I only have issues on blight ravaged maps, but ya my pc is $3500 with a 3090 and 5950x, there's no excuse for any lag. Game shouldn't make a mode that lags any pc regardless of specs. Atleast make it less mobs or something.. fix you're fuxking game ggg!
Using nvidia? Go to nvidia settings and set it to default fixed it for me. Can't accept the fact that I'm using a 4080 and getting absurd fps drop lol. Crappy driver update from nvidia might have caused this.
I've had blight maps on a summoner go down to 1fps and stay there as I hit summonskele every ten seconds until the map is over or I die and it instantly stops lagging
Performance issue had definitely became a problem more recently, by that I mean the performance is declining, at least for a year, considering my PC isn't that bad. Texture not loading for a solid few seconds whether it's in town or in maps happens so frequently.
I did uber boss carries this league, on a very low end pc. It was mostly fine, but sometimes, at random, I would get massive and HORRENDOUS performance dips. Doing ubers at 3fps is not fun. Made me switch from a relatively squishy quick killing build to a super tanky, slower one, just so I wouldn't randomly fail carries.
I am saving up for a mega computer (my definition). When I get it, finally, I won't have performance issues, right? GGG: I won't having performance issues, right? GGG: 😉
Dude ngl I'm considering doing the same. Was talking to Schwingy the other day and asked him for his setup cuz the recordings in his videos are honestly pretty clean.
My old rig was 16gb ram + gtx 1070 ti + ryzen 1700x was having some issue back then and lot of people in game and in discord were telling me that its on my side. I finally upgraded to ryzen 3700x + 64gb ram 3200mhz + rtx 3060 ti. Im still getting the same issue. whenever I bootup the game the fps drops especially in delirium maps its not like that before I need endure the crappy gameplay for about 1-2hr. Im glad that someone talked about this issue.
Yea I've had to just stick to my RFJugg because he will still be standing when the frames drop and I get 7k last spike. I've had a few times that a trade didn't go through because I've either dropped when entering someone else's hideout or trying to enter my own. Also, those new "fire wings" are the worst. They look so cool, but anytime it takes me an extra 10 seconds to load into my hideout it's almost always because the other player loaded in first and he had those fire wings on.
I've actually noticed the same thing for me. Currently, I'm just rolling with the Iridescent Weapon effect from Kalandra league and playing with default gear. Not exactly the prettiest, but being flashy doesn't exactly help out my visual performance too much rn
I unironically run no mtx. Have for a few years now, which has definitely made me sour on them. Don't buy anything but the tabs from time to time, which I imagine is true for a lot of people who would otherwise spend a little more on this game.
Did you post this on the Reddit? This issue has been terribly noticable for the last 2--3 leagues. If they had an Ultimatum mechanic again I don't know if I could do it with as bad as it's been.
I had the missing texures and mobs. Apparently it was linked to certain mtx. I swapped my mtx and swapped to dx12. If was still far less efficient than my past vulkan performance but I managed a stable frame rate and the no more missing stuff. They changed how the engine displayed things half way through 3.21. They mentioned they were leaning on the gpu more than the cpu now If I recall correctly. what ever they changed it's not in a good state for sure. (Ryzen 5700X & 6700XT)
do you experience your mini map not acting up? for example - i have had icons, multi colour shading and even the mini map stopping. anyone else had this issue?
I had a stuttering problem when I started the game, I discovered that it was a bug in the multithreading configuration, the solution found was to create a power plan with c-state of the cpu disabled which is to manage the amount of energy that the individual processor cores are using, this power mode causes the processor to be at 100% use all the time, so it is necessary to have good cooling or reduce clocks, the result was smooth gameplay as butter. I also created a bat that runs in the background that checks if I'm playing the game that switches the power mode to high performance and the version I created.
The problems began magnified in the lasts weeks of Crucible, when engine update My build was totem kinetic blast poison, ancestor league is IMPOSSIBLE for me to play it, the game simply refuses to run, I have been playing it since I can remember as well as mine/totem kinetic bolt. It happens on d4 and everyone loses their minds, it happens on poe and it's just another anecdote
It could be the case that when it happens in D4, it actually affects everybody - whereas with PoE, it's almost always been the case that there's a large group of players that experiences performance problems, and another large group of players where everything works perfectly fine. So it becomes a little more difficult to figure out if these performance issues occur due to outdated hardware, poorly optimized software, or players just using the wrong configurations, etc.
