Hello, I am a beginner, I measure 165 cm and during my sparring I cannot break the distance with tall people, and I receive a lot of blows before being able to touch them, I wanted to know what we have to work on to manage to break the distance as you do
thanks a lot for your answer

Hey brother! I hear ya and thanks for the question. I def understand as it wasn't always and still isn't easy at times to break distance being the shorter/smaller fighter. Finding distance is a skill you have to actively work on while sparring in order to get better at it. One tip you can use is implementing sporadic level changes while moving forward on a taller fighter as they will have to focus on defending the body or head accordingly. At the same time you can use these level changes to also dodge punches while moving forward to close the distance. Note speed and timing are also going to be factors here*
While I know that is much easier said than done, keep in mind that you may be closer than you think when moving forward, so don't always look for the power shot. A punch landed is a punch landed even it's mostly or partially an arm punch. And lastly if you're receiving a lot of elbows to the head it's likely because you are staying at a lower level(most of the time) while moving in rather then coming in with different heights and or/ different angles.
      Hopes this helps brother!

hey boss, me and my people love your content and think you're a great fighter! we are about an hour away from the city and i was wondering if you would want to get some work in with a professional fighter that works with us. He was in our latest video and I think a sparring video would make for a beautiful spar. I think it would help both of us since we are very similar in size and both primarily post sparring. If you're willing to work something out in your free time that would be great. I could get one of my guys to record your footage if needed! Let me know where's the best place to contact you if you're on board 🙏

FriendlyBoxers and TrueFlow together? In one video? In one ring? Now THAT would be something!
