Canadian Military "MRE" Individual Meal Pack (IMP) Field Ration Review Meal Ready to Eat Taste Test

  • The Canadian Armed Forces Individual Meal Pack is a fantastic military field ration. Like the MRE, the IMP has an outstanding shelf life; however, the quality of ingredients seem superior to our American Meal Ready to Eat. Canada's Southwestern Chipotle Chicken from 2019 was pretty excellent. The CAF certainly has a very tasty and comprehensive combat ration.

@@Gojiira That stuff is the perfect plug in your intestines. Don't shit for a week after eating two of them. True pain

Commonly you fill the bag it comes in with hot water. Add your main heat items (entree/dessert) and let it sit 10-15m. Pour out the water left for your coffee and by time you're done the rest of the water goes to the sport drinks.

The newest ones have that awesome cornbread, its like eating heaven (pro tip, put the pb in the hot water to make it soupy and squirtable from the bag)

    • @Gojiira
      @Gojiira Месяц назад

Another way to do dessert is crush the candybar in the big pack bag, add the nuts/berries mixture and or the berry jam or pb and make a real delicious mess to spork up

"Pain" is just the French word for bread, btw. Thanks for the review.

It’s pronounced “pan” not like I’m in pain like he says.

It only took me a few minutes of watching this to really like your style. Straight up, not too long, but including all the relevant content. I like it. You earned a sub.

I don't know if anyone ever told you, but "ice" beverage mix is meant to be like the various cool/frost flavours of sports drinks. Like up here in Canada Gatorade has a Cool Blue flavour, that kind of stuff.

Kit Kat uses two different chocolates for Canada and USA. A lot of chocolate bars with the same name, taste different in Canada, some better some worse.

Unfortunately it's hard to find canadian rations in Europe...just recently there were two IPs on Ebay, and they sold for nearly 50 Dollars...each

Something tells me that can definitely set back a mission and cause a wide array of ramifications if a group of soldiers or even one or two of them swallowed one of those right before or during a critical mission.

    Nice video.
The flavor of "ice" drinks or candies is frequently "arrack". The aroma can easily be made artificially.
Hint: "pain" on the bag is French for bread. Canadian IMP seem to have the captions in French and English for some reason - maybe to accomaodate French speaking Canadians..

In Canada, all labelling must be in both languages. The flavour of the drink is blue raspberry like the slush puppy. Or Gatorade

Typically anything labeled "southwestern" is a bit more spicy .. my experience in the u.s anyway.

I don't understand why canada doesn't switch over to using ounces and pounds. Its so much easier to understand. Be like the rest of us and use the normal measurements!

I don't get why they called it a pain hamburger meal. You can't really make a hamburger out of it. They should have called this a stew with peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Canadians are weird lmao
