The game that comes to mind is Braid. The way it worked out a basic set of core playing mechanics, then organised the game around those mechanics in a progressive way is instructive.

That’s a great example! Keeping your mechanics organized and building the game around simple mechanics is super important in game development.

Ay thanks for leaving a comment! And thanks for the kind words. I’ve had a pretty bad upload rate in the past but I’m going on a bit of a roll right now, so we’ll see if it lasts!

i'm not a fan of screenshake everyone disalbes it who plays modded Celeste. i make my own mods it's a good way to learn game design. Celeste made their entire Fmod project available for learning purposes. I feel like making another Stardew is not a good idea. Bloomtown just did that, it's an amazing game but i don't think it's doing huge sales to be honest. the Game sphere is very flooded market right now. you gotta make some weird or really good , Maple Forest just got funded on kickstarter in one day. do you know about this game?

Yeah mods are a great way to learn game design! And yeah it’s hard to recreate great games. And I haven’t heard of it, I’ll check it out though!

Thank you! And yeah that’s something I need to work on, and a big reason it was worse in this video was that I was a little sick while making it.
