  • Someone’s taken one of my beats, put vocals on it and uploaded it to streaming platforms without my permission. Super annoying I’ve had to spend my morning/afternoon sending emails trying to get the track removed 😤 I’ve seen this happening more and more lately and it’s not ok!!!!!

Do you upload your songs to Spotify before posting them on RUclips? That would solve ur issue if you do, that way your music can get traction and u get paid from multiple avenues. You could get a copyright label for each one of your tracks as well.

Also, imagine a world where the Winston Brothers, Amen break was never ripped, no doubt you wouldn't have a Jungle genre to inspire your own creativity. The relationship between theft and music creation is interesting indeed. I am not judging either way. It is not simply black and white as your original response implies.

I agree with you, of course. You may be interested in the artist Luxxury (two x's) (tiktok, youtube, spotify). He's a producer and for years he's been doing pretty in depth videos about "borrowed" works in music, and also things specifically designed to sound like another part of a song.
The stuff is REALLY in depth. Song A gets a thing from song B that came out 15 years ago. But, song C was similar and came out 2 years earlier. And, song C copied it from song D from 10 years before that.
He's got a great ear. He dives pretty deeply into topics. He's been doing a podcast called One Song for a bit where they just do a deep dive into a single track (or concept) and look at stems and how things were made.
    Sorry this happened to you.
If you end up checking out Luxxury, I'd love to hear your opinion on what he breaks down. 👍
