    Definitely ALWAYS be mad at the cheating partner, not the person who - in front of you at your request - tests their loyalty. Loyalty isn't a virtue - it's the bare minimum.

      Loyalty means shit, there's plenty reasons to step out on relationships.
      What is important is that you tell the other person and don't do this double dipping bullshit.
      Cheating is an issue.
      Ending a relationship that doesn't work is not.

    I feel bad for the people who don't want to swap phones, not because they're cheating, but for a variety of other reasons. Especially for people who have been in abusive relationships and/or dealt with trauma before, it can be really hard to relinquish that control and let yourself be vulnerable. Loyalty tests are funny to watch sometimes, but unless you actually suspect the person of cheating, it just seems toxic and controlling.

    • @raggaduxjones
      @raggaduxjones Год назад +7

      If you have nothing to hide, I don’t see the problem in swapping phones. But maybe that’s just because I’m an honest, up- front kind of person.

    • @MossyBallerina
      @MossyBallerina Год назад +27

      @Raggadux Jones it's less about having something to hide and more about trust/wanting control over your space. Maybe you have something on your phone that's a little bit embarrassing and you feel self conscious about it.
      Maybe you've dealt with controlling partners before, and someone forcing you to hand over your phone lest you be accused of cheating triggers the lingering pain from that. Maybe it stings that your partner can't just trust you when you've given them no reason to believe you're unfaithful.
      There's a lot of reasons why someone might be uncomfortable handing over their phone, even if they're honest and don't have anything to hide.

      Can confirm. As someone whos safety absolutely depended on shielding my online activities from psycho family (making friends and connections so i could get out when I hit legal age) - its definitely something that sticks with you for life. Its kind of an involuntary discomfort you get everytime someone looks into your phone/pc, even if you have nothing opened and no one is talking to you. Nevermind people picking up your phone, even if its turned off. It really sucks, like..really sucks. But its a thing for too many. Though for the record Id never look through someone eles phone either. I dont think it would be fair of me to demand someones device, if I myself feel uncomfortable about it

      @@raggaduxjones Also another possible point: a conversation always has 2 people minimum. Imagine confiding to your best friend about something horrible, telling them you're worried about a very embarrassing medical issue, worrying about money trouble, etc.... only to find out that the thing got out because their partner saw your text conversation. That's the reason I first think of when it comes to showing someone your conversations.

    My fiance disappeared with a gorgeous blonde during his bachelor party in Vegas. The best man started freaking out when he realized that fiance was no longer in the club. With the amount of money he (best man) was dropping for the vip table and bottle service he even had a security member looking. After 45 minutes of the best man panicking while muttering "Kelly is going to kill me!" they finally located my fiance.
    They had stepped outside the club to chat because of the noise and he was drunkenly telling the beautiful woman how excited he was to be marrying me and how I was the love of his life.
    This was the story the best man told in his speech at our wedding... It was also where I first heard it. All the others on the trip confirmed it happened. It has been 12 years and we are still together.

You don't always know the other person is loyal, you just take a chance for the sake of love. I have yet to meet someone I can trust as much as they can trust me. @@tammiep9628 I have no reason to question his loyalty and that thought would never even cross my mind. And neither would his, dare I say.
      You're touching upon the very gist of my previous comment: If there is even the slightest doubt in your relationship and you feel the need to subject your partner to such a test, then something is just not right and I personally would leave. Neither of the partners is a school kid needed to be tested. Problems are solved by talking, your partner should be the one to know about your insecurities first, not your friends.

      Exactly. He took his phone back & then refused to give hers back, dude it doesn’t belong to you. You’ve seen she’s messaging other lads, you know she isn’t loyal, so give her back her property & leave. Keeping hold of someone property after they say to give it back, that’s then classed as theft btw, as you’re withholding their property. I get the man is annoyed/hurt/betrayed, but that doesn’t give him any rights to still keep hold of her phone, especially when he snatched his back, yet was getting aggressive to keep something that didn’t belong to him. Withholding someone’s belongs from them is toxic & controlling, regardless of what they’ve done that doesn’t entitled you to keep things that aren’t yours. Give her the phone back & end the relationship. You can’t keep someone’s phone just coz you’re mad. When I found out my ex cheated, I made sure they packed all their belongings up & got the fuck out my house. I didn’t want any of their stuff around, or any reason for them to come around or even try to get me into trouble.

