  • The world's largest airline by fleet size, American Airlines announced an order for 260 new planes, with options and purchase rights for an additional 193 aircraft. The new orders are the latest development in American's effort to expand premium seats across its narrowbody and regional fleets and prepare itself for continued growth across the airline's domestic and short-haul international network.

      They have 133 A319s, 48 A320s, 218 A321s and 70 A321neos, which equals to 469 A320 family aircraft.
      In comparison, they have 303 B737-800s and 59 B737 MAX 8s, which equals to 362 B737s.