The patches right before ancestor league was that they shifted the engine to be poe 2 engine that utilizes gpu. People with older specs suffer so much since and it includes me. I really hope they revert it
its kinda crazy when i think about it, when i got my new pc like 7y ago i could play poe with stable 50-60fps on 4k with setting on high no problems (was playing on 25xx*xxxx for the most part cause 4k was stuttering sometimes and i was also streaming) over the years it got worse and worse slowly since the last 2-3 years i play on lowest settings and just full hd and the game still dosnt run that good, with the recent league it wouldent even run anymore on dx11, dx11 and lowest settings would be like 20-40fps and crazy stuttering (in the fucking campain with nothing really happening) the only thing that worked for me was using dx12/lowest settings/fullhd/vsync ON/tripplebuffeing ON/ and also vync and tripple buffeing (in my nvidea settings) i almost quit too but with this settings i got like 60 most of the time and if shit gets real maybe it drops to 40-50 but its playable (if i dont play a build thats fps intensive than i literally cant play it) kinda stopped streaming poe too since it already laggs without stream and on low settings.. i think it started to become really bad when they did this "performance enhance patch for bad pcs" or somehting since then it got worse and worse every league for me. kinda felt like they tryd to make it run smoother on super bad pcs and somehow made it perform worse on the avarage pc (and the highend dont care anyways because they can compensate for that) as a general tipp just try anything out u can think of, even stuff that dosnt make sense, computers are weird sometimes. (like i tryd "intelligent standby list cleaner") still using it idk if it even helps or not, or different drivers for the gpu / high performance mode / setting the chache limit or whatever it was to 100k / idk prolly a few other things, point is i cant even remember if somehting of that helped or not but somehting i did fixed it for the most part, could be even stuff like turning off the sound in poe. another small tipp: dont use this settings that scale down ur stuff to almost pixles (at least if it runns kinda stable without) if this feature turns itself on/off all the time that could lead to stuttering too. dont give up, if you really try u prolly find a fix to it (like me and most other ppl) cheers
the game is loading textures normally for me but first few seconds when i enter new zone the video quality drops to like 240p and in like 5-30sec time it goes back up to what my settings are
Same for me, horrible performance. There also seems to be an issue with engine multithreading, huge lag spikes with it enabled. Also, can't run the game in fullscreen it keeps reverting to a lower resolution :-/
Currently I'm getting 20-45 fps idle, was better earlier today, or just more stable. Something that is "different" this league is desyncing through entire sections of maps, as if the server just reset the actions I took during combat. I was fighting near that big skull that spawns the bosses in the Affliction mechanic and got a free no cost server provided Temporal Rift reset via desync directly through to the other side of the area. I've also had this happen while in the Crematorium I think it was, I teleported through 1-2 solid walls.
Perhaps the patch that made the game more GPU-heavy might have increased VRAM requirements, and the many players that were just below that threshold now suddenly find the game unplayable? This is all speculation, but not having enough VRAM on your GPU for a game is often so bad for performance and stability some games (like Doom Eternal) won't even allow you to use settings that cause VRAM usage to go above your GPU's limit. For those that don't care how the game looks and are having issues I believe there are ways to change settings outside of the game itself to make it super potato mode to run smoother. Not a great solution but it could be worth looking into.
I play on a laptop. It has an i9-12900H which turbos to 5GHz which is insane. I just disable turbo using ThrottleStop and it helps a lot in preventing thermal throttling. It does noticeably prevent stuttering.
i understand if i have a juiced map with 3 overlapping mechanics that im lagging but when im having big stutters fighting veritania or minotaur i just dont fucking get it
for my experience, i found the slowness happen just before the patch for November event .. i just could not play the game smoothly.. it was lagging at 10 to 15 fps while previously it could run at 30fps ... ggg please help
6:35 Rarely my GPU gets "stuck" in the low power mode when not gaming and tabbed out of poe (limited background fps 1), when I open poe the gpu is at 400mhz and performs ass. running something else like a youtube video fixes that and the gpu boosts normally again
I'm playing on a ryzen 5800x amd rx5600xt 4x8gb 3200mhz and a nvme 1tb for OS and in addition I have a 2.5 500gb ssd dedicated to only poe and pob and I still have those nasty lag spikes since the last update
Ironically PoE2 might actually run better because the engine will be much more modern and polished, while the PoE1 engine is still kind of based on a foundation thrown together by three guys in a garage in 2009.
