I avoided all poster, teasers and trailers. Went to theatre with a blank mind. This is one of the best experiences i had in theater. Enjoyed every scene (thought the cgi missed occasionally, the story kept me captiveted). This is definitely a huge milestone and will be an inspiration to the upcoming Indian Cenimas.

I think, you missed the action scenes of the mythological part. I just loved the action scenes shown from Mahabharat. Showing Arjuna, Karna few shorts but amazing.

Kalki was really great distopian and historical movie... The director ( Nag Ashwin ) is mastermind director who really Gave us modern time Mahabharat scenes... And actually its a new Indian cinema...so we all have to appreciate the movie, Thanks 🙏😇
The movie has achieved or delivered the stuffs that we can only imagine of...apart from few things the movie is just superb... people can't see the hard work they have done to create something like this...we seriously need to celebrate this before it becomes underrated
I think way too much effort was put into making the movie look aesthetically pleasing rather than on writing, character development and world building. There were several misses in the humor as well as cameos, like Bhramhanandam, Murnal, Dulkar, Vijay devarkonda (this impression is definitely owing to his recent filimogrophy). I think there is a lacking towards emotional connection towards the plot or any rooting for the main character. I personally think they could've done better on writing, character development & fighting choreography(other than aswathama fight at interval, rest was okay). The two strong points in the movie is Mahabhartha plot and Amitabh Bachchan and i have to say this...man what a legend, I just cant imagine another actor for the role, especially being an 82 year old and playing centuries old aswathama , the stature, the presence really sold the character. Lastly Credit where credit due, props to the nag ashwin for trying a unique concept and I think this is a step in the right direction.

Its not about Indian or Western cinema. Its about stories and story-telling. Had this film taken it's props more seriously, it would have complimented its exciting plot and characters.

Tbh, the only sole reason we saw the glimpse of karna in bhairava(which btw was not at all expected, like I myself was only predicting him to be the incarnation of Lord bhairav at max which always happens when vishnu takes incarnation like hanuman with ram then again hanuman with krishna but it makes sense cause hanuman will be definitely shown and there's no need for like two shiv avatars) is because he has been reincarnated as karna just like it happened in mahabharat and ramayan. Ohk lemme give the back story. So when bali got defeated in the battle between him and sugreev by ram's arrow, it wasn't supposed to be like that. So when vishnu got back to his prime form in the vakunth, surya dev and indra dev came and said that u played wrong with us cause bali was a player of indra and sugreev belonged to surya and since by cheating, bali got defeated (which he couldn't have ever cause he had the power to extract 50% power of his opponent to him, making him undefeateable) and so to end their tussle, vishnu promised to correct it the next time and that's why then he gave his allegence to indra putra arjun against surya putra karn. So now we know that each character in their past life do come back again with different bodies to compensate for what could not be done by them in their past life. That's why I think everyone who was against krishna in mahabharat with ofcourse 7 cheeranjeevis will again take incarnation so that they could repent for what they did wrong in dwapar yug. That's why ashwathama is there as well as karn is there, cause they both were against krishna and wanted to end him but now given the circumstances, to do the pashyatap, they have to now protect and fight on kalki's side now(I don't personally think, the people who were with krishna's side will come again cause they have already proven their allegence and worthy to end this reincarnation process, and are now free forever from it). He multiple times made us realise by his dialogues specially when he was given the offer to join the rebels the first time, he did said that he tried to be on the both sides but in the end he realised that the only side is our own side, the selfish side, not that I'm saying karna was selfish, in mahabharat he did everything because of his word and never ending promise of friendship to duryodhan but that was because it was duryodhan first who got for his side first. He is also to be seen as giving away money so easily just like karn use to do, give away anything u could ask for(that's why he was called daanveer karn for a reason). That dialogue u pointed out that here bhairava says “there’s only one side, khud ki side” has a significance which shows his character in the movie. He is a selfish person in the movie. So ou need to understand that this movie is set in the future, 850 years from now and you all how we all are so selfish already at the present time, imagine how people would be 800 years into the future where basic necessities are precious where people become selfish.. I think many of the audiences and critics are not able to understand the fact that this movie is set in the future and the director nagi has thought through so much about it wrote the script.. people are thinking from their perspective of the current time which is not appropriate I think.
The Only positive about this movie is AB. Starts very slow it ruins all the excitement untill Amitabh entries and all the exciting part is also around him only. He only uplift screenplay whenever he is shown during movie. People expect thrill and excitement from these types of movies instead of creepy jokes.

Copy pasting my take on comedy from my other comment : The comedy was a must coz bhairava’s character is a grey character. Usually in Indian cinema especially in Telugu cinema, audiences don’t like it when the lead actor is anything lesser than good.. I mean we like to have our heroes to “heroes “ you know. But this story demands prabhas’s character to be grey and to compensate that nagi the director made bhairava to be a funny, likeable character by adding comedy and lot of cameos.. you know it’s tricky to make an Indian movie and make it lovable by everyone and nagi mastered it..
The world's can be different and the consistency can be uneven, but what they pulled off in these times, is what we as an audience need. Now we can dream big. We proved it guys. What do you think Mr. Reviewer?

