I dont know if you will see this message but here it goes. I have been following you for several months but decided to look farther back at your videos. First I found your "get to know me" video and feel like we are good buddies already. I then found your video on the homemade pages and this journal video. I LOVE both and every technique you used to complete this journal (even the "hard" ones lol). So thank you. I am off to make some handmade papers.

Natasa, another great video! To get rid of the paper sticking out of the top, I have used sand paper. Just wrap the sand paper around a block and sand it off! This has worked well for me, hope it helps.

Great tutorial. I love this art journal. Thank you for posting.
I finally finished two art journals and thanks to your tutorial everything went as planned. I must say they are pretty nice. I found a trick for distressing the edges of the signature. I couldn’t get my hands on a distressing tool in time to finish my project. I didn’t want to use the scissor method either because I’m quite accident prone and I couldn’t use the water method because I didn’t have enough time to dry the pages... so I looked around the house and found my old trusted kitchen grater. I used the tiny diamond side then holding all of the pages of the signature together I was able to distress all 3 sides in less than 2 minutes.

Thank you so much for letting us download your instructions - so well organised and generous!! Just a minor suggestion for your benefit and ours - it would also be great to include the link/URL to this video on the download, so we don't lose it and maybe even include your contact details, including Etsy etc, especially if one of your videos/tutorials would benefit greatly for giving us direct links to your, or other's products on Etsy, or images, or FB groups etc :).... back to watching now!! (and I LOVE that faux paper - the possibilities you show give us seemingly endless world's of uniqueness and fun! I enjoy watching the unique talent's of so many great crafters up here, thank you for being one of them! :)

    • @MeganMcCar

Watched and loved! You're a fantastic teacher, very detailed, thorough and interesting all the way. Roughly sketching out how you want your project to look is also another great technique, and I'll be adding it to my 'future' Projects workbook folder, hehe. Your creations and ideas are outstanding and I'm looking forward to watching more.
This is a simple yet beautiful journal especially with the faux handmade paper cover - loved that tutorial too - what a fantastic idea! I love how you did the water paper edging, and technique for breaking that dreaded 'blank page syndrome' too! Definitely going to make one or more of these for myself - they could also make great gifts.
I might also try making a 'mixed bag' art journal where several types of papers are included in the one art journal and it could be used for many types of media - eg include some paper/linen canvas for acrylics, watercolour paper, sketch-grade paper, fabrics for textile creations, book papers/cardstock for collaging, vellum for pen and ink etc, wax paper etc for gel printing, marker paper, pastel papers, coloured papers, thin/thick and so on - the list goes on, if that makes sense :)
In fact, this has inspired a lot of additional ideas and I'm excited. Thank you so much :)

I'm loving these handmade books more and more. ❤️ Just love the creativity and inspiration involved in the making of them, although at the same time, it's kind of frightening in that you're sharing/exposing a piece of yourself to potential criticism and/or ridicule.