DX12; Turn Global Illumination to default, the one without lighting; Make sure Dynamic Resolutions scaling is on. That fixed the issues for me. My issues stemmed from having a 47' monitor playing at a very huge resolution. There are definitely optimization issues going on with the client but it seems these two settings make the biggest impact. And my system is by no means a potato.
This last league performance seemed okay outside longer loading screens but was fixed later on. After coming back from a month break I noticed artifacting while playing, which ive never experienced before. Sometimes to the point where 70% of the ground is missing/blinking.
I picked up PoE for the first time recently and really liked the game. Sadly every now and than, seemingly at random i get very bad latency spikes, where i normaly play at around 12 ping or so the latency spikes up to almost 1k ms and just keeps on going up and down like you have really bad lag. Ive read that its an instance thing but for me it seems to literally be random and even restarting the game doesnt work. On the other hand, i am very sure its not on my end because i have never had any unstable connection problems nor do i currently have any, outside of PoE
can anyone tell me wt exactly the 3.22 graphic patches about..... not only the screen loading time increased by a lot but also made the game crashed constantly with the same setting i use before the patches. I can now only play with the lowest resolution but still encountering crashes a lot...
I play perfectly on a toaster with 16gb ram, amd fx6300 cpu and an Nvidia 750ti 2gb, mostly minimal settings. After the patch the game was unplayable, it was solved after deleting all the game caches and using Vulkan instead of DX11.
I remember when the game ended DX9 support with no warning. Also the last league that had good performance was the one with forbidden masters, I dont remember the name anymore. And by good I mean that the game was generally running allright but encountering league mechanic caused massive 1-5 second freezes. Because the game had to load everything on the spot (instead of having any sort of preloading, which they added later) After that the game would get massive performance hit patch-to-patch while nothing really got upgraded from my point of view. New water physics? Cool, didnt ask, 30 fps less. It is expected for such a long lived game but for example WoW's engine aged much better. Not only the graphics are timeless, it also runs very well. You cant say that about PoE.
For me it always helps to disable sounds entirely. Not 100 to 0, literally putting "false" in the value section. Sorry Kamil (OST creator) - your work might be stellar, but you can thanks GGG forcing people's hands and make it impossible to enjoy your work...
is it server related? i am on the Texas server and i do not experience any of this and i am running maps where you would see it. i also run on wifi which is not ideal but pull around 100mbps on it.
If you're using an Nvidia card, go to Nvidia settings and set it to default (Restore). This fixed it for me for some reason. I even tried reinstalling my graphics driver using DDU but still had the same issue, but for some reason just setting nvidia settings to default solved it.
I use DX12 and I have 4060 12700KF 32GB NVMe SSD. I think the FPS is still way too low and with VSYNC on under heavy loads it will lock it self to 30fps until the load lessens. Must be something wrong in the sauce and there are lots of small problems with other apps and so on. Doesn't seem to load stuff right.
Throtling you GPU or CPU because of thermal issue would only be a bandaid fix on an actually bad hardware configuration or whatever els is causing overheating (dust buildup / poor contact) thermal throttling might cause stuttering but by artificially limiting load you might get rid of the stutter when the throttle occurs but you will end up with less performance in general ... it deffinetly does not make things "better" it migh only prevent dips in performance which some people mighht percieve better. Ultimately if your PC thermal throttles its not the applications fault, if your cooling system cannot handle 100% extended load.
