    By far the best version of Blackbird I've heard on the banjo. A lot of other versions make it a little bluegrassy which is interesting but personally I like this one because it's more accurate to the original record.

    Just stumbled across your channel and loving it! Went from learning 3-finger banjo to finger-picking style guitar and now starting to learn clawhammer so some of your combination of traditional guitar tunes on banjo has me wowed and inspired! What are you using as your "strum machine" for backing tracks for these recordings? Would be fun to do more of that and sure beats a metronome for maintaining a steady rhythm!

    • @banjogranny9156
      @banjogranny9156  Год назад +1

      Thank you so much! Most of my videos have Strum Machine as the background. Some have Grass Trax (Lonesome Road Blues, Reuben, Soldier's Joy, and maybe one or two more.) The Cumberland Gap has a recording of my clawhammer teacher, Dan Stewart, playing the guitar. And you are so right - a metronome is a sure way to take all the fun and musicality out of a practice session. Strum Machine has helped me so much with timing, isolating parts that I'm having trouble with, and getting a song up to speed. It has some limitations, but it's a great tool. I've heard "Band in a Box" is great, but it seems too hard to learn, at least for me.
