PRINCE was a master musician, an incredible songwriter, a brilliant performer and inspiring mentor but he was also a magnificent band leader. He truly is the greatest of all time.👑💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🕊️ There is truly no one compared or even close to him. No matter what anyone says about him or the stories that are being told since his passing PRINCE’s talent was god given and he was lit every time.🙌🏽

Yeah I know the feeling, saw him in Stockholm at an outdoor festival 2009 in August. He was the last performance and was ending the festival. He was late for over an hour, and meantime purple confetti was shooting out over the audience for all that time while prince music was playing. Than we saw a boat coming and there he was the little man with the big voice and a genius on guitar and piano ;). So suddenly he appears on stage , audience were wild, applause wouldn't stop and he hadn't played a note, it was so freaking amazing and lovely and then he kicked off the show, and what a show, i got goosebumps thinking about it. He played for almost 3 hours. And came onto stage again 2 more times , playing 20 more songs. Fucking unbelievable consert and a memory for life ;)

I remember seeing Prince Live WAAAAY back in '79 at the Bijou Cafe in Philly. It was my freshman year of high school and we actually rode our bikes in the middle of winter to try and get in. Of course we didn't but we stood by the stage door. I remember watching watching Dez, Bobby Z and Andre all walk past us. Prince was already inside. But the crazy thing was that this dude was standing by the stage right next to us. He was dressed to the MAX!!!! Kept clowning us because we were freezing but him it was a Spring Day. Flash forward to my senior year '82 we saw Prince again at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby during the Controversy tour. That same dude was opening for Prince. It was Morris Day!!! He actually remembered us but couldn't clown since we were driving at that point.
Prince the Musician, Artist and Human Being has gotten me through some bad times. Even as a march towards my 60's outside of a handful of artist Prince is still at the top of my playlist.

Everything he dose is different from the last you listened. You know it is Prince because it is distinctly his touch but every genre is represented. He never plays a song the same each time without some tinkling with the arrangement and it just sounds better each time.

Dude...there's a reason why Prince is a legend. He was one of the best musicians, singers, and song writers ever to grace our lives. He exudes cool, calm, and collected. He sweats sex. I wish that I had gone to see him live in NY.
I hope that Marta (his partner for 20+ years) is doing alright.
For that matter, R0xxy, I hope that you're doing alright.
Dude...have you watched him play the half time show during a rain storm? That was friggen awesome!

Yes! That performance at the Super Bowl was absolutely amazing…one of the best live performances ever ( if not THE best)!

Who is this partner Martha that you speak of? I didn't know Prince had a partner of 20 years?

@@thesolitaryadventurer Her name was Mayte, they were married but not for 20 years, I think just a couple. They had a child who died shortly after birth.

And this is one of the many reasons that he’s my favorite live performer. You can’t beat his energy that he and his band were supplying. I was fortunate to see him perform live 4 different times.Nobody can copy his style. He can do them but they can’t do him if that makes sense.
He always has great crowd participation at his shows. My 1st concert of his I went to was back in 97. It was Larry Graham who opened, then Chaka Kahn, and then the man himself. 3 legends at 1 show and they all killed it.

This is a beautiful surprise of a video. You're right,,,, He did have all the Funk. You might be the first one to react to it. I found it the day it showed up on you tube...after I heard about a release of new material on the Web. I think I've watched it about 20 times in the past 2 weeks or so.

I always recommend people watch these live Prince clips twice and the second time, try to focus on the crowd and see how much fun they’re having. Somebody said when he passed, “nobody ever went to a Prince concert, looked around and said ‘I don’t belong here’” and that’s the truth. It was always just all kinds of people having fun.

It was a two hour show so even with three encores it was a short show for him. Some shows on some tours could go 3or more hours and then he would go to a small club and jam for 3/4 hours for an after show party most nights. He was music