I know this video is old but has anyone been experiencing some bizarre issues with the game lately on PS5? Or I guess just in general? Because I’ve played this game for a long time and never once had these issues I’m having now and I have no clue what’s going on. But for whatever reason there seems to be delay with like everything I do and every input I make in the game. I don’t think it’s a network issue either cause my wifi has always been fine and my other games I’ve tested seem to be just fine. But everytime I load up the game and try to play I have this problem now and it makes playing nearly impossible. Did they do an update patch that screwed things up or like…what?
I wanted to reengage with the leauge after playing the D4 season. After minutes of loading screens i quit. Legauestart was really bad - and the Patch during D4 Season made it way worse. Idk if i can play affliction if i have 1min++ loading screens for each instance change.
Two things that is important about POE: 1) this is a cpu intensive game, better the cpu is, better will be your framerate and everything related around it 2) depending on your graphic card, using the exact same settings with Directx12, or 11 or Vulkan will give you different numbers: take the time to switch renderers and see what's best for you. oh and maybe 3) Be sure in the 'Detail Settings' to set 'Lighting' to 'Shadows (Default)'. Using the setting 'Shadows + Global Illumination' will *greatly* reduce performances.
I had really long load times for town and maps (like 30 seconds +) which was really annoying, and strange since I have a fast SSD. I also would get weird corruption on the screen every once in a while that would force me to reload the game. I finally changed the renderer from Vulcan to DX12+ beta, and that definitely reduced my load times, and I don't see the corruption anymore either, though my frame-rates dropped a bit. I'm running an Intel 4 core CPU and an Nvidia 2 GB graphics card.
I had insane issues early league, like the first patch in. I would get 2k ping every 5 seconds or so just unplayable spikes. The next parch fixed it thankfully but i know alot of others were facing issues after mine was fixed
Yo. It's good that video such as this was created. I have terrible issues with POE for some time (getting worse with upcoming new leagues). PC is good, fps is of course s*it, but the main issue is constant cpu spikes (from xx MS to even few thousands) which causes massive few second lags after which I'm pretty much dead. Shader/drive bars always filled up. I've tried almost ALL of the "smart fixes" from the web, power managment, c-states etc. Nothing helps. The game at this state is unplayable for me. It's strange that only some of the players have this kind of problems and others (even with worse PC) do not. Just bought an m2 disk and hope for the best.
Just installed poe after a 3 year break. But the performance made me uninstall instant. Back than I had x5650 4.1ghz and 1070 it was ok to enjoy the game but now i cant even get 100fps in my hideout with a 5800x 4.85 allcore and a 4070.
Anyone have the phenomenon with legion where - when you click it and all the dudes spawn in stasis, the game is BUTTERY smooth for like 4/5 seconds then back to shit.
Honestly GGG needs to really work on this. People with the best components consumers can get are getting sub 10 fps in a lot of instances because of their engine. Frankly, it is embarrassing. It is 10000000000000000000% GGG's fault despite what some hot takes try to tell people when offering technical support.
I know I don't have a high end computer but to be fair this league was the worst for some reason, loading screens, missing textures, lag spikes when there wasn't a lot of mobs on screen. But I'm a patient man and know a lot of this is on my PC and slow internet. The worst feeling about all this was trading. In a game where time is of the essence for everyone, this league had me create a macro to apologize for the 30-45s loading screen when going in other players hideout. Really felt like wasting other players time.
Isn't it the e cores problem for intel? I heard that the scheduler have a bad habit of throwing games in there and causing shuttering until they use a program to force it to not use them.
Im never bound by cpu gpu or ram. If im downloading or doing something else network intensive in the background, or if someone else on my wifi is doing something similar, poe performance is awful. Perfect network conditions result in perfect performance in my case. Game is immensely network intensive for some reason.
Anyone saying "oh its just this change that," first ty for some tips, they do tend to help, but honestly, when you can play far more graphically complex games than this with no issues, it is pretty obvious the problem is POE itself.
they upgraded engine due to Poe2 some thing related , and it killed the performance , I was able to kill Uber Sirus on Xbox series S , now it's so laggy it's impossible .
This video is irrelevant if you don't say your exact specs. I've been running PoE on 2500k and 4 GB RX 570 till the end of last year. It was bad in juiced maps but I have never complained as I understood you can't expect wonders. I feel like most of the people do the opposite. Now I am on XTX and 13600k and I limit my FPS instead. But perhaps the fact that I have switched to Linux had its role too. Maybe it's also about Windows to a degree too.
