? That’s wild! Go get some real history!!!!
Boy, a lot to respond to here. First of all, thanks for commenting! -Don't hate KC. Would never leave if we didn't have to. We love it here. -Not sure what you're saying about the "religious" aspect of my video. If you clarify, I would be happy to respond. -We left LA so I could go to school here + way better cost of living. -I bring up north of the river because there here is part of KCMO north of the river... -I don't hate Lake Jacomo. I just looked up that map.
