It was the 4,5 pair in Col 7 and later the 3,9 pair in Row 4 that did it for me. Finding the 4,5 pair just took brute force and time, and wasn't all that satisfying. Can't blame you for going to notations.
That 45 pair was in effect the result of the placements of the 267s: look at the given 267 in block 9 and in row 3: this forces a 267 triple in colum 7 at rows 1, 3 and 5. So the 9 can only be in r7c7. Puzzle collapses from there.
I can't imagine how you failed after finding the 45 pair in column 7. For me, with the resulting 9 in r7c7, the puzzle collapses and I just finished playing sudoku 101. 10m6s notation free.
