For the Aegis plate I must be silly then cause as soon as I got the Invert ability my first thought was "HEY Why not use it on the biggest vertical room of the game, I bet there is a big secret over there !!" got their, and then I found the armor, my personnal biggest "CALLED IT !!!" moment in this game XD
This one was great al well as it's companion games. I may be wrong but as of Classic Mode 2, the game is now Content Complete. I wouldn't be surprised if they're already working on the sequel.
One more thing - it has NG+, but no scaling to your level. So, if you got all crystals, all food, all levels - you're gonna curb-stomp everything on your way. Speaking about collectibles - once you've gathered all of them and got Gebel's glasses (or whatever it was), you're gonna become unbeatable. Especially with time-stop ability.
Probably the only metroidvania i stopped playing and have little motivation to get back into in order to beat it. Im glad to see someone with a more reasonable take as seeing all the praise being heaped in this game really made me feel like I was missing something, only to return to the game and give up again due to lack of motivation
About the bottlenecks - IMHO that splitting of the red moon was pretty dumb. Had to google it. I know there was something similar in SoTN. To be honest, I didn't have nerve to read all the generic lore, maybe it was explained and I missed it, maybe it wasn't. But when I should have known to split the moon, I had no clue :D
You really should have played this on PC/Steam. I played it on a fairly modest laptop and didn't have a lot of the issues with performance or fiddly visuals. Though it probably helped that I liked the visual style more than the traditional 2.5D game which I also typically am not wild about.
Each one of tjeir opinons, to my is by far the best successor for sotn, a LOT of content, much refined gameplay and much more replay value than any metroidvania on the market
Again, I agree. Was pretty good, but not great. My Switch game was buggy and would frequently freeze or need to be reset. Difficulty and ramp was good, but there was one shard that I leveled up, and made every enemy or boss, including the last one, piss easy. Literally throw knives and hold one button to win.
As a lover of Symphony of the night I too was underwhelmed by this game. I just couldn’t get over the graphics. They really let it down. Still beat it though. I was just expecting more coz it was from IGA
Game could have worked better as a 2D game, 3D graphics didn't add much to this game, those 2.5D gimmicks like parallax, the whole rotating tower and occasional camera movements didn't add much to game. I would have rather seen some top notch pixel art and animation, like in Blasphemous 2.
PC Steam is the way to play, switch is for holidays. Joke aside yeah the switch version sucks, but this game shines better on PC, like most indie games. Cool review though. A bit harsh but cool.
I've subscribed before, but I would unsubscribe and subscribe again just for your starting statement: this game is just good, 7,5 and nothing else. Worst part is the sluggish, slow and clunky movement and combat system, with Miriam moving like a tank while the enemies are a lot more agile and fast.

Big Brain Moment!!!
I still want to play this at some point.
Love this game. Felt really in tune with Igavanias.

Great point. The NG+ could have handled way better

It’s not a terrible game, but, yeah, it’s definitely not the greatest either.

I eventually played it on PS4. It was a much smoother experience lol

Its been recently added to game pass. I was gonna play it now but both cookie cutter and elderand are on sale today so its going on the backlog.

I’m interested to see where this franchise goes, but, yeah, it’ll need to do something to push it from good to great.

I fell the same way lol
Why does Mirriam in blasphemous look so much better than in her own game.
Because ROTN looks like butt 🤷♂️ 😆
Honestly, one of few metroidvanias that I didn't like. It had mobile game vibes.
this game is like mighty number 9 and would have been beter if it ws spitre based not 2.5d. kicking inti creates off the development was a mistake.
As long as it doesn’t look like a game from the 90s, I agree.
Finally someone that feels the same. I Was very underwhelmed by this game and could not understand all its praise
This game is way too half-assed graphically for me to ever consider playing it. Makes my eyes bleed. 😂
Same 😆
