How many parents buy rabbits (and guineapigs) for their children and lock it up in a small cage in the backyard for the rest of it's life 😢😢 Many people do not realize how social they are.

We had to put Mr. Bunny in his cage (large) when we were at work and school but once we were home he was free to roam and we fed him various veggies and he had plenty of water at all times. His bedding was Timothy due to our allergies to Alfalfa. He was loved and coddled by my sons and myself for years before he passed away.

I had a little bunny when I was a kid, and that BEAST was so aggressive, right from the start.
It was absolutely not a ‘cute cuddle bunny’ and I didn’t live in a house where I could give it the space it needed and deserved. My other bunny was not aggressive at all, so that one would walk freely around the house.
But this one would simply attack everyone in the house, including the other bunny.
So I asked my Dad to drive me and the bunny to the city farm (urban farm, petting zoo), where it could stay away from people and other animals and STILL have enough space to enjoy its life.
I went over every now and then, but I hardly ever saw it and when I did, it was all the way back in one of the wooden ‘houses’ that were in the enclosure. (I was 9 or 10).
In contrast with what many people think, bunnies are NOT good animals for kids. The video gives a lot of reasons why that is the case!
My parents (and little me) did not know this upfront! (mind you, this was about 45 years ago!!)

Thank you for giving the bunny such a wonderful home! So glad to hear it stated that they require more attention than dogs. I have a bird who also requires much more attention than a dog. There is a reason that dogs and cats are the most common pet, folks. Rabbits and birds are not starter pets and will not suit the lifestyles of many people (though they likely won't know that in advance).

Love to see a well cared for bunny, with lots of space to run around. I agree that they require a lot more attention and care than a dog and cat. My bun is free roam and gets along with our cat but I still dont leave them alone. He gets to free roam in a bedroom while I'm out. Important that new bunny owners know that they shouldn't be left alone with other pets. My cat is a sweetheart but bunnies are prey animals and theres no reason to take risks like that. This isnt an attack on this lady and her animals, clearly they are loved and very well cared for.

Although, please make sure the cats don't claw him accidentally or he bites the cats. I know he can take care of himself but you should still always supervise, especially rabbits with what they are eating and doing. You are completely correct that rabbits require a lot of appropriate knowledge and care, the correct diet, correct environment (lots of space), correct objects (no wires, poisonous plants, anything unnatural that they could chew and swallow) etc. In my opinion, rabbits require as much care, knowledge and almost space as horses do.

Bunny cage? Gives me the shivers, to be honest. Bunny sleeping space? Yes. Bunny toilet? Yes. No matter the animal, the should be able to roam (free). Remember the corona lockdown? Image that scenario, except all you have is the room with your bed and, with luck, a toilet. You probably wouldn't like that, would you?

I had a similar story. I worked as a dispatcher for a PD. I got a call from a citizen about a while 🐇 on a lawn that looked like it was abandoned. My officer brought it back to HQ. Animal control was not around for the weekend, so I took him home temporarily and named him Cadbury. He was fluffy with long ears. The first night, he slept with me and left billions of poop pellets in the bed. Cleaned them up easy, peasy. Despite setting up an enclosure for Sir Cadbury, he knocked out my internet, cable, and telephone, chewed through 120v cables, drywall, ethernet cable, and my gym sneakers. In under 24 hours, he did like $300.00 in damage. Loved him, but my temporary foster remained temporary.

Maybe a rescue centre would let her do a trial introduction with a really chill neutered male, that way she’d have a bunny friend who might mellow her out? It’s a risk, because she’s so territorial, and she may have had to compete for resources in the breeding situation she was previously kept in. But if the rescue would allow a trial period to see how she reacts to a totally laid back fellow bunny, that could make a huge difference…or she _might_ beat him up! But at least she’d know.

Hi I just wanted you to know my cats don’t live in fear at all they actually look for her when she hides they like getting chased they literally go asking for it Cats have access to areas the bunny is not allowed to get on like my couch & bed but they love sleeping in her area as well. She’s not constantly chasing them sometimes they’re hanging out side by side but it all depends on her mood. I appreciate your concern. Just wanted you to know all the pets in this house are living their best life 🫶

Hysterical. I did 25 years rescue in Los Angeles. I was surprised to learn that a rabbit will fight until the end If they are not neutered. I had a boy rabbit and got a second and found out the hard way. A rabbit person told me recently that it is the same for female rabbits. If you or anyone consider a second rabbit, they must be sterilized to avoid territorial fighting or worse. I wonder if this female rabbit is spayed. If not, this may be why she attacks everyone!

It's great that Tofu was rescued but she seems like she's bullying all the other animals in the house, which is incredibly unfair on them. This isn't as cute as you seem to think it is. No animal should be afraid in their own home. Maybe give the other pets time without having to be scared by putting tofu in one of her luxury rooms by herself for a bit each day so the rest of the house can relax.
I hope you do something to curb this behaviour, the odd jealous outburst is okay but when it's a consistent pattern the it needs to be dealt with!

Boy, did that rabbit luck out getting you. She has that double chin for extra surface space for fur. When females go into labor they pull out that fur to line their nest.
