  • Sites of Forster in 1979. The block of flats where my parents stayed and the beach/rock pool across the room where we swam and fished. Head St including flats including New Dorchester, Tropicana, Nundah, Stella Maris, and (my favourites) Eros 1 and Eros 2. A good look at the front of the old movie theatre. In my time in Forster I recall seeing Khartoum (I thought dad said Cartoon), Patton, Dracula AD 72, and the Muppet Movie. No shots of "The Colony" I'm afraid.

Hi. Just wanted to say, this movie, and the one of your holiday in 1971, brought back memories. We used to travel from Bellingen and stay in one of the fibro rentals at the end of North St, and doing some fishing in the lake using one of the Red Spot hire boats (proprietor then was a chap called Chas). We found a few “caves” amount the rocks along the rock wall. Many an hour on the trampolines. Here is coincidence, we eventually moved to South Strathfield. If you have any more movies, would be good to view them. Thanks. Ray.

Thanks for the response. All my other memories are stills from 1962 through into the early 70s. Dad got the movie camera in 1971. Unfortunately he wore glasses but would lift them while photographing and adjusted the focus for his eyes. Hence there's a lot of out focus material! 🙂

Great video - thanks for sharing. Looking at Stella Maris, and the A N Silver (managing agent) sign out the front. My father bought the business around this time, to become Hilton Mason Real Estate. Cec and Lily were a lovely couple.

Dad worked with Cec at Tooheys. Mrs Parsons in her VW Bug was iconic.

@BrunswickHeadsHotel lol. I tried so hard to buy that superb bug, family wouldn't sell. It rotted away sadly.
