Get rid of the pressure washer mate. You want to use a regular garden hose with acid as you want lots of water to neutralise the acid. How do you go getting acid on your galvanised trailer?Acid will eat through the galvanising in my experience. Good video and greetings from Sydney Australia
Thanks. My son was pressure washing so it was out. We rinsed really good with hose as well. We wet the trailer down really good so nothing was damaged. Thanks for watching! Have a good one!!!
I used that stuff and had to apply 6 times to get it all off not sure if having my brand new jug of that stuff in the garage over the winter weekend it. A but to say when finished it looked great.
No, because the bunks are not carpet on pontoons, at least they shouldn't be. The wooded carpeted bunks stay wet and cause corrosion to the pontoons. These are wooded bunks covered with a thick vinyl or plastic. Thanks for watching!
@@Davidg1t1 google vinyl Trailer bunk covers and they come up. Pretty common for pontoon boats because carpet holds water and pontoons would rot in the area of bunks where wooded carpeted bunks were in years past.
wanna really make it look good...?? I did this, and then went over my toons with an orbital buffer and foam pad using white diamond aluminum polish.. They'll turn black as you go and hard to wipe off, but I make even that easier by wiping that down with a big towel, then a rag and some acetone or laquer thinner. the toons will look somewhat a polished (which I don't like that look) so I then again, dilute the Aluma bright about 10:1 and give a quick spray with that again and a quick rinse.. They look shiny but more of a factory clean silver instead of either white from full strength acid wash, or mirror like from the polish. i did that5 years ago and clear coated with ToonBrite clear.. which lasted multiple seasons!!! they looked great for years!!
i have an older pontoon that some painted the pontoon with sort of anti fouling paint. they had it in brackish water i guess for algae, they did gator sighting tours, but we use it in salt water and it is pulled after every use. if anyone brushes up any where near the pontoon you get smeared with black. i was afraid to start using strippers as i do not know the brand used on the boat. the man we bought it from has recently passed and no way to find out what he used on the boat.
Thanks for the video. These companies need to figure out a something for the pontoons, no matter what you do, they never look as good as when the boat was new. Any aluminum cleaner dulls the finish, or makes it streaky, chalky, etc. Pontoons always end up looking like sh-t
Pontoon sitting in the water still is rear heavy due to motor…. Also lots of people sit in the shade of a Bimini top when boat is sitting still. 99% of the time the water line has nothing to do with water in toons.
May I suggest that when making videos, you not have whatever motor thing is running in the background, running? As a viewer, I hated every second that thing was making noise. Thank you
@Ron Zea, the video is 12:25 minutes long. Not 20? The way he said 10 minutes was obviously a guesstimate. Haha your a prick. Even if it took an hour, that’s pretty good for that big boat.

I did this last year. Works very well. my trailer is powder coated and it absolutely discolored that powder coat though. Only downfall of this.
Will that stuff eat the paint off a lower unit? Looking at a boat right now and it's got bad stains like this on it.
Honestly I wouldn’t do that
Hey Jacked Up - whats your experience with Alumabrite on pontoon bottom paint? Will it remove bottom paint? Thanks
Woukdnt be good I don’t think
Hey thanks man, looks good. What kind of brush do you use? A stiff bristled brush or is it on the softer side?
I use a pretty stiff one to start then switch to a softer one tp spread the acid around.
Very Educational
Thank You
You Saved Me Some Major Money
No Need To have Them Cleaned
When I Can Clean Them Myself
Thanks for watching! Amazing how much money we can all save by doing these things ourselves!
Thank you for the video will try to do that myself
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
I am old and need to hire it done, how many hours did it take for you to clean up this pontoon?
George in Bama
Honestly ti just clean the pontoons it’s literally 20-30 min start to finish
Did it dull the trailer finish when it got on it?
No I made sure we wet the trailer down really good before applying.
I used that stuff and had to apply 6 times to get it all off not sure if having my brand new jug of that stuff in the garage over the winter weekend it. A but to say when finished it looked great.
Good deal! I noticed a good coat of wax on after helps too. Nothing crazy just a light wax
Could I use this on the fence rails or too risky to use it near the vinyl seats?
You could wipe it with a rag. Test a spot somewhere hidden to see
Thank you very much!! You guys rock!!! Sorry you have to get through the smell!!!
Thanks for watching!
Does the chemicals hurt the bunks that the pontoons sit on on your trailer?

@@JackedUpFishing what kind of plastic or vinyl do you use? Thanks for the video bro! I do lift repairs, and I need an alternative to carpeted bunks.

@@JackedUpFishing great tip brother! Thank You 👍🏼
Can you use gone in 30 seconds?
Not sure. I have never used that product
Would that cleaner work on salt water stains?
Not really
I’ve used this on semis and it is excellent. However! It will etch paint. So on painted trailer paint will be etched also.
Yep you are correct, don't want it on painted trailers for sure.
How can you make it shiny again. Tried wax, didn't work
Only way is to buff but that’s a serious job
I think the word you were aiming for there at the end is atomized. I could be wrong tho. Thanks for the tip!!
Maybe 🤔
Try toon bright it’s a bit stronger but does a great job
Will do

Awesome I will keep that in mind! Thanks for the suggestion
I tried using the brightener and it left streaks on the pontoon. And ideas on how to get rid of the streaks. Looks pretty bad
I usually do it again and it gets rid of the streaks
Dude! That shit is awesome! Thanks for the video!
Awesome glad u liked it! Tight lines !
How do you clean the part on the trailer bunkers?
Pontoon boats a super light we just Jack one side up at a time and do in between
@@JackedUpFishing thanks
I use it 1:3 and it works great. No reason for full strength!
Awesome good to know
probably needed full strength to remove the scum and build up... maybe if bare clean aluminum, 3:1 would be fine. I use this stuff often.
Thanks!!
No prob! Tight lines

I agree 100 percent!
Napa great❤
💯
Acid and no protective gear…?
I know I know….
You have water in your toons. Looks like the rear is sitting very low
Think it has more weight in rear. No leaks or water in toons. It was sold years ago though

next time start at the bottom and work your way up to prevent streaks.
Yeah prob right. I didn’t have any at the end we scrubbed it

Was years ago when I started.
You said is easy as 10 minutes but the video is 20 minutes long and the other side needs to be done I don't think the job is a 10-minute job
It’s pretty easy if your not filming and tryn to make a video. Spray it on wash it off…

Could you not just use toilet bowl cleaner for $2.50
You could but it’s actually cheaper to use the stuff I use and yiu get a gallon.
At least 2 Gallons,!,,,,,,!
For what?
what is all that noise in the background sounds like a pressure washeer
Yeah my son was pressure washing inside of boat