I recently "downgrade" my computer, retired (and sold it for second hand, but that's not important) my i5-7500 + GTX1060 6g, for a miniPC with AMD's new 7840hs cpu, and yes that's a intergrated GPH 780m, original thought is, since I only play POE and in the future POE2 and some indie games with my girlfriend, I don't need better PC. But the reality is, what 1066 cannot handle, AMD 780m performed a hell lot better even in theory it shouldn't even be possible, 780m at full power consumption is like mobile 1650, not a desktop 1060 with 6g vram, but it did. What you said about clutters and shading refresh, I had all with 1066 but not at all right now, it suggested this is not exactly on the game side, but it's more on the support to different platform side, or what's usually called optimizing.
2060S + 9600KF, 16GB 3800 CL-16 RAM. After 1-2 maps have 40-50 FPS even in HO, 20-30 on next fresh map. Close and reopen game helps on this 1-2 next maps, tried all the things that i coud google, nothing halped :(
I just find it hilarious that i could pop turbo juiced 8 mod maps with 70% pack size from scarabs and atlas tree nodes, hit an expedition inside of it and only see a brief slowdown for half a second in 3.21. I come back in 3.23 and its a fucking joke. 1 to 2 min to load into some areas, loading into maps and having tiles of textures missing, etcetc.
Cache is broken on dx12 and vulkan thats why EVERYONE have problems... no one runs dx11 anymore even tho its the only one that dont have 30-60 sec loading time
I have a 2080ti nvidia graphics card and I 9900 processor. I forget how much ram but I remember it seemed like a lot. My pc runs cool but game still playing like shit these days. Weird part is my graphics card doesn’t even have to turn on the fan. But when I play borders lands 3. It runs smoother and graphics card fan does run. So I’m confused
Yeah I had terrible performance issues since the very start and also previous league it was already pretty terrible at one of the last patches of the league like 3 weeks till the end game got really laggy and I couldnt play anymore. I am pretty sure I am going to be unable to play affliction too. Well, at least I am working on myself tho
To add my 2cents to this topic. The worst area to load into with the most graphical glitches is the Rogue Harbour by far. Clearing a juiced up Altar with heaps of mobs and explosions going off left and right also feels like edgeing the engine. In regular mapping I'm rarely noticing big issues, but this league I've particularly noticed missing textures (floor tiles) here and there. I would consider my PC to be high end: RTX 3080Ti, Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 32GB 3800MHz RAM, SSD with 7.000 MB/s read/5.300 MB/s write. For people with issues playing with Intel, maybe PoE doesn't play well with P/E-Cores. You could try limiting the poe.exe to specific CPU cores in task manager. Task-Manager->Details->PathOfExileSteam.exe (right click)->Set Affinity->select your performance cores I think setting the affinity this way resets on reboot of your PC though.
I've seen another comment about this -- hopefully this helps someone. I was using DX11 as a renderer, it's the default option. I switched to Vulcan AND disabled hardware acceleration in background applications that I used (Spotify, Firefox). The latter point stopped the crashes, the renderer swap increased performance. To give some context, the F1 data splash was showing my CPU red-lining upon entering a map. It was about a 80% drop in CPU usage after switching to Vulcan. I have no idea why this worked for me but I haven't had problems since.
Hello. I was having all those drops. And then i realize i got poe trade macro open. Or chaos recipe enh. I closed all tier program and the game run perfectly fine. I dont know what is happening but those tier program are somewhat braking the game for me. Try it guys. Close everything run only the game and post here to see if we are more with the same problem.

New league same problem... just look at the 3.22 performance on forums, already started to post from current league. GGG also released the new supporter core packs with the launch, it made any city crash when you entered.
