Why are there people doubting this is the Atari ST version? I remember myself buying this for the ST and being wowed at the time. One of the best games on the ST.
@wrestletube1 it is atari st. by simple trick AY sound chip can be turned into 3 4-bit DACs so it is possible to play music like this. the main disadvantage is that consumes lot of cpu time so it is not not used for in-game music
I have an original ST and confirm this is 100% atari st version. Moreover after having heard amiga tune on youtube, I dont understand why ppl continue saying its music for turrican II was better. This version sounds... more defined.
My my, Amiga fanboys are a funny bunch. This IS the Atari version, go download an ST emulator and a copy of the game if you don't believe me. The ST had a low spec sound system, but don't forget its CPU was just as powerful as the Amiga's and it was capable of emulating PCM sound with about 25% of CPU. Intro screens on the ST that use chip music are quite rare. There are full multi-track MOD players for the ST which can play Amiga MOD's, which probably also surprises you.
I can confirm this is the Atari ST version having played it on both the Atari and Amiga. The sound on the amiga version is crisper, as was pretty much all amiga music.
Some crazy talk from people saying the ST version had better music. That's just nuts, it sounds muffled compared to the Amiga version and the drums are nowhere near as crisp or clear. The only game I've came across that sounds better on the ST is Xenon. The bleepy wobbley sounds of the ST seem to work in its favour for Xenon's music and effects.
+trip2themoon let 's agree to disagree then. Because the AMiga version pales in comparison to the Atari's. But maybe it's 8-year old me being subjective about it ;)
trip2themoon Still, the Amiga 1000 came out in 85. And a micro processor does not make a computer. Chips around are different, Amiga have a lot of IO, but, the most important part, on Amiga, there is an operating system and virtual memory and it costs a lot. The megadrive is just like a powerful gameboy.
Have you even played the ST version? If you read the credits it mentions staff from both ST and Amiga versions. This is the ST version and you can tell the difference as it sounds a little muffled compared to the Amiga. The line: Get your facts straight before passing comment.
Amiga fan boys have to feel superior about something because their shitty computer is piss boring compared with the likes of the Mega Drive or SNES which cost less than half the price.

Une des toute meilleur musique de jeux vidéo que j'ai eut l'occasion d'écouter ces 25 dernières années !
It is the Atari ST version of the game and I recorded it using the SainT eumlator.

ST is a direct AMIGA port title screen.
I assure you this is the ST version.

No this is the Atari ST version!
🙏
Sounds like a shellac record or an original Sound Blaster.
Yeah, Atari ST can play good stuff. We love digi stuff from regular ST too: ym-digital.i-demo.pl/
And remember shoot or die !
@Rolli14 Well said man ;)
its funny when some ppl say that the c64 version of the game is better than the st port ROTFL
Wrestle, please go download an ST emulator and the game if you don't believe this is the ST version.
see that or listen
There's not much in the graphics but the music is a bit crude compared to the Amiga!!
If this is atari... could you make a video you booting it up on a atari emulatior? if not this is fake.

trip2themoon, you compare a computer from 85 with a multitask OS with two consoles released in 88 and 90. That is not relevant.
The most common Amiga came out in '87 and had the same 68000 processor as the MD.

errata: not virtual memory, but still preemptive multitasking, again.
I don't buy this being the Atari version.
The Line:
Original AMIGA Graphics = Busted
