I was there. It was a sick party. For the critics on here, a few points - it was pretty packed on the floor and in what was a really MASSIVE space, so a little hard to dance. I was actually chilling on the balcony levels for the B2B. Bad track selection? Subjective obviously. But I will say, Dubfire solo fuckin' rocked, amped up the energy after an electro-ish set by TIGA, and Jamie played how I'd expect him to - kinda groovy and funky. Off the bat I'd say Dubfire 2017 doesn't really fit with Jamie Jones, but don't forget Dubfire of Yoshitoshi and Deep Dish was solidly in the house/deep house/progressive house scene before entering his darker techno phase. And as far as really dancing (plus having the space for it before it got crowded), Honey Dijon around 11 PM knocked my f'ing socks off with some funky-ass tracks and good DJ skills.. all in all, Brooklyn Mirage now is a tremendous venue, if you can't tell on the video. It's like a more laid-back outdoor club of Ushuaia scale.
I like when DJs with different styles join to play together. Most of the times, just like this one, the result is not good, but sometimes you can get amazing results. I think that the problem is that neither Jamie nor Dubfire changed their style to adapt it to the other DJ, or they failed in the attempt. That's why I was amazed by the amount of DJs that Carl Cox played b2b during Space's closing season and always with amazing results. Cox is a DJ that can adapt to almost any style, and that can only be achieved by real legends.

For people saying the crowd looks dead ive never been or seen another party that looks any different anywhere in the world. Brooklyn mirage is easily the best venue in the east coast and probably the best in the US. People look for anything to complain. I see videos in other parts of the US and especially europe where 95% of the crowd is video taping....
Its not the music in the venue, its the crowd. Music is an experience to take part in and enjoy, not a passive one like watching a tv or movie. Look at crowds at these live sets through the years here in the USA. Every year, the crowd has slowly grown more sedentary and facing towards the DJ instead of moving and dancing. Weird phenomenon i dont know how or why itnhappened
I don't agree with some comments stating the the mixing was bad, actually the transition between tracks is amazing. I do agree that the track selection is not something out of this world, probably if they were going for something housy there were lots and lots of better tracks to play. Of course wen can expect better from them.
Im ok with this set. If your going to plays a 90s B2B set, it's not going to be clean. But what I assume why people look like zombies is because everyone is expecting massive build ups and break downs. Not happening. Also Dubfire will go the Deep Dish route and Jamie with the tech, so might not mesh well but I appreciate it.
There is a song at 36 minutes in that is Funky Green Dog's From Outer Space - Reach For Me. Your time stamp just leads me to the beginning of the video.
was there, jamie played for 2 hours before the b2b set and it was absolutely amazing and high energy. Dubfire was just real lowkey all night and personally i didnt enjoy his set at all. Then after jamies set they went back to back at around 2am. Not so great, dubfire just can't mix like jamie.
Different styles can of course sound well together, do not know what all of you are talking. In former times and also in this times the cool fuckin real deejays always put a great Repertoire on styles together in one set, on one part darker one The other uplifting, groovy , stomper or however you would like to call it. For example sven vaeth in a long set plays evrrything from house electronic techno to trance and it is and was almost great. And there are also deejays who play very wild in their sets, goin through 5 styles in less than 20 min and it fits, the most important thing thing is : Groove rollin, and a deejay who's with the crowd and who is really into it so that he affects his audience.
Wow i was hoping for some 90s Chicago classics. Not many here that i enjoyed. Track selection was horrible. 1:44:00 Was the worst track ive ever heard play live. wow NOT 90s HOUSE AT ALL! come on man
tomi soundsgood because it was super packed, and they have cable running right through the middle of the dance floor. Towards the back a bit there's people dancing, but it was just really packed