Tbh, I’ve been playing POE through Steam on AMD setup Linux OS, never saw any serious fps drop or shader render issue, not sure on Window though, not expert on this but due to Win 10/11 rely heavily on cpu, and tons of memory to run an idle screen, I’ve choose Linux over Window, I love to see running an idle Linux OS only cost less than 200mb memory, no drivers issue, even most Steam games are Linux optimised and run smoothly at most case, don’t get me wrong, my pc setup have 128gb of memory to spare, but seeing window running 6gb on average on an idle screen, and the constant update+restart screen, I switched 😂
If your PC is having issues playing this spaghetti code of a game, the only plausible solution if your computer is not the issue is replacing your SSD for a very high end one. Yes, SSD i one of the most important components to play a game that should in theory play on a mid to high end PC.
They changed graphics engine 1 or 2 weeks before tota. It was supposed to bring better performance.try to change to dx12 or vulcan, don't know why but dx11 seems to run on less resource cost. Im running 13600k+6800XT and dx12/vulkan seem to keep more resource utilization even on iddle in hideout.
Oof, I didn't realize the framerate problems were that bad for folks but I can see it clearly in this video. I do have the problem with unloaded textures and effects taking ~10 seconds or so to pop in after entering a map, and load times get worse every league, but lucky for me my frames per second has been stable. Budget PC build with AMD cpu and gpu playing at 1080p windowed fullscreen + engine multithreading enabled + Vulkan. Maybe the person claiming CPU throttling as the cause is correct? My CPU is old enough that PoE at least puts a ~40% load on all the cores and so it stays at full clock speed and voltage during gameplay. If you're having the framerate stutter, it might be worth looking at Task Manager > Performance > CPU and keeping an eye on the utilization and clock speed numbers while running a couple maps. If the numbers bounce around like crazy, that would be a big indicator of power savings settings being the culprit. I don't have the problem, so I can't test anything.
legit playing on 4k dollars computer and having 15 fps in blighted maps is unacceptable they just shit out a conga line of 500 monsters every portal

It never matters what is going on in the foreground. It will always be so satisfying watching someone clear Strand.
Definitely one of the most satisfying layouts
Performance issue had definitely became a problem more recently, by that I mean the performance is declining, at least for a year, considering my PC isn't that bad. Texture not loading for a solid few seconds whether it's in town or in maps happens so frequently.

Doing ubers at 3fps is not fun.

Performance this league was simply grotesque, by far the main reason why i didn't played alot this league.

the video is actually not answering WHY there were / are performance issues, it basically comments everything else except for WHY ...
For me the new cosmetics you got from challenges lagged my game and unequipping them made my game performance multiple times better.
That beastmaster mtx is lagging indeed. Pro player already explained it
Having No mtx and extra stashtabs on an account significantly reduces loading times

You're literally playing KB poison, one of the most performance-heavy FPS tanking builds in all of PoE. What the hell did you expect?
The patches right before ancestor league was that they shifted the engine to be poe 2 engine that utilizes gpu. People with older specs suffer so much since and it includes me. I really hope they revert it
its kinda crazy when i think about it, when i got my new pc like 7y ago i could play poe with stable 50-60fps on 4k with setting on high no problems (was playing on 25xx*xxxx for the most part cause 4k was stuttering sometimes and i was also streaming) over the years it got worse and worse slowly since the last 2-3 years i play on lowest settings and just full hd and the game still dosnt run that good, with the recent league it wouldent even run anymore on dx11, dx11 and lowest settings would be like 20-40fps and crazy stuttering (in the fucking campain with nothing really happening)
the only thing that worked for me was using dx12/lowest settings/fullhd/vsync ON/tripplebuffeing ON/ and also vync and tripple buffeing (in my nvidea settings) i almost quit too but with this settings i got like 60 most of the time and if shit gets real maybe it drops to 40-50 but its playable (if i dont play a build thats fps intensive than i literally cant play it) kinda stopped streaming poe too since it already laggs without stream and on low settings.. i think it started to become really bad when they did this "performance enhance patch for bad pcs" or somehting since then it got worse and worse every league for me. kinda felt like they tryd to make it run smoother on super bad pcs and somehow made it perform worse on the avarage pc (and the highend dont care anyways because they can compensate for that) as a general tipp just try anything out u can think of, even stuff that dosnt make sense, computers are weird sometimes. (like i tryd "intelligent standby list cleaner") still using it idk if it even helps or not, or different drivers for the gpu / high performance mode / setting the chache limit or whatever it was to 100k / idk prolly a few other things, point is i cant even remember if somehting of that helped or not but somehting i did fixed it for the most part, could be even stuff like turning off the sound in poe. another small tipp: dont use this settings that scale down ur stuff to almost pixles (at least if it runns kinda stable without) if this feature turns itself on/off all the time that could lead to stuttering too. dont give up, if you really try u prolly find a fix to it (like me and most other ppl) cheers
the game is loading textures normally for me but first few seconds when i enter new zone the video quality drops to like 240p and in like 5-30sec time it goes back up to what my settings are
This was my first league but I haven't noticed any performance issues on my machine atleast.