    If men need some hope today: the same week I met my partner who wasn't in a good financial situation and was going through a few hardships, someone tried to set me up on a blind date with a well-off guy who even booked a fancy restaurant for our 1st date. But since my partner already made it clear he likes me, he kissed me and I knew I liked him; I declined the date, told the 2nd fella he needs to cancel that fancy reservation and apologized to him. I'll be moving in with my partner soon. So, women don't always go for "the better" man.

    'When my circle got smaller, my vision got clearer, there is strength in loyalty, not in numbers' a quote that I believe in :) That is why I don't understand the people who have lots of 'friends' on their social media, they aren't really people you know, it seems that people have this need to be seen by strangers, so to me that means that these people don't love or like themselves very much, a few loyal friends aren't enough?? I have 14 friends, and I know them all :)

    So glad I’m in a committed relationship. I have absolute trust in my husband. No settling on either side. We aren’t perfect in any means. We have our disagreements and stuff but we can always count on each-other when it’s real. I can’t put into words what I want to everyone to know what we feel for each-other. Super frustrating. Hope y’all find that one special someone that makes you feel like you are the only person on the planet with them.

    This makes me appreciate my sweet husband even more. I've had some traumatic relationships in the past and sometimes I get insecure. But he's patient w me and does his best to reassure me that he's loyal. Ladies and gents, the good ones are out there. If you're lucky enough to find one hold for dear life and treat that man/woman like gold! Big love!

    Hell, during my senior year in high school i baited my own bf because i suspected he was cheating. Made up a fake FB account with tons of pics and what not, put the location as close to him. DM'd him for about 2 weeks as this girl (who said we had been to the same party and had some mutual friends). He was soooo into her, telling her (me) all kinds of stuff including a "no-no" pic. It was after that that i showed him everything and we broke up. Honestly, now as an adult (happily married now), i should have never played that game and just broke up with him when i suspected. There's always something legit when you feel that suspicion. Can't have trust, can't have love.

    Where I live it was really easy to get engaged at my grandma's time. If some friends believed a couple to be really cute it was simple as "hey, she said she likes you" to him and "hey, he said he likes you" to her. They started thinking about it and BOOM, engaged. It was the same as shipping couples on the internet, but with real effects.

    Gotta be honest, this one hurts a little. My dreams of a loyal, faithful, life-long love that grows over the years and nourishes generations of our family have been crushed and I am feeling as though life is passing me by.
    If one person thinks they are in a relationship, then both need to be honest. It may hurt a little but it will save you from a huge heartache later on. And for the love of dessert, don’t lie! Selfishness never did improve any relationship and just makes people feel used.

    I found out by accidentally that my ex was cheating on me with 5 of my coworkers through out our 2 1/2 yr relationship ( I’m not someone who talks about their personal life at work) I just happened to walk in when one of them was talking about a date she had been on with him. I was lucky that all of us never knew about each other but knew each other so we exposed him & all just sent him messages with all the womens names. He was playing all of us, unfortunately I was the one who had been played the longest! But if there were 5 at my work I just wonder how many more there were! I don’t hold anything against them as they weren’t the ones who made me any promises & we are all now really good friends which is the only positive thing that came from that relationship

    Those switch phone ones are so funny for me. I have a fiancé and I can check or use his phone any time. The only time he closed up some windows in his Chrome was before the weekend of our proposal. Turned out: he closed the sites he opened to find an idea about what type of ring he wants to find and wanted to keep it as a complete surprise. He is so chill about his phone that I can even watch tiktok, play games or watch youtube on it (since only he has infinite data). I am actually the same, he can even read my messages out loud, answer my phone or anything. I don't have secrets, I already closed the tabs with his xmas present ideas. XD
