Made by The National Film Board 1953. Directed by Lee Robinson. The coming of electric power to a rural district of NSW and the benefits derived from it by the farmer and his family.
What a wouderful short film I was so excited to see my Grandfather Morton Picker(Dadda). playing the spoons, dancing and singing on the back of the truck. I cant waitto show my mum, Marie Carney (nee Picker)I lived in Bigga until I was 14 years old with my parents and 7 sibblings.
@sunnyview1000 Fantastic! Has much changed in Bigga? I saw some photos of the school it almost looked the same. So glad you enjoyed the film and that it had special meaning for you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. This film was almost lost until a few years ago when we found a usable but very faded colour copy in our vaults. We have now preserved it so that it might be around for future generations of Bigganites.