15 seconds loading screen? As a console player, I'm jealous, these are rooky numbers
This league I've lost around 70 FPS compared to previous leagues. I used to always have around 150 fps in town, now I'm at around 80.
Thank you! I had this struggle all league long, first days were a nightmare and almost decided to temporarely quit for a week.
I thought it was just me lol lawd I aint crazy.
Same. I thought my pc was just getting further and further obsolete and PoE was just getting too difficult to run.
Yeah, experienced it with juiced Blight on maps. Died, then went back to a failed blight. Literally took like 10 seconds to load.
6:35 Rarely my GPU gets "stuck" in the low power mode when not gaming and tabbed out of poe (limited background fps 1), when I open poe the gpu is at 400mhz and performs ass. running something else like a youtube video fixes that and the gpu boosts normally again
That's literally an issue for your system, not the game. Your bios is aggressively limiting your gpu performance.
@@Sammysapphira yeah my PC is struggling, gpu is fried. still works but I get artifacts and random crashes
I'm playing on a ryzen 5800x amd rx5600xt 4x8gb 3200mhz and a nvme 1tb for OS and in addition I have a 2.5 500gb ssd dedicated to only poe and pob and I still have those nasty lag spikes since the last update
Now imagine poe2, not even 5090 gonna be able to survive the pack of monsters or 10 guys with 2 giant pets afk in town
Ironically PoE2 might actually run better because the engine will be much more modern and polished, while the PoE1 engine is still kind of based on a foundation thrown together by three guys in a garage in 2009.
Poe will run better because of lower packsize and there isnt a trillion mechanic calculations
@@Sleepy_Otter it will be on the same engine, that's why they are shtting all over the poe1 engine, prepping it for poe2
I can now only play with the lowest resolution but still encountering crashes a lot...
i might skip affliction if they dont fix the performance issues
I play perfectly on a toaster with 16gb ram, amd fx6300 cpu and an Nvidia 750ti 2gb, mostly minimal settings. After the patch the game was unplayable, it was solved after deleting all the game caches and using Vulkan instead of DX11.
I delete my shader cache ever patch its weird they dont recommend this to everyone I also have a larger than default shader cache of 10gb.
I remember when the game ended DX9 support with no warning.
Also the last league that had good performance was the one with forbidden masters, I dont remember the name anymore. And by good I mean that the game was generally running allright but encountering league mechanic caused massive 1-5 second freezes. Because the game had to load everything on the spot (instead of having any sort of preloading, which they added later)
After that the game would get massive performance hit patch-to-patch while nothing really got upgraded from my point of view. New water physics? Cool, didnt ask, 30 fps less.
It is expected for such a long lived game but for example WoW's engine aged much better. Not only the graphics are timeless, it also runs very well.
You cant say that about PoE.
I remember running poe at high settings 100+ fps, now mid settings and I an dropping to 30-40fps in some places
For me it always helps to disable sounds entirely. Not 100 to 0, literally putting "false" in the value section.
Sorry Kamil (OST creator) - your work might be stellar, but you can thanks GGG forcing people's hands and make it impossible to enjoy your work...
Make sure your audio output is not through your gpu either I had issues there.
is it server related? i am on the Texas server and i do not experience any of this and i am running maps where you would see it. i also run on wifi which is not ideal but pull around 100mbps on it.
Downstream has nothing related to this.