Watched Kalki yesterday. What a gem❤🤩🔥. All stars were superb but Bachhan was the highlight. That man proves everytime why he is the Shehenshah of Indian cinema. Kamal hassan will eat everyone in 2nd part that's for sure. The worst part was Disha patani part. She was just eye candy to show swimsuit😂. Also Keerty Suresh as Bujji was superb. Man excited for 2nd part.💪🔥
Movie starting 5 minutes totally goosebumps after that completely on slow pace unnecessary comedy in fight scenes,, then 15 minutes before interval was Amazing actually the film starts after the entry of Amit g after interval movie goes on fastrack and the climax and post credit scenes are superb. Negative points : unnecessary poor Comedy , What happened to Disha only kalki knows , Poor dialogue writing, Slow first half Appreciable points : Director vision is amazing If you completely avoid above points then it is the first Indian movie with such strong si-fi theme which justify it's universe Superb vfx Kamal Hassan 15 minutes more crucial than Prabas bullshit Amit g screen presene was top notch Multiple cameos It's a fresh adaptation of such theme in Indian cinema I still don't believe a Indian movie with such vision truly appreciable.

Yes, I agree with Vishal bhai but this film is next level from VFX to other graphics where the story and screenplay were good and maybe see that Banerjee's role was not significant and he didn't got that good attention in the audience this was because even the directors didn't gave attention to improvise his role I hope they don't make this mistake again and somewhere kamal hassan sir's role was also not that good. But overall the movie is very good from mass audience perspective.

I feel that the 2 trailers gave away a lot. So many rousing scenes were already revealed in the trailer. Except for Ashwathama and Bhairava fights, there wasn't anything new or exciting to look forward. Sumathi walking through the fire and the flames parting- reflective of Yamuna river parting when Vasudeva carried Krishna on his head - was such a good scene, but didn't give the emotional payoff because we didn't know her story or the things she had actually endured. No emotional connect. That was the biggest drawback.

My only criticisms of the movie are Prabhas, like wtf he did not suit the character at all only actors who could've pulled this role are either Allu Arjun or Hrithik Roshan, Bhai jab bhi Prabhas screen per aata tha itna cringe lagta tha bande ki screen presence bohot kharab hai isse aachi screen presence brahmanandam ki thi, and second criticism is the action, it really needed to be a bit more refined and at times they felt like cliched south movie but a lot of times it was really impressive as specially all the scenes from Mahabharat part, I'd love to see a Mahabharat or Ramayana movie with the same level of VFX it would be the greatest movie ever made in cinema history

I think way too much effort was put into making the movie look aesthetically pleasing rather than on writing, character development and world building. There were several misses in the humor as well as cameos, like Bhramhanandam, Murnal, Dulkar, Vijay devarkonda (this impression is definitely owing to his recent filimogrophy). I think there is a lacking towards emotional connection towards the plot or any rooting for the main character.
I personally think they could've done better on writing, character development & fighting choreography(other than aswathama fight at interval, rest was okay). The two strong points in the movie is Mahabhartha plot and Amitabh Bachchan and i have to say this...man what a legend, I just cant imagine another actor for the role, especially being an 82 year old and playing centuries old aswathama , the stature, the presence really sold the character.
Lastly Credit where credit due, props to the nag ashwin for trying a unique concept and I think this is a step in the right direction.

Tbh, the only sole reason we saw the glimpse of karna in bhairava(which btw was not at all expected, like I myself was only predicting him to be the incarnation of Lord bhairav at max which always happens when vishnu takes incarnation like hanuman with ram then again hanuman with krishna but it makes sense cause hanuman will be definitely shown and there's no need for like two shiv avatars) is because he has been reincarnated as karna just like it happened in mahabharat and ramayan. Ohk lemme give the back story. So when bali got defeated in the battle between him and sugreev by ram's arrow, it wasn't supposed to be like that. So when vishnu got back to his prime form in the vakunth, surya dev and indra dev came and said that u played wrong with us cause bali was a player of indra and sugreev belonged to surya and since by cheating, bali got defeated (which he couldn't have ever cause he had the power to extract 50% power of his opponent to him, making him undefeateable) and so to end their tussle, vishnu promised to correct it the next time and that's why then he gave his allegence to indra putra arjun against surya putra karn. So now we know that each character in their past life do come back again with different bodies to compensate for what could not be done by them in their past life. That's why I think everyone who was against krishna in mahabharat with ofcourse 7 cheeranjeevis will again take incarnation so that they could repent for what they did wrong in dwapar yug. That's why ashwathama is there as well as karn is there, cause they both were against krishna and wanted to end him but now given the circumstances, to do the pashyatap, they have to now protect and fight on kalki's side now(I don't personally think, the people who were with krishna's side will come again cause they have already proven their allegence and worthy to end this reincarnation process, and are now free forever from it). Also if u focus, u will figure out that they did gave us a hint as u can see, Bhairava too was abandoned like karna after the birth, like karna he was an outcast wanting to become the part of the hirerchy he deserved but was denied from and similarly Bhairava ws also always running for the the most important and resourceful place on earth at that time, the complex. and just like karna when his chariot was stuck in midlle of kurukshetra,pushing a wheel and holding it similarly before the interval u can see Bhairava holding a wheel on flame signifying the element of surya of karna also that explains that why he could only take a fight with ashwatthama. He multiple times made us realise by his dialogues specially when he was given the offer to join the rebels the first time, he did said that he tried to be on the both sides but in the end he realised that the only side is our own side, the selfish side, not that I'm saying karna was selfish, in mahabharat he did everything because of his word and never ending promise of friendship to duryodhan but that was because it was duryodhan first who got for his side first. He is also to be seen as giving away money so easily just like karn use to do, give away anything u could ask for(that's why he was called daanveer karn for a reason). Well that was my hypothesis though💛

