Virtual DJ has one built in with the Pro version that's free (if you're a user of VDJ). It also sends the request directly into a side list menu within VDJ (you can have it auto search and pull the song from your library) and it also allows for tips too. (oh, and can be set up for multi-venues!)
Request now is awesome. I love it.I’ve been using it for a couple months now. Very helpful and worth it. I made business cards to be used for requests with the phone number I was assigned and placed a few of them on the tables for the guests to use which also has the QR code. They always love it. On a side note I recommend paying the $3 monthly fee to keep the same phone number that they will assign solely to you.
I’ve been doing this for years. I simply set up a Google Voice number, that is a catchy “phrase” (no numbers). My guests simply text a request to that address/number and I get it on my phone, or iPad. Free and super easy.

Trying it out for an upcoming event...if it goes as smooth as expected, I will be signing up for the "pay as you go" plan...only because not all my events would benefit from the guests sending in requests. But for $13 a pop...you cannot get a better deal!
In my opinion, I really think that all the DJ software should follow Virtual DJ steps in this case and add a request feature like Virtual DJ's Ask The DJ. But that is my humble opion. Have a great day Rick.

This seems a tad excessive and onerous way to get requests (which most DJs don't want anyway!). In my experience (granted it's a UK crowd so it maybe different elsewhere), guests don't want to be messing about getting codes etc just to request a tune when they can simply jot it down on a piece of paper (old school). If they want to go down the tech route then they can text/whatsapp the DJ. Far from seeing it as risk or burden, promoting your mobile/cell number here is as good a tool as sending your insta address.
Social distancing is the Last thing on Everyone's mind at any party. So I don't see this TextNOW app helpful enough. Unless I'm DJing on top a 3ft high 20ft long stage, then yes. Social distancing between the crowd and the DJ can be enforced.
So say I'm doing a school dance, and there is no available Wi-Fi to connect to, is this service completely useless to me? Cell service would obviously be available, but from the video it seemed like this would be solely wi-fi based?

It depends on your use case too. With AVDJ you are leaving money on the table because you can’t send a thank you message directly to their phone at the end of the night. Worth spending a few bucks to brand and market yourself !

@djrickweb I cant be the only one whos wanted to provide the Playlist from the night to the guests at the end as a gift, that obviously keeps on giving, I have figured out how to autocurate a playlist than recreate it with zaps and send to all majors with a keyword and get the link back to send all my guests but was wondering if this already exist out there. It gives them a memory to revisit attached to my brand and my favorite part introduces them to new artist. Playlist have become an integral part of branding and growing a base, Wish I figured that out when You Tube was invented I would be a lot richer. Id be richest. But truly where is the full onsuite of all DJ softwares that solves all these don't need 15 apps, lol, Should I just build it? Cause yes tips are ok they are right now money but you know ore than anyone its the residuals of branding that can push you from weekend party dj to career industry level that can help afford to live the luxurious life of owning every new item only to understand in the end their overpriced revamps making you look deeper inside and realizing the true value of music relies on the end message received and that's the real measure of success. I don't want Riches I want Wealth lol.
