Hey Josh, can you please do a video on a Flagstaff Classic 8529CSB as it's our favourite to date. I think it will be between it and the Brinkley. Love how you show every detail and include travel mode. thanks!
I would love to see your 'TOP 5 ROAD MODE' 5th wheels. I love that you show us what these all look like closed up... Something that most people can't imagine when walking through at the dealership. 👍
Question, why do these beautiful RV's have that toe stub in front of the cooking space? I saw one model (I think it was Alliance) that did away with that. I mean really this would be an easy buy for me without that toe nubber stove stubber.
Josh, I ordered this exact unit after attending an RV show earlier this Fall. This manufacturer really speaks to me (Rockwood doing Rockwood things). After reviewing several other manufactures at the show we pulled the trigger a week later on this model with our local Rockwood dealer. Although this particular model wasn't available for viewing at the show, it checked a lot of boxes for us. Rockwood's fit and finish, along with it's 6 sided aluminum framing sealed the deal. Your video's on the Flagwood/Rockstaff product line brought these units to the forefront for us and peaked our interest. Congratulations on achieving 200K in subs. We wish you continued success in 2023 and beyond. Thanks for all that you do!
Well, congratulations on a great RV. If my videos were helpful, and would you mind leaving me a quick review in return for the efforts at g.page/r/CdPcitNVx2nDEAg/review please?
Great video but has quality improved since covid?? Our Forest River and neighbors jayco bought early 2022, spend most of their time with warranty work.
Rockwood has been earning gold-level DSI awards for several consecutive years so they've been doing well for a while "Covid Quality" is a real thing. I won't deny that. But it's not necessarily "industry-wide" thing you can apply as a blanket Some brands and certainly factories within those have been more/less guilty. It really varies. I do feel OVERALL things are getting better.. but in some cases there was PLENTY of room for improvement and still room for plenty more
Another almost perfect RockStaff👍Just need to swap out that energy hog residential fridge for a far more versatile and efficient 12 volt fridge and match the slide out floor pattern with the main floor and 👍👍👍
Ok need some advice… well more like questions answered. We currently own a Jayco 1207 pop up trailer with a hitch weight around 190lbs. Our tow vehicle is a 2017 Kia Sorento 2wd with a max hitch weight of 350. It pulls our trailer like a champ with no problems. My question for you is we are looking to upgrade to a Jayco 154bh with a dry weight of 2645 with 335lbs hitch weight…. Would our car be able to do that and if so is it safe and responsible? Appreciate any help you can give us and keep the RUclips videos coming. We love them.
Chances are, that’s not a good pairing by the time you load of people in cargo. You may also check that campers GVW against your vehicles towing capacity. I suspect as soon as you get into or traditional hard sided campers you’re going to have a hard time finding something that works.
I chased down the floor plan photo.. Closed slide interior look see is appreciated.. HD 3/4 ton truck would be good here. Nice length for the basic UFP design.. Universal Floor Plan for many 5th wheel. My Featherlite car trailer has torsion axles under it. I like the axle design. Thanks
One big sink please! I really like this floor plan! The kitchen is fabulous and pop up power towers...bestill my heart! You know how much I detest under cabinet outlets in Azdell campers and how I'm a fan of the power towers! Good job Rock staff! Love the larger oven and the coffee bar area is aust for me! Glad there is no carpet. General question...when eliminating carpet, why do many manufacturers use the marine flooring rather than using matching flooring? I've just never understood why they don't just go ahead and use the matching floor that's in the rest of the RV that would just seem to make sense to me. Yes to a second a/c! Is that slide underbelly covering used on all the slide outs? Very nice RV!
Double sink for sure….we treat our under slide exposed flooring with a Thompson water sealer spray on every year to water proof as good as can be, but that plastic bottom is ingenious. So far, has worked great. Love the pop up outlets and wished more manufacturers used it religiously.
I am a single sink fan I can always pop open a collapsible bin to put in the sink to wash smaller items. But for the anything larger you cannot fit them in those double bowls they're just too small.
I really did not. Then I started looking. I was tracking how many subs per day I needed to hit 200k by the end of the year. And for two weeks I was gaining on that pace. Then Christmas hit and things cooled off. Started slipping Then the last two days something flared again and.. well.. here we are! :) It was a super nice surprise for sure
I think the word the manufacturer would say is. SHORTSTOCK , When I was in manufacturing this term came about quite often. Talking about the door pistons. I just can't imagine a door like that without one. No one could, that is just head knocking re duck you less dumb.
Well, I do know that those pistons are very expensive. As I noted b4, we used them in the marine industry. But they could at least use friction hinges, they would work almost as well for less than half the cost. They could loose a lot of deals just over a simple fix if cost is the issue.