That dialogue u pointed out that here bhairava says “there’s only one side, khud ki side” has a significance which shows his character in the movie. He is a selfish person in the movie. So ou need to understand that this movie is set in the future, 850 years from now and you all how we all are so selfish already at the present time, imagine how people would be 800 years into the future where basic necessities are precious where people become selfish.. I think many of the audiences and critics are not able to understand the fact that this movie is set in the future and the director nagi has thought through so much about it wrote the script.. people are thinking from their perspective of the current time which is not appropriate I think.

Copy pasting my take on comedy from my other comment : The comedy was a must coz bhairava’s character is a grey character. Usually in Indian cinema especially in Telugu cinema, audiences don’t like it when the lead actor is anything lesser than good.. I mean we like to have our heroes to “heroes “ you know. But this story demands prabhas’s character to be grey and to compensate that nagi the director made bhairava to be a funny, likeable character by adding comedy and lot of cameos.. you know it’s tricky to make an Indian movie and make it lovable by everyone and nagi mastered it..

Watched Kalki yesterday. What a gem❤🤩🔥. All stars were superb but Bachhan was the highlight. That man proves everytime why he is the Shehenshah of Indian cinema. There are many proofs for the Mahabharata…
1. The Dwarka nagri - Dwarka nagri which was made and ruled by Shri Krishna was from Mahabharata time and is found recently in the Arabic sea
2. The Kedarnath Temple - The Kedarnath Temple was made by Pandavas, when they were climbing the Himalayas for the search of stairs to Heaven, as on the journey, they wanted to meet Mahadev and Mahadev were angry on them and dont wanted to meet, so appeared as a bull and Bhim resisted Mahadev(bull) and the The triangular part on back of bull isTh3 the Shiva pind in Kedarnath Temple.
3. The Kurukshetra - The Kurukshetra in Haryana is the battlefield of Mahabharata and all the soil there is still red because of the blood of the people who died in the War.
4. The Akshaya Vatt - The Akshaya Vatt in Jyotisar in Kurukshetra is the place where Shri Krishna told Geeta to Arjuna under the banyan tree (Akshaya Vatt)
5. The Gangeshwar Mahadev - The Gangeshwar Mahadev near Diu are also the Shivaling which were established by the Pandavas
6. The Mathura nagri - The Mathura nagri having the palace of Kans, the jail where Shri Krishna was borned and the arena where Shri Krishna killed Kans is also present.

Mahimabhatta writes in Vyaktiviveka that the primary purpose of a kavya is similar to that of shastra-s - kavya imparts instructions regarding the prohibitions and the injunctions to lead an ethical life similar to the shastra-s but it uses the medium of attractive stories.
Hence these real stories are added with a lot of mythology in grandeur for story telling for spread of Dharma

Yes, I agree with Vishal bhai but this film is next level from VFX to other graphics where the story and screenplay were good and maybe see that Banerjee's role was not significant and he didn't got that good attention in the audience this was because even the directors didn't gave attention to improvise his role I hope they don't make this mistake again and somewhere kamal hassan sir's role was also not that good. But overall the movie is very good from mass audience perspective.

I feel that the 2 trailers gave away a lot. So many rousing scenes were already revealed in the trailer. Except for Ashwathama and Bhairava fights, there wasn't anything new or exciting to look forward.
Sumathi walking through the fire and the flames parting- reflective of Yamuna river parting when Vasudeva carried Krishna on his head - was such a good scene, but didn't give the emotional payoff because we didn't know her story or the things she had actually endured. No emotional connect. That was the biggest drawback.

My only criticisms of the movie are Prabhas, like wtf he did not suit the character at all only actors who could've pulled this role are either Allu Arjun or Hrithik Roshan, Bhai jab bhi Prabhas screen per aata tha itna cringe lagta tha bande ki screen presence bohot kharab hai isse aachi screen presence brahmanandam ki thi, and second criticism is the action, it really needed to be a bit more refined and at times they felt like cliched south movie but a lot of times it was really impressive as specially all the scenes from Mahabharat part, I'd love to see a Mahabharat or Ramayana movie with the same level of VFX it would be the greatest movie ever made in cinema history
