    Just bought the Mach 5 coming from the Clifton 7.. very light, not bulky, more comfortable.
    If you’re a forefoot striker, the front outsole is thin and you’ll feel it.

    I have been wearing the different versions of the Bondi since around 2015. I think I started with the 5. I know have two pair of Bondi 7s and have been alternating with a new pair of Bondi 8. There are several improvements of the 8 over the 7 but I find the 7 to have a bit softer cushion. That is neither good nor bad. The 8 is a great shoe and very comfortable for the long walks I have taken around the hills in our neighborhood and on the many paved walking trails around town. I put in a 4 mile walk the first day I had them with no problems at all. The heel lockdown seems a bit more snug than the 7 and I like the improvements on the tongue. Thanks for your comprehensive reviews and I always check your site first before deciding what to put on my feet next. You have never been wrong.

    Bondi 8 was pretty firm for me, I could feel every shock wave coursing through my ankle and shin due to recent injury. Conversely none in Clifton 8 nor Asics Gel Nimbus. Clifton is definitely more plush pillowy than Bondi 8. Btw I think you said Bondi 7 instead of 8. The SG5 is perfect all around for me although some slipping on wet leaves in the rain. On pebbles, rocky inclines and in mud, pretty good typical of Vibram.

      I am an avid runner, and I’ve been wearing ASICS gel Nimbus and the gel cumulus for decades now. But in the last year, I’ve developed serious pain in the joint of my big toe. It makes it very uncomfortable to even walk let alone run. I believe it’s inflammation in the joint f the big toe from overuse aka Hallux Rigidus. Because I’m not gonna stay off my feet and I won’t stop running until I have to stop running, I am looking for a shoe that has a more rocker style that keeps the pressure off the toes. I read somewhere that the hookah Bond is a good shoe for that. I don’t know who sells them in my area, so I’m just going to order them online, but is this the best shoe that offers of more glider rocker style that alleviates pressure on the toes?

      These are two great options for all-day wear. However, I would probably lean to the Hoka. I think they are a little more stable so over time they should keep you more neutral all day and perhaps help with tired feet. Hoka is our most popular shoe for people rocking them to work.

    Thanks for the video. I have been under the assumption that stability shoes were for people who have pronation issues - that they help keep the ankle from rolling too much to the inside. In your review of the Arahi - you seem to suggest that this stability shoe is good for both pronators and supinators. Can you elaborate more on this? Thanks!

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  Год назад +2

      For the longest time, stability had been only for people who overpronate. If anyone supinated or was rolling to the outside, they were considered neutral. In recent times, a lot of brands have been adding lateral support to their stability shoes. Hoka's J-Frame technology wraps around the heel and extends to the midfoot on the medial side. It is made out of a denser foam which provides support for pronation. The J-Frame's slight extension on the lateral side gives the shoe support for supination. Hope this helps!

    Great video. My podiatrist recommended Skechers arch fit because I have a Tailor's bunion (little toe). I have been comparing the Hokas with the Skechers arch fit. I also walk on wet cobblestones where I live and not too thrilled with the outer treads of the Skechers. With this being said, would the Arahi 6 be better than the Skechers arch fit? Or, is there a better option, brand? Thanks, David

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  3 месяца назад +1

      If you are set on Hoka and want something with better support and tread, we recommend checking out the Stinson 7. It is a maximum cushion stability shoe with the added arch support built into the shoe. The toebox is nice and wide so it will have plenty of room to help with bunions. It is designated as a hybrid road/trail shoe so it has deep lugs for the mud, as well as a grippy outsole rubber for wet surfaces. We have a few people in Europe who inquired about a shoe for daily use on wet cobblestone terrain and they have loved the Stinson.

      I like the Speedgoat more because it has a bit of responsiveness to it. The Cascadia is very much a plush trail shoe whereas the Speedgoat has a bit of a bounce that makes you want to go faster. I also find the Cascadia runs narrow when compared to the Speedgoat.

    Is the arahi influencing the stride a lot..? What is the actual structural difference with the clifton?

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  Год назад +1

      The biggest difference between the two shoes is the Arahi has Hoka’s J-Frame technology that provides stability while the Clifton does not. The J-Frame is a denser foam that wraps around the heel and extends to the forefoot on the medial side to provide support for people who overpronate. The J-Frame also extends to the length of the heel on the lateral side of the foot to help provide support for under-pronation. This will make the Arahi a little heavier even though it has the same stack height of 29mm in the heel and 24mm in the forefoot.

Also planning on using them for every day use

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  4 месяца назад

      The Speedgoat 5 can work as an everyday shoe. The biggest difference is the Vibram outsole is made for grip and durability on trails and off-road terrain. The softer, grippier rubber will wear down faster on pavement and concrete. However, we see a lot of people who use the Speedgoat as an everyday shoe.
