The inaugural CRSSD Festival in San Diego had Southern Californian scene buzzing with the prospect of the biggest names in the underground noising up the languid San Diego Waterfront. Maceo Plex, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Kaytranada and many more are all threw down massive sets last weekend (March 14-15). Don't miss it next year.

First tune from Troxler was a massive sunset vibe, kind of wanted more of that!
The fusion of Patrick Topping & Green Velvet - When Is Now and Mathew Jonson - Decompression at 50 min is pretty good, but it is the continuous psychotic jingle that is layered over it that makes it superb. Something so simple yet it makes the amalgamation go...adding an atmosphere of dissonance. Easily the finest moment of the set imo...pure magic!

Jamie had better tunes + mixing here overall here i think. Troxler playing some fairly mainstream ‘safe’ tunes. JJ always pushes the envelope in his sets, that’s why he’s one of the best.

they both are amazing DJs ...it's not about comparing them!
I'm not really comparing. But you can definitely tell the difference in skill and track selection as well as crowd reaction. Also, troxler made quite a few mistakes (which is in essence the beauty of live DJ'ing) however some of them were unforgivable eg: when troxler just dropped it to a different track and then looked blankly at Jamie as if to say "oops" which in turn made them have to work harder to build that mood up again. Etc etc
David Hyde I totally agree.. and unforgivable is the right word lol. aside the mistakes troxler made, he seems often to break the flow badly, which also makes jamie can't play as good as usual. I can see jamie is really struggling to fix troxler's mistakes soo many times. their style is just totally different, honestly I'm quite surprised they can b2b. and yeah the crowd's reaction is saying it all lol.
Shamir Djamaluddin Yes i agree. Don't get me wrong, Troxler is a seasoned professional. But some B2B's just don't work. This is a clear example of that. They both have very different styles and you can clearly notice the flow change once the new track is to come in, mainly on Jamie trying to steer the direction from Troxler's somewhat obscure tunes.
