I read about Frank Morris’ escape from Alcatraz when I was around eight years old, and then proceeded to forget all about it until this episode. Then they showed the Golden Gate Bridge in the background, and it all came back to me.They did a pretty accurate job portraying it too.
as soon as i saw the boat i remembered the mythbusters episode, spot on
I learned about it on a Thoughty2 video on RUclips like 2 days before this episode. The second I saw that paper head in the bed I knew what was going on.
The big theory is that Mobius is a single dad because of the Snap. He is definitely in that tine frame during the Blip.
I also love that Casey was Frank Morris. What a random time factoid.
Yes, Loki meets him in 2022, four years into the 5 year time span between the Snap and the Return.
How does this ending not fill you with excitement?? He's back!! Loved it
Mobius has two sons, one who’s mischievous and like to destroy things, the other, who likes snakes, has to keep his brother in check.
Is Mobius an Odin variant?
I don't think so. But surely explains why Mobius had a sweet spot for Loki and his story. Why he could see past the "TVA nuisance", past the villainous deeds so well.
Even tho they got mind wiped, they seemed to retain elements of their personality.
I'm pretty sure the one with the orange shirts is supposed to be Loki in the TVA in the jumpsuit threatening to burn it down, and the one in the teal shirt is meant to be more like Sylvie.

I felt like Mobius was supposed to represent a better father figure. He called him on his issues and flaws, but helped him work through them and use them to do better (like their plan to trick Brad into confessing). He helps him be better, but be better as _himself_ not just "be like me and Thor, do things this way".
He's Odin if Odin had been like "I accept that you're a bit psycho, but lets figure out _why_ you're a bit psycho, and how to do better as the person you are". Sorry, Odin was an awful dad
No. But he is a reflection of that aspect of Loki's life.
Love the parallel between Mobius' kids and the Odinsons. Explains why he had a sweet spot for Loki, even if he couldn't remember his sons. Not only is he a small business owner, but we also meet him during the snap (blip was 2023). Wonder if his wife got snapped >
well, there's nothing saying the Snap occurred in his timeline, but it's possible!

@@RBernsCarter Snap was 2018, dude. Hulk snapped them back to life in 2023. So 2022 would be in the middle of it.

The reason being is that the SAG strike ended in time for them to react to the Loki season 2 finale as it went up - they've since gone back and uploaded all the ones they missed. Like a big snake eating its own tail...

Interesting that Casey was one of the Alcatraz escapees who was never seen again. Also interesting is that B-15 was in NYC around the time of the Chitauri invasion. I have a theory that the employees of the TVA were abducted moments before they would have died or disappeared without a trace as taking people in that situation wouldn't cause a branch.

But if they were taken in situations like that, they'd be the actual people, not the Variants. And it's been said that the TVA workers are all Variants, meaning they are from branched timelines.

@@loganbigmo Keep in mind the "unreliable narrator" trope. Sylvie and Loki _assumed_ *all* TVA people were variants. But when I first saw that Hunter C-20 had lived in precisely the area and time of the Alabama superstore which got destroyed in that apocalyptic hurricane-flood in 2050, I suspected a lot of them might simply have been "recruited" out of apocalypses where they would've died in a way the bodies were never recovered (flood, tsunami, fire, explosion).
In that way, the TVA can mass-recruit people even from the strands of the Sacred Timeline (remember, even the Sacred Timeline is not one single strand, but all its strands follow the same storyline) without having to wait for a nexus event branch to pick a single time deviant from. Not to mention not all variants would be recruitable in the first place, as the TVA seems to prefer to recruit human-(shaped) people, not robots or superpowered beings that would be hard to control or a threat to others (Frost Giants, vampires etc), or aliens unable to survive in an oxygen atmosphere, or aliens unable to physically fit into the furniture (like the Titan Thanos, or a Frost Giant, or a centaur, or a sentient gas cloud), or people who are simply too annoying to be recruitable, like the Wall Street guy who got pruned in front of Loki's eyes in S1Ep1.
They still become "variants" the moment they are plucked from their timeline, since they can never go back as the story demands they are dead, yet here they are.

Guys Loki is only an Asgardian by adoption, he's a Frost Giant.
He is half Frost Giant on his father's side, half Aesir ("Asgardian") on his mother's side. Frigga _is_ his mother. Why do you think Odin went to war with the Frost Giants of Jotunheim, or knew exactly where to go to find that unusually "small for a frost giant" baby. A baby which instantly shapeshifted into an Aesir shape/skin colour when Odin touched it. Or why both Odin (the god of war and battle and magic) and his wife agreed to adopt a "random" frost giant baby.
This ep was amazing, but seeing Casey as Frank Morris was absolutely my favorite part. Incredible
I watched "Escape From Alcatraz" when I was 8 years old and as soon as Casey pulled that grate off i was like, "Is that Alcatraz?"
They dropped the needle on that Velvet Underground track and I was Sylvie there for a moment. Dang that hit hard, this show man.

Also, speaking as a Pennsylvania Dutch descendent whose grandparents would make scrapple when they butchered hogs (my grandfather actually wrote a book called Butchering : A Complete Guide to Home Style Hog Butchering) when I was in the single digits for age, I immediately began laughing hysterically at the scrapple shirt. That's a whole lot of effort for a joke like 99% of the viewers will miss.

I think that originally there was only one timeline - all natural - then supernaturals started messing around - the war - then Kang got into the mix made a loom and kept up a prune regime to keep it working effectively - and now Loki - out of his desire to please all - keeps the whole thing going to become a infinite loom - a tree
Well, we know from Loki S1E6 that originally there were indeed multiple timelines; the Multiverse existed from the beginning of time.

Since you already watched the finale, it's not a spoiler to let you know that Loki did not become the god of stories, as so many people rush to every comment section to claim after watching Erik Voss get it wrong. Instead, either day the Infinity Abyss comic or go to Comics Explained channel to understand why he's not the god of stories, not "a version of" the god of stories, but instead, he's now actually the Custodian of the Multiverse. A rule that is basically a battery pack for the multiverse, but that can't actually create or alter timelines, but also can't leave his station without them all falling into the cosmic abyss. People keep arguing against this information, but it's dead on.
I believe even crew on the show referred to that moment as Loki becoming the God of Stories

The two boys of Mobius are actually Owen Wilson’s kids according to the writer of the series.
Actually they aren’t… their names are Caleb Johnston-Miller and Blake Johnston-Miller….and Owen’s kids are named Ford and Finn…. 30 second google search and checking IMDB…
I hope theres a season 3. I really want to see Thors reaction to this Loki showing up. Particularly the Thor that seen him die by Thanos. His last words "you will never be a God" then have him return as something higher tier than the Gods themselves.

Chances are his two sons are classic siblings, always bickering, and they only call dad to remotely arbitrate. He knows why they are calling and that no matter how many times he plays referee it will just encourage more of it.
This entire MCU Phase involving time and multiversal travel has been a slippery slimy, wibbly wobbly, timey wimey exercise in trying to staple Jello° to a tree, except there is no tree, the stapes are made of pasta and Jello° hasn't been invented yet. The 6th episode was released first , jay is literally part of the sag aftra union ,and adam wants to be , most of the reactors who watched loki and ahsoka are just supporting the unions so their guidelines for what they shouldn't be covering were less strict , and the strike is over so now they can release everything , and the boys started covering jeapordy and animation like rebels , it wasn't limiting in a bad way ,but now the real fun begins
Jay is in SAG and therefore they weren't allowed to upload reactions during the strike. So they recorded these as the episodes were coming out, and now that the strike is over, they're releasing the epeisodes.