If you're using an Nvidia card, go to Nvidia settings and set it to default (Restore). This fixed it for me for some reason. I even tried reinstalling my graphics driver using DDU but still had the same issue, but for some reason just setting nvidia settings to default solved it.
This is annoying. Up until now, the game performance is piss ass.
Same here, performance issues this league. I play on Mac, but I didn’t have lag issues before doing just maps
31/03/2024 and this still happen. Kallandra League 60 fps on town, Necropolis 16 fps on town with a 3060ti ...
i also had problems with poe, this week, for some reason, my pc started showing flags of 70C, wich never happened
Two things that is important about POE:
1) this is a cpu intensive game, better the cpu is, better will be your framerate and everything related around it
2) depending on your graphic card, using the exact same settings with Directx12, or 11 or Vulkan will give you different numbers: take the time to switch renderers and see what's best for you.
oh and maybe 3) Be sure in the 'Detail Settings' to set 'Lighting' to 'Shadows (Default)'. Using the setting 'Shadows + Global Illumination' will *greatly* reduce performances.
SSD is the most important part
"recently" idk ive been playing since 2013 and performance on this game has always been shit
I thought I was the only one. The textures and the enemy models do not load fast enough at times.
The next parch fixed it thankfully but i know alot of others were facing issues after mine was fixed
i used to have 3 sec load time now its 1 min
SSD is minimum spec, nvme is recomended
@@TheSaival i have ssd , bought m2 now
@@TheSaival i have ssd , bought m2 now
@@wrzaskkielce781 and now Is the problem fixed?
Delete your cache.
Kind of funny how well the flying battery theme matches up with hectic, laggy PoE gameplay
For me it's the long loading screen. As for the sturrering, I found a fix online for intel processor
Isn't it the e cores problem for intel? I heard that the scheduler have a bad habit of throwing games in there and causing shuttering until they use a program to force it to not use them.
feels like in the last patch for the event was also some bullshit about performance, cause now its worse.
Im never bound by cpu gpu or ram. If im downloading or doing something else network intensive in the background, or if someone else on my wifi is doing something similar, poe performance is awful. Perfect network conditions result in perfect performance in my case. Game is immensely network intensive for some reason.
Because you're on lockstep which enforces a strict client position based on the pings that it gets back from the server. Change it to predictive.
Anyone saying "oh its just this change that," first ty for some tips, they do tend to help, but honestly, when you can play far more graphically complex games than this with no issues, it is pretty obvious the problem is POE itself.
And I thought it was just my horrible Internet
they upgraded engine due to Poe2 some thing related , and it killed the performance , I was able to kill Uber Sirus on Xbox series S , now it's so laggy it's impossible .
friendly tip: if you're already having performance issues , DO NOT play a Scourge Arrow build
Had to disable last league reward challenge because the bloody explosion made the game really laggy :/
They talked about this in the QnA session in Exilecon.
If this is the performance to be expected for POE2, then I won't even bother playing that game even if it's free.
So I’m confused
on geforce now poe works pretty well but there is 1 problem, trade macro doesnt work there :(
TOTA league is the worst league performance wise I would say. It wasn't that bad in crucible, but still far away from good
And one more thing. Whoever was sitting there and gave the OK for 5 way legion, I hope you step on your son's Lego stones
the last supporter pack i got was in Ultimatum league, just vote with your wallet
I found the lag is worse when other apps on the system are using DX12 not 11.
switch everything to 11 and its all smooth again
If payed games are prone to bad performance, what people expect from free ones...
I had problems last league, too, but this league it's fine. I trust GGG to fix it like they have in the past.
Task-Manager->Details->PathOfExileSteam.exe (right click)->Set Affinity->select your performance cores
I think setting the affinity this way resets on reboot of your PC though.
Also, dynamic culling.
Im gatekept out of progressing. Cant enter slums but it works on standard yet still isnt fixed.
That was the first league i was forced to quit due to poor performance. Game was literally unplayable, i didnt even reach maps :\
On 7900xtx and ryzen 7 it's still lagging sometimes lmao
Does this explain the constant disconnects?
I hope they fix fps issues in PoE2, will still play it if they don't but will not spend any money on it.
Yo what is this sonic remix?