I think we may have just found Our Next Rig. The numbers work for our tow vehicle (Silverado 2500), the layout makes sense, the storage (especially the exterior storage) is amazing, and the build quality looks top notch. Like you we prefer lighter interior tones versus the "HOA Approved Brown on Brown on Brown" schemes we've seen before. We'd also (most likely) go with a booth dinette although that's nowhere near a deal killer. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Josh, you seem to be able to get mfgrs to listen. I’d like to see a king size bed with a lot more than just a 2-step walkway around the bed. If you know of a brand that already does this, I’d appreciate knowing who they are. I’m looking for an EW king, teak seat in the shower, a half bath and under 40’ with room for my 3 Adult sized grands. I like your vids.
Sometimes. It depends. More room around a King is something a LOT of people would like to see. MFGs are hesitant there due to the extra length/weight/cost that quickly incurs "just for some room around the bed." Hmm... bath & a half under 40 feet isn't impossible but less common.. for room for 3 grands you likely want some kind of front living which makes the RV longer. I'm kind of scratching my head here. I feel like SOMEONE has to build that but.. I cannot think of anything offhand here
I must say I've always found the idea of "needing" a diesel to pull a given size 5th wheel kinda funny. Is the power a diesel offers nice? Sure, but the same motors in 1 ton gas pickup trucks have been powering gas motorhomes for forever. If it's good enough to move a 20,000+ pound class a motorhome and a toad it goes to reason it should do just fine with a 12k 5th wheel and 6k truck.
What a great 5th wheel. This one really bangs my shutters! I am good with a queen bed so I can have side stands. I would like bigger side stands with the queen. So, would probably just go ahead and get a king for this one. Beware of those pirates with belt buckles. Thanks Nerd!
Love the dining table with chairs, I would like a power recliner theater seat and 1 large sink I can make do with but I prefer 2 basin sinks so I can dry dishes in the sink after washing them - better yet a dishwasher!
I prefer a double sink. One to wash one to rinse the dishes. I like pop up power towers. I prefer a floor in the slide that matches the coach flooring, not a fan of marine woven or carpet in the dinette slide. Prefer a free floating table with one bench seat and 2 chairs. I like where the plugs are for the theater seat. Yeah larger fan in the bath, remotes a plus. Love the shower miser feature. Queen beds have less expensive bedding than a king, I'd rather have more walk around space and a side by side washer and dryer. Travel access stinks! I like where they hid the hot/cold outdoor shower. Not my favorite coach. I hoping you and your family had a wonderful magical awesome Christmas 🎄.
I am waiting for the RV world to re-embrace honey oak wood. At that point I will officially be old, and it will be time to retire. As to this unit, I love the destination use, but the travel use is for the birds. Not the end of the world, but you had better plan for it on travel days.
The wife and I like the booth dinette as it gives you a lot of storage plus an additional bed if needed. Don’t care much for the pop up electric plugs. Love the queen bed as it gives you more room to walk around the bed. Gassers usually can tow more weight than diesels! Go figure!
Farmhouse is overdone?!? Like brown hasn’t been. Even this one is full of beige (a shade of BROWN). The gray stuff has a brownish cast to it. I have seen lots of rv’s of many kinds where people have used white (REAL white, not off-white) when they remodeled and it opens up the interior and brightens magnificently!! Then the owner can decorate with any color they prefer. Just my .02 worth Signed, A brown hater.
Another great video from a content pro!! Josh, let me be (among) the first to congratulate you on topping 200K subscribers!! Thanks for all your hard work and here's to another great year of RV content!!! #nerdherd
This floor plan is a disappointment. Rockwood/Flagstaff evidently thought they should copy everyone else I guess. What I mean is they previously made the 8529CSB, in which they just reversed the theater seating and the TV. This gave you a camp kitchen behind the fireplace which is really nice. You also lose the behind TV storage and it's got the toe stubbing slide where as the other has a flush slide. Why you would rather do it this way is beyond me.
I love love love the windows!
TY Tammy
Love that the stove is not scrunched up to the side of the fridge. A pet peeve of mine.
👍🏻
Thanks for another great video!!!
My pleasure! Ty for watching :)

Door shade closing up is smart

full size bed

@@JoshtheRVNerd You're awesome, I'd be purchasing from you if I lived in the US
My wife says if the sink isn’t a large single basin it’s a deal breaker.
And if the wife says it... 😉
Do you have or do you review the Grand Design 150? I am seeking a 1/2 ton 5th wheel.
Sorry - which one? They make plenty of models
Here’s one though: m.ruclips.net/video/W2YrhN-UtSc/видео.html

The floor plan at the beginning is missing. As always, is it available WITHOUT the theatre seating?
...whoops lol
Usually Rockwood offers multiple seating swaptions. I *THINK* you could do a hide-a-bed here
I like dark because it doesn't show scuffs as easy.
👍🏻
Question, why do these beautiful RV's have that toe stub in front of the cooking space? I saw one model (I think it was Alliance) that did away with that. I mean really this would be an easy buy for me without that toe nubber stove stubber.
Some brands are moving away from that thankfully
Many still have the toe stub
floorplan???
Single basin is best
It's my preference as well
